As if it couldn't get any wilder at the Wayne County board of canvassers:The republican members are now seeking to rescind certification, despite the fact that the motion officially passed, certification papers were signed, & records were sent to secretary of state this AM
While, Palmer and Hartmann have signed affidavits seeking to revoke their certification, Vice Chair Kinloch assures me the deal is already done. Lawsuits withstanding, as election lawyers have explained to me, the deadline is also a hard stop, and the deadline was yesterday.
What people likely missed on Tuesday night, after Wayne County canvassers voted to certify, Kinloch into'd a 2nd motion waving reconsideration, meaning the board wouldn't be able to revisit, explicitly because he suspected the Republicans wld come under pressure today #Foresight
The initial deal brokered with Dem canvassers, occurred after 3 hrs of passionate testimony from Wayne County residents calling out the Republicans for attempting to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of Black & brown voters in Michigan’s most populous, diverse, & bluest county
“Do they understand how they are making us look as a body?” Kinloch said of his republican colleagues attempts to back out “We have such an amazing and important role in the democratic process, and they’re turning it on its head.”

Latest developments:
Internet: Where can I find a recording (preferably video) of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers meeting from Zoom on Tuesday? I have the audio from inside the room, but in need of something with clearer sound
Seeing statements in the news that Republican Wayne County canvassing board member was subject to a “pressure campaign”

Public comment time like we saw Tues. is standard in MI. After the no vote, Dems actually tried to adjourn early, but Palmer implored them to stay for comment
Also on the topic of pressure & “Mob Rule” as many claim occurred in Wayne County this week.

Since the mtg Republican board member Palmer has said clearly: “There wasn’t mob rule” & that she didn’t succumb to the pressure to certify. She moved forward bc of the audit agreement
I can confirm from texts shown to me that Wayne County Republican canvasser says she‘s received threats post-meeting.

She says they’ve come from both sides, the right & the left, specifically Antifa from Grosse Pointe.

Yes, Michiganders, you read that last part correctly
I sent this in a flurry of bureaucratic updates this morning. I have an affinity for the mundane details of our local government, particularly when it’s on fire.Always skeptical, I did doubt the premise of Grosse Pointe Antifa, so respect to @metrotimes for proving everyone wrong
Of course the unintended overlap between the viral Grosse Pointe Antifa & the more serious matter of the threats and doxing against members of the public& public officials throughout Wayne County who made their vote, or official opinion, heard on Tuesday was a bit of an oversight
