People spot this every so often: THIS IS GOING TO HURT has been the #1 Espionage title for years. Amazon sensibly allows us to categorise books, and you can be in loads of different sections. So, this book for instance is in main categories such as Biography and Medicine. (1/4)
You can also put it in obscure subcategories - this book is also in ones like Business Humour and Doctor-Patient Relations. Authors and publishers like this because you can become a #1 bestseller in sub-sub-subcategories by selling about four copies. (2/4)
No one at the publisher could remember putting it into War & Espionage. But it was there, sure enough, so they unselected that category from its listing. The next day, it reappeared. They deleted it again, and it reappeared the next day. Rinse and repeat about ten times. (3/4)
Thinking it was a mad glitch, they got in touch with Amazon directly. It turns out that because the subtitle includes the words "Secret Diary", the system automatically and unavoidably categorises it as an espionage book. (4/4)
Also, I'm a spy.

I've had quite a few DMs asking how they should vote in support of the NHS, so I thought I'd also put it up here. In my opinion, Brexit will be A VERY BAD THING for the NHS. The number of staff returning home to the EU mainland will accelerate (this is already happening a lot).
Whether or not the NHS will be "on the table" (spoiler alert: it will), one thing that unequivocally will be up for grabs is drugs. We pay a lot less for drugs than Americans. The pharma companies will want to close this gap, and this won't mean making Americans pay less btw.
All the NHS money comes from one pot. More money spent on drugs will mean less money to be spent in other places. Some politicians might tell you that the NHS will actually IMPROVE after Brexit. Only 7% of NHS staff share this view (YouGov poll). Maybe think about why this is.
