!!!!!! @carolecadwalla @profcarroll @FBoversight watch Facebook get uncomfortable again. politico.com/news/2020/11/2…
if you're wondering why Facebook would be uncomfortable, @AGKarlRacine is also asking the Judge on the matter against Facebook to require discovery of four key senior executives. Hearing was September, decision pending.
In this timeline I see 9 month window before FTC accelerated its efforts to depose Steve Bannon on August 27, 2020 re Cambridge Analytica. What happened the previous week? Facebook, who covered up Cambridge Analytica, had CEO Zuckerberg deposed under oath for 1st time by FTC.
Remember, Zuckerberg falsely testified having found out about CA in Dec ‘15 they had them sign a “full legal contract” that they deleted the data. Kogan testified telling FB in Sept ‘15. Two years and quite a stock and election ride later, the story broke worldwide.

WTF Google. Get it together. cc @sundarpichai @kent_walker
As if we need more evidence of antitrust harms from G's search monopoly tied to its other interests. It's been 12+ hrs. A search for "Biden loses" should not bring up disinfo on YouTube without proper context, fact-check, election results and/or links to actual trusted brands.
and I was serious about the need for leadership changes at the top. It's an abysmal failure to be the one major social media platform without a public policy on handling the issue. And the risks tied to other parts of biz aren't a valid reason to hide.

Some powerful cover stories this morning. Let’s start in the Deep South. “Biden Wins” seems to be most popular along with “Time to Heal” in describing the historic victory of @JoeBiden.
They were the most common headlines and storylines from the big cities, too.
I did note The New York Times and Washington Post included the other part of the story, “Biden Beats Trump.” In New Hampshire, they even said, “Biden topples Trump” hinting at the autocratic tendencies of our current leader. Note: this is the only way Trump was ever mentioned.

I read somewhere it was in proximity to I-95. If it simply checked box of high-end hotel with an easy exit for security then that would be amazing oops. Please confirm this y’all. I hope this guy owns the decision.
So it appears I may have been right. 😂

also at the polls this week. businessinsider.com/prop-24-privac…
😂 “A Facebook spokesperson did not provide comment when reached by Business Insider. A Google spokesperson did not immediately respond to Business Insider's requests for comment. Neither company has publicly taken a stance on Prop 24.”
Because if they did, it would have undermined their efforts to stop it. Instead they worked through their trade bodies and likely hoped others with more credibility could sidetrack it. Unsuccessfully. Google and Facebook haven’t been winning much lately in policy world.

I'm sounding an alarm. As we recognize victory, do NOT forget about last night's press conference and 2:22am tweet. Results are unlikely a question but he is using active measures to undermine transition. Leadership will matter, read and watch thread below.
We should indeed stay calm and let it unfold with confidence in the integrity of our elections. But we also need to recognize the important role of ALL news media and bipartisan leadership. And we need to make certain tech platforms ensure disinfo is properly handled and labeled.
Here is @selectedwisdom simply confirming, "my position hasn't changed."

Like our own President? As I reviewed the press conference late tonight, I wondered at what point we sound the alarm that he’s using active measures on us?
Please stop and read this. It’s from the Republican-led bipartisan Senate Intel Report Volume 5. It’s important we recognize what is happening. It was a landmark report and many of the same actors are still active and engaged.
This was written six weeks ago. We knew it was coming. nytimes.com/2020/09/22/us/…
