If I start taking tablets for high BP, will I get addicted/dependent on medicine? - very common concern. The question is wrong. The question should be is there a way to get rid of high blood pressure and stop medicine? Yes in some instances it may be possible. #HighBloodPressure
1. If you're are obese or overweight - by reducing weight and maintaining healthy body weight it is possible to reverse high blood pressure in many cases. Ideal body wt = (height in cm minus 100) kg #obesity
2. Low carb diet can help acheive ideal body weight and reverse insulin resistance/metabolic syndrome. In some people it is possible to stop high BP and diabetic medicine #lowcarb healthline.com/nutrition/8-po…
3. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) - too much snoring in night and low oxygen levels can lead to high BP. Common in overweight individuals with thick short neck. Treating OSA by using CPAP/BIPAP machine to help breath or sometimes surgically can cure high BP. #OSA
4. Certain secondary causes of high BP - if diagnosed can be cured by treating the underlying cause. Aldosterone secreting adenoma in adrenal, pheochromocytoma, Cushing's syndrome, hyperparathyroidism, hypercalcemia, renal artery stenosis are some examples #secondaryHTN
5. Dietary restriction of salt, sugar and fat. Regular physical exercise, minimal alcohol consumption and stopping to smoke/tobacco use are crucial. #DASHdiet #stopsmoking #reducealcohol

NARAKACHATURDASHI - Deepavali is celebrated throughout the country, north India considers Naraka Chaturdashi as “Choti Diwali” but in South India Naraka Chaturdashi is the main Deepavali. #HappyDeepavali
South India celebrates the Deepavali a day earlier than the North. Both celebrate the victory of Good over Evil but North celebrate the return of Rama to his Kingdom with Sita as Deepavali and South Indians celebrate the victory of Shakthi over Evil Narakasura as the Deepavali.

#Deepavali Day 1 - "Neeru Thumbo Habba" – Cleaning And Venerating Water a day Before Deepavali is a unique cleaning ritual performed in Karnataka. Neeru Thumbo Habba 2020 is on November 13.
‘Neeru’ means water and the ritual is a sort of physical and spiritual cleaning. The cleaning is to remove all dirt, evil and inauspicious things before the arrival of Goddess Lakshmi on the next day. It is observed on the 13th day during the waning phase of the moon of Ashvija.
Toilets/wash/bath areas etc are cleaned thoroughly. Water containers are emptied and cleaned. All buckets and mugs are scrubbed and cleaned. Those still using huge urns decorate them with turmeric and kumkum dots. Rangolis or kolams are drawn before wash areas and huge vessels.

A 41 year old guy presented with pain on trying to hang clothes overhead and pins and needles in both upper limbs. He underwent a health check and chest X ray showed bilateral Cervical ribs. #ThoracicOutletSyndrome
About 1/200 people are born with an extra rib called a cervical rib. About 1/10 people who have a cervical rib develop thoracic outlet syndrome. It's an important diagnosis which can often be missed if a proper history is not taken and examination/work up are not performed.
The thoracic outlet is a space, or passageway, that lies just above your first rib and behind your collarbone (clavicle). It runs from the base of the neck to the armpit.

Sunday evening. Me and son alone. I decide to change some fused bulbs outside the house and ask son's help to hold up a torchlight. He says matter of factly - don't you think you should do this when people are around and in daylight? I'm the only one here and I don't know CPR! 🙈
But then I'm me. I decide to do it anyways. And I'm lazy to take the ladder and decide to use this chair instead balancing on the sides and then this happens. Miraculous escape🤪🤪🤪. #BullHeaded 🙆🏻‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ I still changed 6 bulbs 😎😎😎
