Press Statement

The attention of the Youth Wing of Southern kaduna People's Union (SOKAPU) has again been drawn to an eleven (11) point press statement issued
and signed by one Professor Isa Mohammed Maishanu on behalf of Muslim Solidarity Forum Sokoto on Tuesday the 12th day of January 2021, asking Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah to leave the Seat of Caliphate (Sokoto), and also trying to incite the peace loving people of Sokoto and the
North against the Bishop over his Christmas message where the Bishop out of passionate patriotism voiced out the obvious truth when he said " Every honest Nigerian knows that there is no way any Non-Nothern Muslim President could have done a fraction of what President Buhari has
done with his Nepotism and gotten away with it."

We are however dismayed and pained that a Professor will condescend this low, throwing caution to the wind and towing the path of religious rascality and bigotry by deliberately attempting to window dressed the Bishop's message
with religious colorations and further inciting the general Muslim Ummah against the Bishop.

The demeaning call by the so-called Professor for Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah to "apologise to the Muslim Ummah or quickly and quietly leave the Seat of the Caliphate" is not just
ridiculous and unacceptable but an affront to the rights of all Nigerians to live and resides freely in all parts of the country. We believe that the reckless statement credited to the Professor does not in anyway reflect the position of a responsible group such as the Muslim
Solidarity Forum.

While we call on the Department of State Services to as a matter of urgency arrest Professor Isa Mohammed Maishanu to serve as deterrence to those already brain washed and misled by his unguided statements and prevent a religious war, We are equally urging the
professor to as a matter of public interest and safety submit himself to the nearest psychiatric home for an immediate psychological examination for shamelessly trying to establish a Nexus between Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah's message and Muslims vis Avis Islam.
The youths and People of Southern kaduna hereby unequivocally warns that we will not accept further attacks on the person and character of Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah under any pretence.

Neither professor Isa Mohammed Maishanu nor any person or group of persons can mourn
more than the bereaved.

The Bishop message was directed to the powers that be and cannot in any way be said to have been directed to Muslims and Islam a religion well known to profess peace.

The youths of Southern kaduna therefore vow to reciprocate any form of attack
directed or aimed at putting the Bishop in harm's way by any group of ethnic loyalists, religious extremists and enthusiasts.

Imagine for a minute that you are a trained soldier.

In fact, a Lieutenant.

You have a wife and two kids.

Now, imagine that during the quarterly rotation, you were sent to Bornu to fight insurgence (Boko Haram)

On this fateful day, as you were moving with your platoon.
There was an ambush.

Gun fire ensured.

You shot with all you've got.
You know that you have a slim chance of surviving the attack.

As you were running out of ammo, you called john, your buddy, for fresh supply.

No response.
You glanced and saw John's head split into two halves.
By your left is Barry, his torso turn and one of his arm lying 10 ft away.

With nothing to fight with, you made a run for it and took a deep dive into the abondoned crater while bullets were getting fired at you.

A mother of three, Mrs Chinyere Uzowulu, has cried for help over the alleged vandalism of the family house by her husband, Chief Afam Uzowulu, who is a retired depot manager of @NNPCgroup for challenging the divorce from him and refusing to vacate the house with her children.
“we are presently in the Supreme Court over the house and divorce. After demanding for 50 per cent of my earnings as a condition for peace. When I refused, he went to court for divorce and to eject his three kids and I from the house.
"I opposed it BECAUSE I CONTRIBUTED FINANCIALLY TO THE BUILDING OF THE HOUSE. I am also challenging the divorce and his sending of the kids to the street.

In the final weekend before Christmas, it was announced that parts of England would enter a new stricter Tier 4 lockdown over concerns of a more infectious COVID-19 strain.
In response, France blocked all travel from the UK, initially set to last for 48 hours from Sunday, including a ban on British freight hauliers. Other countries across Europe also suspended flights from the UK.
With just a few days left until the end of the Brexit transition period, there were already concerns about the UK’s food supply. While 52% of the country’s food needs are met by domestic production, about 29% of food comes from EU countries.

Politicians have been pop culture icons in Africa since the dawn of the liberation struggle: Kwame Nkrumah, Steve Biko, Julius Nyerere, Patrice Lumumba, to name just a few. But nowadays politicians are also actual pop stars – and their revolutionary fashions set trends.
Ugandan singer and politician Bobi Wine is a case in point. He has used fame and a flashy red beret to create his iconography. Julius Malema in South Africa has also tapped into the pop appeal of red. Carla Lever considers the rise of the red beret in the political landscape.
For his part, Gibson Ncube looks at political pop from an entirely different angle: the negative stereotypes that define women politicians within the patriarchal mainstream.

Dear Kano State Hisbah Baird,

My attention has been drawn to the fact that you want to descend on Cool FM. In an attempt to link 'Black Friday' to religion, you ignorantly wrote to Cool FM, issuing threats. Hence, it is of essence I take special pains to educate you about it.

The term "Black Friday" was actually first associated with financial crisis, not sales shopping . Two Wall Street financiers Jim Fisk and Jay Gould, together bought a significant amount of US gold in the hope of the overall price soaring and in
turn being able to sell it for huge profits.

On Friday 24 September, 1869, in what became referred to as "Black Friday", the US gold market crashed and Fisk and Gould's actions left Wall Street barons bankrupt.
