LGB Alliance recently boasted of a worldwide network of anti-trans "LGB" groups under the banner #LGBInternational

In Ireland, Wales, Australia, America, Canada, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Iceland , Norway and Serbia.

I did some analysis and found some interesting results.
THREAD👇
On closer inspection, the followers of these new #LGBInternational groups are almost entirely a subset of LGB Alliance followers.

They are the same group of people.
They were all mostly set up in September/October 2020.

The only outlier being the group in Spain, which was set up in July, has 4k followers, but still shows significant follower overlap with the UK LGB Alliance.
Let's look at where their followers are based geographically.

USA, Canada, Australia, Serbia.

All have more followers in the UK than anywhere else.
Ireland has more followers in the UK than Ireland.

Wales has more followers in England than in Wales.

Iceland and Norway both have far more followers in the UK than their supposed "home" countries.
The Mexican group has more followers in UK/Europe than in Mexico.

The only outlier being Spain, where the Spanish group is mostly Spanish accounts.
Who's setting up and running these accounts?

Well, you might see a connection in the below.

Look familiar? This has been tried before, earlier this year fake accounts purporting to represent UK political parties were set up in the same way, all were suspended from twitter.
What conclusion can we draw?

It seems clear this is far less an #LGBInternational movement far more a UK astroturf campaign seeking to harm & divide the LGBT community worldwide. LGB Alliance masquerading as a broad movement.

A UK based hate group exporting their hate globally.
Not only do we export our transphobia, people have been 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗹𝘂𝗺 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗞 because of how badly we treat trans people.

Think about that.

Is that any wonder when UK media uses dehumanising terms like "trans epidemic"?

Comparing human lives to disease.
To end on a positive.

Please follow and support these orgs that help the UK trans, NB and LGBT+ communities. 💜

@stonewalluk @StonewallScot @LGBTYS @GalopUK @WhatTheTrans @LGBTIScotland @ScottishTrans @rainbowgreens @TransPrideScot @transprideldn @AmnestyUK_LGBTI @AmnestyUK
This isn't an exhaustive list, so please do add more organisations and accounts below that help and support trans and non binary people in the UK and abroad. Thanks, much love. 💜 👇
Just a quick reminder, homophobia was a British colonial export.

Many countries current anti-LGBT laws exist because of colonial history.

The UK's legacy of exporting hate runs deep.

Recently 7 LGBT+ groups from the UK's major political parties released a joint statement asking Liz Truss to support trans rights.

I'm response ForWomenScot issued a "cross party" joint letter, opposing trans rights.

But who are the signatories & who do they represent?

THREAD ImageImageImageImage
They claim to represent "cross party" support, but none of the groups listed are affiliated to UK political parties.

They are random Twitter accounts, liking to petitions.

But who are they? What connects them? Do they represent political parties and members?

Let's find out. 👇
First off let's look at their link to ForWomenScot.

Conservative Woman's Pledge
Labour Women's Declaration
Liberal Democrat Declaration
SNP Women's Pledge
WEP Women

All show very large follower overlap with ForWomenScot, a prominent anti-trans Scottish campaign group. ImageImageImage

It was #IDAHOBIT on Sunday

International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia 🏳️‍🌈

A day for the LGBT+ community & allies across the world to highlight oppression and show support.

I took a look at what LGB Alliance posted that day, the results are revealing.

THREAD:
On the left are all the posts LGB Alliance made about #IDAHOBIT

On the right are all their other posts that day.

TLDR: They are all in some way about opposing trans rights, or criticising LGBT+ orgs and LGBT+ people who are trans inclusive.
Let's look at their #IDAHOBIT tweet.

It's just a hashtag & a link to an article two years out of date.

We are currently seeing an unprecedented rise in LGBT+ hate crime, an org that purports to represent "LGB" people might do more to highlight this, than this empty lip service.

LGB Alliance have applied for charitable status, details on their just giving page.

They are an anti-trans organising, many believe they are a hate group.

It's important we act and make the charity commission aware that they are not a legitimate pro-LGBT+ organisation.

THREAD:
Their application for charitable status has yet to receive any representations against it. It's important we act.

Please send representations to: rauemailteam@charitycommission.gov.uk

Put FAO Baroness Tina Stowell RE: LGB Alliance Charity Status Application in the subject line.
Ensure you mention your knowledge of the issue is from their just giving page which publicly states: “Now that we are a legal entity, we have applied for full charitable status”.

With then a formal reason as to why you/your organisation is against their charity status.

Who are For Women Scotland?

Are they a women's rights organisation?

Or are they an anti-trans organisation?

Let's have a look at their followers and try to find out what they're all about.

A THREAD👇
First off, let's do a comparison.

Let's take two known anti-trans accounts- Transgendertrd & LGB Alliance.

Then two known women's rights orgs- Fawcett Society and Women's Equality Party.

Note the massive follower overlap with anti-trans accounts, not for women's rights orgs.
Now let's look at Domestic Violence & Rape Crisis orgs.

Edinburgh Women's Aid, Glasgow Women's Aid, Women's Aid Scotland, Refuge, Women's Aid (UK), Rape Crisis Scotland, Glasgow Rape Crisis, Edinburgh Rape Crisis.

No significant overlap in followers with forwomenscot.

The first time I ever saw DRAG I was about 8.

Our school took us to see Cinderella, the thing I remember most is the Ugly Sisters. They were hilarious, I still recall the jokes.

There was also a principle boy, who ended up with the Princess. Girl in Drag, with girl, in the 80s!
Being in a theatre was magical, surprising and revelatory. It made me want to act.

Not long after I auditioned and won the part of the Witch in the school play, here's 9yr old me in drag!

Years later I went on to do panto myself, here performing with the brilliant Philip Meeks.
That shy bullied 9 year old boy found himself on stage. In performance I could be whoever I wanted to be.

Not only was that the first every audition I won, but our show was selected for Accent on Schools & we performed to schools and parents from all over Falkirk.

Who are LGB Alliance?

Are they an LGB rights organisation, or are they an anti-trans organisation?

Can they be both?

I did some analysis of their followers to find out.

A THREAD⬇️
First off, let's compare accounts of similar sizes.

Comparing the followers of Alliance LGB to two gender critical (anti-trans) accounts, see the overlap. Many shared followers.

Compare with two LGBT+ orgs, Equality Network and LGBT Consortium. No overlap. Few shared followers.
Now let's look at other LGBT+ orgs.

Comparing to Stonewall, Gay Civil Rights, Stonewall Scotland, LGBT Youth Scotland.

Again, very little overlap.

Followers of LGB Alliance don't seem to follow other LGBT rights organisations.
