1. An EV thread According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), over the last 10 years, EV sales have risen from 17,000 to 7.2 million, 47% of which were in China.
A big reason $Nio is competitive in the EV space is because of the support it receives from the govt. Last year, the government supported $Nio by offering it a RMB7 billion (US$1b) bailout
$Nio saw its Q1 2019 and Q2 2019 EV sales drop by approximately 58% and 8% sequentially as a result of the subsidy cuts
According to a McKinsey report, 100,000 units of EVs were sold in China in June 2020 compared to 196,000 sold in June 2019. In response to the pandemic, Beijing decided to extend the subsidies to 2022.
Some of the risks $NIO faces are phasing out of the subsidies for EV and cash burn. More at simplywall.st/stocks/us/auto…

To avoid group think. #cognitivebias 1. Form a thesis for investment. 2. Put together simple screens for the stocks that meet your thesis and criteria. 3. Learn about investor sentiment on Twitter. If you go backwards on this, you will buy what everyone else buys. #NoteToSelf
For e.g. Thesis - 1. Electric Cars are the future. 2. Finviz Electric cars to get $XPEV, $TSLA, $RIDE, $NIO, $BLNK, $PLUG, $APTV, etc. 3. Check sentiment on Twitter #NoteToSelf
Thesis 2: Fintech will replace traditional finance. 2. Stocks: $SQ, $PYPL, $LU, $LMND, $STNE, $PAGS, $RKT, etc. 3. FinTwit only likes $SQ and $PYPL, but I prefer $LU #NoteToSelf
