Sixty years ago Law Enforcement was very focused on the radical black threat. Forty years ago law enforcement was very focused on the radical white threat. We neutralized each for a time as our two political parties decided they could co-opt each for their benefit.
But the problem remains that our two political parties never deliver on the promises they make to each demographic because neither disadvantaged blacks, nor dead-ended whites, both with no attractive future in sight, are not who funds these parties and not who they serve.
Monied interests, both individual, family and corporate, are engaged and have long been engaged in an effort to manipulate and divide the US working class by manufacturing racial, religious and ethnic conflict for their benefit.
Guiding my interpretation of today's events is my belief that Republicans with the white supremacists, militias, the Democrats with BLM, Antifa, the middle dragged left and right, kept at one another's throats by giant media funded by billionaires, is in large part manipulation.
Of course last week it went too far. The guy who wrote Josh Hawley a six million dollar check was looking for a disruptor to prevent changes to tax policy, not a revolution. Even Charles Koch and Rupert Murdoch seem aware they have to pull it back.
Now we see corporations vowing not to write checks to the insurrectionists and seditionists, while being careful to mention they will still write checks to the Party PACs. They want to bring down the temperature, look responsible, but not relinquish control.
Now we see a radio network ordering its verbal bomb throwers like Mark Levin to stop claiming the election was stolen. “We need to help induce national calm NOW,” Brian Philips, executive vice president of content for Cumulus Media, wrote in an internal memo.
I expect to see a brief period where Hannity, maybe even the Young Turks, appear to dial it down from eleven to nine. But the effort to keep non-wealthy Americans focused on hating each other will continue as the 1% pockets another four trillion dollars in United States IOUs.
As long as we're at each other's throats over the scraps we will never notice that the vast majority of America is being reduced to serfdom and the middle class is going the way of the dodo. 40% of our college graduates can't find work requiring a degree. Upward mobility is dead.
I'm telling you friends it's a sucker's game and I'm through playing. I'm throwing a lasso on myself and calming my rage. That part of me that sees my nation threatened, that part that was trained to go to war with the enemy. I've gotta get a grip.
This threat is real, but manufactured by forces in the shadows, and in the light of day, who profit from the conflict. I will not contribute to the mayhem. I will hold accountable those who commit acts of mayhem and insurrection, but I know from whence it comes.
The corruption poisoning our nation, and the malefactors peddling the poison, must be our focus. Dark money in our politics must go. Political front groups must go. Media propagandists, billion dollar campaigns, these are weapons in the hands of those who have subjugated us all.
We have to help each other past the fear and alienation. Give every American a shot at a future worth living. That's gonna take effort, and a lot of the accumulated wealth the wealthy accumulators will fight dirty to keep. Whether they're the enemy or a team player is up to them.
But I will not be manipulated into focusing on the shiny object and overlook the fact that our billionaires are doubling their wealth by bribing our politicians as our food lines stretch by miles and our dead pile up in freezer trucks.
Nothing will get done until we eradicate the corruption of our politics by billionaire donors, PACs, think tanks, bogus 501cs, and front groups which all connect back to the billionaires/corporations profiting without contributing.
The energy we're putting into this internal conflict must be redirected at the real movers behind it. The enemy is not the Iowan soybean farmer that was fed a lie about election fraud. The enemy is the Australian son-of-a bitch whose fake news network fed him the lie.
"If we don't hang together we will all hang separately." Never more true than this moment. There are organizations out there, like RepresentUS, focused on a state-by-state battle to pass anti-corruption legislation. That's where I will be putting my energy. Pick your own battle.

There are those saying the USPS controversy is overblown. In any intelligence analyst scrum there's always a guy insisting, "nothing to see here, move along," and his nemesis insisting, "It's the zombie apocalypse, call in the air strikes." It's not apocalyptic, ut it's serious.
I stopped counting at 17 states the RNC has filed suit in to prevent mail in balloting. Among them, Iowa, Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, California, all 67 counties of Pennsylvania. Just Google "RNC sues over mail in balloting".
You do not have to be a legendary intelligence analyst to figure out that the Republicans believe, to the tune of 10 million dollars, that mail-in voting is very, very bad for them. Why else would they spend millions in state courts across the land to stop it?

In any intelligence analyst scrum there's a guy insisting, "nothing to see here, move along," his nemesis saying, "It's the zombie apocalypse, call in the air strikes," and the guys that do the work, largely to embarrass the first two guys. SO let's do the work.
I stopped counting at 17 states the RNC has filed suit in to prevent mail in balloting. Among them, Iowa, Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, California, all 67 counties of Pennsylvania. Just Google "RNC sues over mail in balloting" (1.5 million results).
You don't have to be a legendary CIA analyst to figure out that the Republicans believe, to the tune of 10 million dollars, that mail-in voting is very bad for them. But what about claims that absentee balloting does not favor one party over the other, or even favors the GOP?
