I can remember when Republicans were ALWAYS on message, no matter how ridiculous, they fed their base with whatever message it took to win. And then there's Syndey Powell on the Lou Dobbs show tonight. A thread.
SP is Trump's Qraken attorney. Lou Dobbs has a HUGE audience. "Where are we in this fight for the WH? We are making great progress, Lou, we have one case in ... GA ... that's getting ready to go to the 11th Circuit.... WE SOUGHT TO IMPOUND ALL THE VOTING MACHINES IN GEORGIA.
(And if that's not nuts enough) "AND WE NEED TO STOP THE ELECTION THAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN IN JANUARY BECAUSE ALL THE MACHINES ARE INFECTED WITH THE SOFTWARE CODE THAT ALLOWS DOMINION TO SHAVE VOTES FOR ONE CANDIDATE AND GIVE THEM TO ANOTHER"
Let's break that down: 1) you are asking (hardee har har) the courts to take ALL the voting machines; 2) because you want to STOP the January senate election; and 3) it's because the machines switch votes *away from Trump* in ... wait for it ... Georgia.
This is not an on-message get out the vote and energize the base message from the always disciplined Republican party. This is a train wreck - you are telling the base the election might not even happen but if it does, they will get cheated out. And this message is from TRUMP!
Also, asking for the Courts to take ALL the voting machines is about the most hysterically insane type of injunctive relief I have ever heard of that was not written by an no-lawyer psychotic or not-that-smart person writing from jail. @File411@lauferlaw@glennkirschner2
Back to SP ... blah, blah, blah winning is losing, we don't have much evidence, maybe Ghouliani can find something, he's desperate ... "it's really the most massive and egregious fraud the world has ever seen."
Quiz question: name a larger fraud you've seen in the past 10 years. I'll start: Epstein's trip federal prosecution deal.
Lou (looking at actual credible allegation in Georgia from 2016) "The top officials of the Georgia state ... was in a similar situation ... they were sued ... and that server... WAS WIPED. Great idea Lou - let's talk about how Rs with Kislyak's help, delivered GA to Trump 2016
I can't follow what SP is now talking about - something about getting a "restraining order" (which doesn't apply here) about a server because of 2016/Kislyak/Kemp. I am quite sure that evidence from 2016 isn't going to help you 2020, though.
Lou Dobbs is now suggesting that we "prosecute based on their conduct" the republican Governor and Secretary of State of Georgia. That's NOT ON REPUBLICAN MESSAGE, LOU. That's Lou and SP tearing down the Republican party.
As an aside, I don't always agree with @jennycohn1, but she is absolutely correct that the evils ONLY talk about Dominion voting machines, not anything else ... which is strong evidence that Dominion is actually the trustworthy agent here.
SP on the Republican Gov and SecState: "There's a lot of corruption there underneath the surface...unverified tips...SIGNIFICANT BENEFITS (ie bribes)... for deciding to rush in a contract for Dominion for $107M" This is a very serious, slanderous, dangerous allegation-no facts
I can't watch anymore. This is some of the most irresponsible television I have ever seen, coming from the mouths of the President's counsel and one of the most popular personalities in the US. They should pay dearly for this.

Dirk puts on the Rose Colored Glasses and takes a hard look at presidential pardons. Did Trump just checkmate himself in 5D chess? Let's look.
So we have just learned that there is a DOJ investigation into the grant of a presidential pardon in exchange for a bribe. cnn.com/2020/12/01/pol….
Trump, of course, has a long history of having criminals all around him, but he has always seemingly slithered out trouble. How? At least part of it is that he let's others do his dirty work and never QUITE gives orders that can be tied to him. apnews.com/article/7fa7f6…
I used to echo "Dems suck at messaging", but I no longer believe that. These people aren't great at "messaging". Marco Rubio, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan - none are great "at messaging" (Trump maybe)
They aren't great at anything. They are the beneficiaries of an evil 24x7 media firehouse of lies. They don't control it either - they are controlled by it, and are powerless to disagree with it. Pretty sad state of affairs for a US senator to be a mere puppet.
With the rose-coloreds on, its possible to see a brave and determined future prosecutor might be able to find a number of acts by Flynn that are criminal and not part of Mueller's scope or investigation.
Also Rosie-ish: it is within the District Court's powes to determine whether grand jury facts can be released. If he accepts the pardon, then he could also determine that there is no further need to keep the secrets. It's almost necessary, so future prosecutors can know scope
Rosie-ish (h/t @ATLeagle). For all the haters that screamed that @RodRosenstein placed a tight scope on SC Mueller's investigation - the WH limiting its pardon to that scope exposes Flynn to whatever was outside of it.
NEW RULE 1: No one is allowed to rip Pelosi, AOC or any other Dem until they have a working knowledge of why the Rs in the GA run-offs totally suck.
NEW RULE 2: For every 5 posts ripping this massively entitled criminal POS you are allowed one tweet ripping Pelosi/AOC/name the Dem. But really you should just stop it.
NEW RULE 3: If y'all must deep dive in someone's campaign finances, maybe look at hers
