House Rules Committee Chairman McGovern to Rep Jim Jordan:
"Will you admit the Joe Biden won the election fair and square and that the election was not rigged or stolen?"
Jordan initially refuses to answer whether Biden won "fair and square" but says Biden is president-elect
Jordan: "What I did over the past several months is follow the process that the constitution prescribes --"
McGovern: "That's not the question I asked -- we don't need a filibuster"
Jordan: "at 4 am on Thursday day January 7th when we concluded our count on the House floor Joe/
"Biden -- Vice President Joe Biden -- is now President-elect Joe Biden"
McGovern: "So is that a yes?"
Jordan: "Of course it's a yes."
McGovern: "I am asking you to make a statement that the election was not stolen. That's the question."
After some back and forth, McGovern: "If we want to talk about healing, we have to talk about truth and if we want to talk about healing then we have to deal with the issue of accountability and what this president did last Wednesday was inexcusable and intolerable"
McGovern: "I am stunned that after all that has happened that we can't get a definitive answer."
Jordan: "Mr. Chairman I said Joe Biden won the election but there were issues in the way it was done."
Yesterday President Donald Trump awarded Rep. Jim Jordan the presidential medal of freedom
