The same people who stormed the capitol are the same people who gleefully support police violence against Black and Brown people.

The same people who terrorize churches and synagogues.
The flags I saw at most often at the assault on the capitol?

Trump Flag
BlueLivesMatter Flag
Confederate Flag

This is not a coincidence.

This is literally how it works.

America's racism was leveraged to minimize and dismiss white violence.
The police stood shoulder to shoulder with this mob of violent supremacists up until the moment that they turned on them.

America made police into gods.

Those gods conferred their blessing onto white terrorism, not realizing that fascism is fickle.
White supremacists seduced America into defending their views, making space for them, shielding them from accountability and elevating them into positions of power.

Racism is how the Capitol got stormed.

Anti-Black hatred is the foundation upon which the attack was built.
America spent years "both-siding" anti-fascism and fascism.

Because the loudest anti-fascists were anti-racists.

And America doesn't like people who stand up for Black and Brown people.

So they handled the actually deadly white fascists with kid gloves.
Even now, the Democrats will not acknowledge this direct thread.

They are so afraid of being tagged with the property damage of anti-Brutality protests that they won't draw the straight lines from opposition to Black lives mattering to an attempt at violent overthrow of US Govt.
This of course is the consequence of pursuing peace without justice.

Justice is reckoning with white supremacy, on the mob side AND the police side.

Peace is pretending it never happened and that the causality does not exist so that people are quiet.
Loyalty to peace over justice means that American society would rather ignore the festering cancer of white supremacy while living in denial of the fact it's been metastatic for some time now.

The result? People giving the heil while putting Congress under seige.
Not even those who are now standing up in Congress to decry this authoritarian power grab have the capacity to acknowledge what is glaringly obvious to anyone who looks.

Trump, racists, nazis and cop fanatics shared a common goal -- to take down Democracy.
Nobody on any side of this Congressional debate will speak to how American coddling of and participation in white supremacy has brought us to the position where the merits of violently storming the capitol to overturn an election is debatable.
America is reaping the harvest of its centuries of default racism.

It did not resist when the GOP mainstreamed, empowered and armed white supremacists under Trump

It did not resist because it was not concerned.

It didn't see danger. It saw tackiness

It wasn't worth resisting.
This fascism will continue to grow.

You can tell because those who proudly tout it will suffer no consequences for doing so

We are still allowing supporters of insurrection against US Government to control it.
Biden and the Democrats will not stop the rising tide of white supremacist fascism.

It's not that they are not able.

It's that they won't.

Because in order to do so they'd have to actually fight racism.

And they won't.

Even when it's life and death for them.
America's dogmatic refusal to inspect its own racism means that it will continue to be hospitable to the most extreme and violent racists among them.

America would literally rather die than face its racism.

And it just might.
The thread from dismissing the alt-right as a cute distraction to being concerned over the state of American governance is straight and taut.

It's not accidental. It is cynical and calculated.

This did not come out of nowhere. The groundwork has been laid for years.

This is in the thread above but most people don't check subthreads so I'm posting here.

It's a Layer-by-Layer breakdown of the Trump/White Nationalist syndicate.

There is nothing new or controversial about the fact that white supremacist and law enforcement are inextricably entangled.

It's public information that everyone who matters just pretends doesn't exist.

People are out there wondering why the law enforcement/security response against siege on the Capitol while Congress was in session, WITH advance knowledge while ignoring that on the largest scales, they were all in it together.
The Federal Government knew it and other police agencies had been steadily infiltrated by white nationalists.

They knew that the President was a friend of white nationalism

They knew that "war" was planned that day

But nothing. For hours on end.
Police have had more rapid militarized responses to protest happening on random streets in Black neighborhoods across the country than they did in the heart of the nation's capital under direct assault.

This isn't accidental.
By and large, America will move on.

It will find a way to justify all of this and pretend that nothing systemic is broken.

It will wait out Covid and go back to brunch and pretend to be surprised anew the next time white supremacists go on a violent rampage.
Democrats will continue to act as if "Defund the police" is some unrelated radical demand even with proof of what sustaining the symbiosis between law enforcement and white supremacy brings about.

The GOP will pretend it has any conscience whatsoever.

And America will eat it up
Active duty Law Enforcement Officers participated in the assault on the Capitol.

Trump is sending in the National Guard to deal with the Trump mob assault on the Capitol.
And no. These are not protestors. This is a group specifically encouraged by the Executive Branch to attack the Legislative Branch.

These are agents of the President.
Trump is actually attempting to play both sides of this.

He sent white supremacists to disrupt the certification of the President and now hopes on the other end to position himself as savior, as long as nobody notices the giant Trump flags...

These figures are not at all supported by the resources you provided.

The school cost per pupil in philly is $826.43

Literally given the data YOU provided.
Nevertheless... raw numbers divided by total population is nonsense because it's not at all how those resources are divided.

Funding for services goes disproportionally to white, higher income areas while funding for police disproportionately is spent to police poor Black areas.
Here's how funding looks in Philly

Maybe 10% - 20% of police funding is Federal, tops.

So that's how much the police get from the Feds ALONE.
This doesn't count money from other funding sources, like state and City coffers as well as the bank they make on the side from civil assets forfeiture.
This is why the Police in Philly have autonomous robot dogs and kids in Philly lack crayons.

GOP wants to prove that they're not a Trump cult?

Impeach him. There's plenty of time. No reason they can't.

Otherwise don't believe a word they say.

They're not going to actually be responsible. They'll just pretend they are.
The GOP impeaching Trump right now would show the world that even they have limits and stand for competency and integrity in government.

A unified Congress could get it done in days.

But they won't. And this is proof of their bluff.

They want credit without action.

Deny them.
If the GOP cared about America or even the integrity of their party, they'd take the easy choice -- impeach a lame duck President who's gonna be gone in a month anyway.

It would barely speed things up, but the political effect would be massive.

That they don't shows motive.

While I give KCS no cookies for writing this too little, too late piece, it's an excellent depiction of journalism's role in directly perpetuating white supremacy.

kansascity.com/news/local/art…
Most notably, it's an admission to and a vindication of the grossly biased coverage Black communities have railed against for generations

We were told that we were being too sensitive, playing the race card, that we had a persecution complex

Gaslit for centuries

But here it is
Journalism is history.

It is where the stories of our society are most commonly recorded.

When journalism erases people or warps their images, it does so not only for the next day's readers, but forever.

The news is posterity.

Absolutely nothing.

Go ahead. Think of something.

Yep. That too.
We STARTED with "Bought a beauty pageant so he could see naked, underaged, teenage girls backstage"

We just pressed on from there.

It's bizarre that anyone thinks there's a limit.
Around the time everyone saw a Presidential candidate drooling over his daughter and the self-proclaimed avatars of family values said "That's our guy" we should have said

"Welp. They believe nothing. Let's move on without them"

But we pretended morality was still in play.
