hack n slash with pursuit perks is brutal

she basically opens combat by running up to a dude and hitting him twice, probably critting at least once, and then gets a free third swing

it ends most regular enemies in one round

i remember leaning a lot on snipers in wasteland 2, but so far kale has been... disappointing xD

i maxed his awareness and am stacking luck for crit now but he's still very lackluster

might be his weapon

the heavy weapons like machine guns seem REALLY lackluster like just a huge money/ammo suck with bad damage payoff. rockets are *chef's kiss* tho

steady shot might help a lot if i get to it (10% hit in low cover), but been stacking explosive skill atm

i want 10 explosives so i can get blast radius and just annihilate a group pre-combat if i need to xD

my biggest tip for wasteland 3 so far is to have a high level lockpicker

always max out lockpicking for a ranger

honestly this game feels like the best mix of fallout 1 and neverwinter nights

if you could mod your own scenarios it'd be great

in general i like the way they threaded the map and missions, but it confuses me a little why they ram through high level side quests at the start

you have the whole radio system there, could introduce them as you get closer to those levels at least

some of it is for story reasons, like so-and-so wants revenge but like... you're not tackling the level 18 mission at level 4

there seems to be a bug with rando traders on the world map/colorado where you can somehow click through the trade menu ui and hit the ranger radio, and bringing that dialogue up auto-ends the trade and that encounter :|

i feel like wl3 really missed out on the whole recruit auto-leveling thing, especially since you can lose a bunch of your squad mates near the end of the game depending on what you decide to do

being able to instantly replace them with leveled recruits gives that little weight

hrmmm also can you no longer export rangers? you have to recreate them all every time if you wanna carry them over?

honestly, imo, this is not great rpg design mechanics

just make every step Do The Thing

this always happens because they have X steps and they try to divide every skill by X so they divide the skill effects by X

but they already partially solved this problem... in the perks

every perk corresponds to a skill level, but not every level has a perk

their Big Problem is they wanna give rewards like ap and skill points that don't divide evenly so instead of scaling everything else to accommodate they do this every other deal

which is weird because they figured it out, again partially, with combat speed

because combat speed influences how far you can actually move in combat, per ap

it has its own breakpoint issues but at least it's a lot more granular
