Why you don't want to get Covid. Thread.

Husband now has my cold. I was under the weather. He can't breathe, racked by the most devastating cough that rends my heart. Last 2 times he's had a cold he's ended up with pneumonia.

12 years ago, he picked up a bad cold in Japan. 1/
He came back with a high fever and an overwhelming hacking cough. He also, bizarrely, lost his sense of smell for 6 months.

Sound familiar? Looking back on it he had all the symptoms of a coronavirus similar to Covid (though obviously not Covid 19). 2/
He had the cough for a month, and his lungs never recovered. Having been healthy before, he has had chronic asthma ever since. His lungs are susceptible to every URTI going; we have to try very hard not to give him our colds. Worse though: 3/

NOW I have the travel itch back. I want to hang out with my friends in India, whom I miss very much. I want to sit in fading sunlight at the foot of a Mughal monument, to promenade on Marine Drive, to have an evening drink in one of Jaipur's fine havelis, and hilsa in Kolkata.
Oh, and that's just for starters.
Notice I don't actually want to do any work. I just want to see my friends and drink the atmosphere.
