In March, the Senate voted down a measure (sponsored by Bernie Sanders, among others) that would have invoked the War Powers Act to end U.S. collaboration with the Saudis in waging war against #Yemen. While the resolution did not pass, 44 senators supported it,
in defiance of the formidable Saudi lobby, Trump administration officials and the military-industrial complex. The Senate vote has helped bring the #Yemen war – which has not received extensive coverage from the mainstream media – into public awareness and
forced legislators to take a stand either for or against peace and constitutional governance.
The killing continues in #Yemen, and the effort to halt the U.S.-Saudi war, directed largely against defenseless civilians, continues to gain momentum. Now is the time to
take action and to work for peace in the Middle East. The first step is to learn how our tax dollars are being used, without the consent of Congress, to inflict destruction and misery on an impoverished and war-wracked country. By spreading the word, organizing and
putting pressure on our elected representatives, we can bring this brutal, shameful war to an end and move toward a peaceful resolution of the Yemeni conflict.…

Army brings #Marib city under control: Military leader

The Yemeni military and strategic expert, Brigadier General Abed Al-Thawr said that the fall of the Mas camp in the Yemeni army’s hands means controlling the city of Marib completely.

Al-Thawr told Al-Alam News TV that “the Saudi-led coalition has not ability to control the camp of Mas militarily, considering the city of Marib now is liberated and under control.
He pointed out that the coalition warplanes heavily targeted the province, noting that Mas camp
is one of the most important strategic sites in which the coalition was located and did not achieve any military advantage.

#YEMEN The ministry stated yesterday on the occasion of International Children’s Day that the warplanes of the US-Saudi led-coalition killed 2,643 children and injured 4,205, noting that this is an evidence of the criminality and malice of the enemy.

It added that the suffocating siege on #Yemen imposed by the US-Saudi aggression coalition kills hundreds of thousands of children and millions of them waiting for the same fate.

The number of children under five years affected by malnutrition are
nearly 2 million, including 400 thousand in critical condition, and 12 thousand passed away, the ministry pointed out.

#أوكسفام: دول بمجموعة العشرين صدّرت أسلحة للسعودية بأكثر من 17 مليار دولار
قالت منظمة أوكسفام إن دولاً ضمن مجموعة العشرين قامت بتصدير أسلحة تزيد قيمتها عن 17 مليار دولار للسعودية منذ بداية العدوان على اليمن في 2015م.

وأوضحت أوكسفام في بيان صادر عنها مع قرب اجتماع رؤساء
مجموعة العشرين في القمة التي تستضيفها السعودية، أن تلك الدول لم تمنح سوى ثُلث هذا المبلغ لليمن الذي يعاني من أكبر أزمة إنسانية في العالم.

وأكدت أن أجمالي قيمة صادرات الأسلحة من بعض دول مجموعة العشرين إلى دول تحالف العدوان ارتفع إلى 31.4 مليار دولار على الأقل بين عامي 2015 و
2019، وذلك بحسب آخر السجلات المتوفرة.

وبحسب المنظمة فإن هذا الرقم يُعد أكثر بخمسة أضعاف مقارنة بالمبلغ الذي قدمته الدول الأعضاء في مجموعة العشرين لمساعدة اليمن بين عامي 2015 و 2020.

@Oxfam International issued a statement saying that the value of arms exports from some countries in the group to Saudi Arabia amounted to five times the amount of aid provided to #Yemen, which suffers from the largest humanitarian crisis in the world.

“As these countries make billions of revenues from weapons exports that fuel the #Yemen on war, they only provide a small amount as aid to the country,” the statement explaine

The organization added that the value of arms exports to #SaudiArabia has exceeded $17 billion
since the war began, while those countries have given only a third of this amount, for allegedly helping the #Yemenis.
