🧑🏻‍💻 Worth noting that Russia hacked into the State Department as part of this months-long campaign
Two State Department diplomats (?) speaking about today’s misadventures, which could have incited violence:

It’s a “closed system” that is “nearly impossible to hack,” said one of the diplomats.

"It's 100% not a hack," they said.

buzzfeednews.com/article/christ…
When the hack was disclosed, Trump tried to protect Russia, and Pompeo was reluctant to say anything.

It’s really hard to simply dismiss what happened today as a “disgruntled employee” in light of Pompeo’s *very public* meeting with the head of Israel’s foreign intelligence agency.

I hope journalists keep probing to better understand today’s events.

👀 Want to see what Trump’s terrorists did in the Capitol on Jan 6th? Here’s a full playlist of publicly posted Parler videos.
Footage of the crowd outside by @sandibachom (follow her):

2:30 — Man with megaphone *during* the attack: [D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser] called the National Guard in here to clear us out. The Defense Department told her, ‘No, thank you.’ [crowd cheers]

Footage from inside the building as terrorists break in. There’s a person with a megaphone describing the floor plan and instructing them where to go.

As you’ll recall, the DoD issued a statement on Jan 7 that, in light of this footage, appears to corroborate the claims made by the terrorists. As well as assertions from Maryland Gov. Hogan.

Since DoD’s original statement, we’ve learned that it took 3 calls from DC Mayor and a FULL HOUR before Sec Army met to discuss the requests, and 1.5 hrs before *verbal approval* for the DC NG was mobilized. DoD omits Maryland’s request.

🔥 Members of the MyPillow Party who believe that a guilt-trip will spare them from accountability will regret insulting our intelligence
Fact is, the MyPillow Party is shrinking by the day, as reported by @POLITICO_Steve:

🔸 More than six in 10 voters — 63 percent — disapprove of Trump

This polling took place after Trump’s failed attempt to overthrow American democracy

“What’s the rush?” says MyPillow Party Rep. Ken Buck when pressed about the need to take action following Trump’s failed coup.

Who wants to tell him?

💩 Nope. I will NOT retweet celebrity journalists with huge platforms that link to scoops and breaking news without giving credit to the journalists that actually did the work.

Also, I have no interest in their quote tweets with derivative “analysis”
It’s shameful how these celebrity journalists w/ hundreds of thousands of followers (or more) go out of their way to:
🔸 follow the link to the story
🔸 copy + paste the URL into a new tweet
🔸 string a few words together and post

Why not just R/T? Why not @ those on the byline?
1/ To be clear: I’m not asking anyone to avoid, or to cancel the folks involved. There’s really just a few of them, and they know who they are…and so do their professional peers and colleagues (some of whom follow me)
