The problem with this thinkpiece is the insinuation that the VP was merely elected out of necropolitical goodwill, basically airbrushing emphasis by the VP's camapaign on her background as a public interest lawyer.
The piece falls victim to the trope that like Cory, Leni is a mere housewife with no business being in government.

I bristle at the comparison because it ignores the sheer difference in their background.
Actually this piece, along with the politically charged language it uses e.g. "yellow blood" would be at home with the Manila Times.
And finally, ano ang naging punto ng article na ito? Walang factual basis. Imahinasyon lang niya ang nagsasabing sinasamba si Leni and the urge to paint a "both sides narrative" to feel "above the fray".
Of course the staff should be lauded, of the donors shoukd be recognized, as is being done in official channels.

But they're not the ones running for office. They're working for the VP to get the credit, that's what the staff is for.
The message of the article may be, let's not put all our hopes on the top of the ticket lest we be disappointed again

But I tell you this: the message received is: "Walang kwenta ang administrasyon pero wala ring kwenta ang alternatibo so why change it?"

Don't you just love how they just use politicians thay don't normally care about (Liz Warren, Karen Bass, Barbara Lee) as a prop to bludgeon Biden with when convenient?
Saka hindi ko gets, wouldn't their skills be best suited for crafting legislation instead of being in the executive?
If you want Biden to govern as a progressive, give him progressive laws to implement, and you don't do it by removing your policy brain trust in Congress.
