The governmemt has dropped the ball on covid.

By focusing on everyone they have neglected the over 80s and failed to protect them.

Deaths despite the vaccinated 33% are still rising fast.

Could the government have done better?

Yes
The governments weird perverted focus on under 60s being locked up, or wearing a mask or excising by the sea has meant they have systematically failed to take critical prevention steps for the over 80s.
Instead of putting the UK resources behind a national shielding program to support over 80s they have squandered it on furlough for all.

Instead of investing in extra care home workers and prevention systems they launched the failed, track and trace for all.
Instead of ensuring over 80s had dedicated shopping times and had with disabled and diabetic people all home deliveries slots ring fenced they instead, well they did nothing.
The simple fact is the government have failed the over 80s, kicking them out of hospitals untested to infect more over 80s.

This is what you call endemic failure.

Hot News - NHS Care Home Admissions

A repeat of the Wave 1 Problem
Scotland has similar problems..
To note there is no evidence that any of these people have had the vaccines. These could all be non vaccinated cases. So links drawn to that are not evidenced.

1 - Until you have had a panic attack, felt your chest go tight, suffer from a health condition, petrified of enclosed spaces, you have no concept of the effect of a mask.

Nor on those who struggle seeing you wear them.

But now we are seeing a government, actively encouraging..
2 - discrimination, harassment, bullying, targeting and humilation of and refusal of basic services to disabled people.
Yes of course there are micky takers. But 18% of the uk have a health condition and are protected by Equality Act 2010. Half of which are impacted a great deal.
3 - but this policy by @BorisJohnson @MattHancock @pritipatel is so abhorrent, so disgusting it targets those most vulnerable in our society.

Instead we could have offered non-mask wearers with health conditions dedicated free times to shop, or assured them home deliveries

I AM AMAZED AT THE STUPIDITY OF SOME PEOPLE WHO THINK IT IS OK TO REQUIRE SOMEONE WITH A DISABILITY TO WEAR A LABEL TO JUSTIFY ENTERING A SHOP.

WTF IS WRONG WITH SOME OF YOU????
I mean seriously how fcuked up are some of you, how nanny state, so dependent on narrative soundbites and so free of independent thought and feelings that you think it is ok to ostracise 18% of UK people..

Furious
@Morrisons you have set equality legislation and advancement back twebty years with your discrimatory label policy.

Shameful

Experiment:

Lockdowns are brilliant and people should comply.

Biden is Brilliant

Save the NHS

Wear a Mask

Stay at home.

(Bear with me on this tweet)
Yep as I thought, and suspected...

Of course twitter is not manipulating feeds, follower or content..

like helll
My followers that had gone down all day jumped by 11, and the tweet got more impressions with less retweets than one with 50 times the number of retweets.

Just a test folks, I used to #

and No I have not changed teams!!!

My simple question to all that attack those who question the benefits of lockdown is..

Why could we not have done a full shielding program instead?

Open to all answers..

#LockdownsVshielding
If you support lockdowns say why shielding was not better, and vica versa..

Generally interested it all views here..
Still waiting for a logical lockdown supporting person to explain why it is better than shielding...

Whatever people may think of the current crisis, a debate, open and fair with people able to express views without being attacked is essential.

At the moment, anyone who thinks lockdowns cause harm are labelled as nuts, and those who think being locked up are sane & community >
minded. So if you question dogma you are a nut, if you accept it you are perfectly sane.

If you see unusual data sets that do not appear to make sense, you are a conspiracy theorist, but accept them blindly and you are sane >
If you want all the data published you are a trouble maker, and if you accept that certain data has to be taken on face value without question you are sane.

At some point, those in favour of lockdowns must publish all the data to justify them. Otherwise you are surely not >
