A thread on how @DailyMailUK has used fake/misleading charts to twist facts.

@RossjournoClark = the "journalist"
@MichaelYeadon3 = the contrarian
@ClareCraigPath = the acolyte

…Firstly @DailyMailUK is using a fake chart to obfuscate excess deaths.
5 year max & mins should be much closer together.

Week 45 is 1,481 in excess

Fake, with corrections True HT @gordonrlove1

...Secondly this chart has been twisted beyond breaking point.

The chart even says "later figures are likely to be revised up"!

Total occupied capacity is at the 2019 level already, before winter flu has even arrived!

A slow bus crash over a cliff is still fatal!!

This chart of winter scenarios neglects to mention the models were prepared assuming no new mitigations were going to be in place. Pre-lockdown.
Worst case scenarios.

And 400 deaths a day have been twisted to look insignificant.

They aren't. They matter.

The case of the missing Negatives!

On 1st April Government stopped reporting the number of negative Covid-19 tests.

A thread...

Let's just check the background: they'd been regularly publishing negative results up until 31st March.

Compare 1st April to 31 March

And here's the page where the test data is published.
The General Notes says negative test results are published daily.

"Data on UK positive and negative tests and data on deaths is updated on this page daily at 2pm or shortly after."

So what else happened at the end of March?

Answer: they started Pillar 2 testing.

Pillar 2 tests are mass posted out to households, or undertaken by satellite test centres, and then later returned, checked and analysed by non-NHS/PHE labs.

Interesting revelations about The Brexit Party Limited by @PrivateEyeNews !

Just 15 shares issued, Farage has 8 and Tice 5 with one more each in the hands of treasurer Mehrtash A’zami and the party’s head of campaigning, Paul Oakden.

Meanwhile on the income side.../
@PrivateEyeNews /... Electoral Commission records show that in its short lifetime the party/company has received £8.6m in donations – and that’s JUST from those giving more than the registrable amount of £500.

@PrivateEyeNews /... With BXP fielding candidates in just 275 constituencies in GE2019, but unlikely to have spent the £30,000 limit in most, there could be plenty left in the kitty.

Private Eye asked treasurer A’zami what controls are in place over use of the money.

Answer came there none.
