$MP China’s October rare earth imports from the US increased 81% on the year according to Chinese customs data. Following the cookie crumbs - more below argusmedia.com/en/news/216428…
First, $MP is the only operating rate earth mine the Western Hemisphere.. could this mean all the imports were metals mined by $MP? Probably but let’s double check
Did some research and there are other rare earth producers in the US such as $UUU but none compare to $MP as a majority are in pre production phases or financially weak reuters.com/article/us-usa…
As I referred to in my pinned thread, I focus on finding the best pick and shovel plays in each industry. I'll be doing deep dives on each of the industries I listed and wanted to start off with renewable energy
First, the renewable energy market:
- Roughly $1T and expected to reach $1.5T by 2025
- In it's simplest form, renewables can be defined as technologies that convert the energy from different natural sources such as sun, tides, wind etc. into its usable forms of electricity
Continuous advancement in technologies and increased government funding offer lucrative growth opportunities moving forward
$SKLZ started nibbling when it was $FEAC bc I found it intriguing. After heavy DD I went all in. Commons and leaps are looking mighty fine, expecting it to continue to rise once more people understand their vision
One quick thing I wanted to address: the “their app / games suck” argument is flawed imo. If you look at apps developed on $SKLZ the best ones are top 1-15 on the App Store
Many of their games don’t appeal to regular console gamers, yes, but the mobile gaming market is much bigger than people realize
One of the industries that could see strong growth in the next few years is sports betting and gambling. A lot of talk about $PENN & $DKNY but I haven't seen much on $DMYD - the best pick and shovels play imo
Ok, so first a little about the space:
- Global sportsbetting market expected to double to $60B by 2025, from $31B in 2020
- Only 19 states have legalized sports betting, federal legalization could be massive catalyst
Interesting, so what makes $DMYD special? They are one of the two market leaders that operate as a duopoly (other market leader is SportsRadar and still private)
When it comes to renewable energy a lot of focus I'm seeing is on solar / battery storage. I agree as they have significant growth ahead but we shouldn't neglect the wind industry
Generally speaking, I believe nuclear energy is the route we need to take but there is a long way before that can become a reality
Regarding wind energy, my favorite plays are $VWDRY and $TPIC .
