A belief to me proves only the phenomenon of belief, not the content of the belief.

Every form of addiction is bad, no matter whether the narcotic be alcohol or morphine or idealism.
-Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
Touching evil brings with it the grave peril of succumbing to it.
-Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
The individual is so unconscious that he fails to see his own potentialities for decision. Instead he is constantly and anxiously looking around for external rules and regulations which can guide him in his perplexity.
-Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
Meaninglessness inhibits fullness of life and is therefore equivalent to illness. Meaning makes a great many things endurable - perhaps everything.
-Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
It is really the individual's task to differentiate himself from all the others and stand on his own feet. All collective identities, such as membership in organizations, support of "isms," and so on, interfere with the fulfillment of this task.
-Carl Jung
Statements concerning possibility or impossibility are valid only in specialized fields; outside those fields they are merely arrogant presumptions.
-Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
In my medical experience, as well as in my own life, I have again and again been faced with the mystery of love, and have never been able to explain what it is.
-Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
A man who has not passed through the inferno of his passions has never overcome them.
-Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
The greatest limitation for man is the “self”; it is manifested in the experience: “I am only that!”… As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being.
-Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
The unexpected and the incredible belong in this world. Only then is life whole.
-Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"

Affirm things as they are. Live in an unconditional “yes” to that which is, without subjective protests.
-paraphrased from Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
To experience defeat is also to experience victory…for one’s own continuity has withstood the current of life and time.
-Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
The more critical reason dominates, the more impoverished life becomes.
-Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself, or from holding certain views which others find inadmissible.
-Carl Jung "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
The wrong we have done, thought, or intended will wreak its vengeance on our souls.
-Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
How can anyone live without inconsistency?
-Carl Jung, "Memories, Dreams, Reflections"
"Emotional ties are very important...But they still contain projections & it is essential to withdraw these ...Emotional relationships are relationships of desire, tainted by coercion & constraint; something is expected from the other person and that makes him & ourselves unfree"
End Jung quotes. Thanks for reading. Posting not just to share, but to remember the reading highlights. One interesting aside is when Jung notes, "Christ’s activities as Christ probably lasted no more than a year." It impels one to meditate on what they can accomplish in a year.

A recipe for frustration and unhappiness is trying to get your childhood needs met by independent adults.
"Then how should I get those needs met?"
Meet them yourself. Be the parent to yourself that you needed, not the one you had.
"What if it's the type of need that only someone else can fill?"
Then ask for it directly and be willing to hear a no (without consequences for the other person). Freedom and release are experienced more in the vulnerable sharing of the need than getting it met.
With Bitcoin blowing past $20k today, crypto fever is back. Yet most describe it as a “new class of assets.” Which critically underplays the disruption that is blockchain. So here’s my thread/primer on it. It's worth understanding, because some version of this is the future:
There’s a revolution in progress that has the potential to advance the Internet era from adolescence to maturity, and in the process, alter nearly every major industry and government, and to completely disrupt the financial sector.
The engine behind this change is blockchain—or, more broadly, distributed ledger technology. Some are already calling this the fourth industrial revolution (as significant as the steam engine, electricity, and the microchip before it).
We’ve been brainwashed by the culture to expect an ideal of love & relationships that’s unrealistic for most. If you weren’t loved & cared for properly as a child then released with compassion & acceptance as an adolescent, then love is a skill that must be laboriously learned 1/
You may feel the emotion known as love for others, but to be in a healthy and intimate long-term love relationship will require the equivalent of learning a new skill or trade. You’re not just going to meet the right person and suddenly know how to do it right. 2/
As for relationships, we’ve also been misled. Romantic movies end at the moment when desire, fear, or separation end and mutual love begins. And we presume it’s happily ever after from there. But in a real relationship, that’s when the actual work begins. 3/
Closed Loop (0 degrees of separation): Anyone you are coming into contact with is not coming into contact with anyone else, and all are healthy.
Example: You are only in proximity to your partner and children, and they are not coming into contact with anyone else. 1/
Closed Loop (1°): Same as above, but people in your circle are coming into contact w others. However, those others aren't in contact w anyone outside your circle
Ex: You're only in proximity to a partner but they visit a relative or friend, who isn't in contact w anyone else 2/
Closed Loop (2°): Same as above, but one more degree of separation
Example: You are only in proximity to your partner and children, but your partner sometimes visits a friend. The only other person that friend visits is their parents, who are not seeing anyone else. 3/
Much of what we believe is not logical. It is patho-logical. In other words, from the perspective of prolonging our suffering (pathos), it *is* logical.
There are too many people who would rather be right and suffer than wrong and happy.
Response: But I can’t be happy if I’m wrong.
Answer: Thats exactly the point. Let go of the need to be right - and not only can you be happier, but you can learn.
