10 years on the run; NDLEA @ndlea_nigeria eventually arrest Lagos drug baron

The suspect escaped arrest in June 2010 for unlawful importation of 5.250kg of heroin concealed in books from Karachi, Pakistan to Lagos

Gen Buba Marwa is doing Magic, NDLEA came alive under him👊 Image
Putting the estimated street value of the seized drugs at over N50 million, the Adamawa State Commander of the NDLEA, Idris Bello, while briefing the Chairman/Chief Executive of the agency, Brig. General Buba Marwa (retd) on Saturday,
Said other illicit drugs recovered from Imam include Tramadol capsules (100mg) weighing 550grms; Diazepam tablet 850grms.

He said the drug trafficker was arrested in a house at Unguwan Madina, Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
On Olife’s arrest, a statement by the agency noted that in June 2010, following vital intelligence on the drug source, flight details, date & place of arrival, weight & mode of concealment, name, phone number and address of the recipient of the consignment, a planned controlled
Delivery operation was coordinated and led by the Commander NDLEA’s JTF, DCN Adeniyi Olumuyiwa.

It added that the careful execution of the operation led to the arrest of Oladimeji Oladotun and Alhaji Danjuma Idris, while processing the documents for clearing the consignment.
Both were the clearing agents hired by Chidi Olife, the owner of the drug.

Upon being arrested, Alhaji Danjuma was used to effect the arrest of Oke Ningo, who Chidi contacted to receive the consignment from the agents on his behalf.
Unfortunately, he escaped arrest at the point of receiving the drug as he suspected the person with the clearing agent to be an NDLEA officer.
Subsequently, the house of Chidi Olife was traced to a street in Ajao Estate area of Lagos. But before the JTF team could get there he had escaped with all members of his household.
The undaunted JTF team of officers placed surveillance on him. Their resilience yielded fruit 10 years after.

Olife was eventually arrested and is currently cooling off in NDLEA’s custody, while a manhunt for Oke Ningo, his associate continues.

ON CRYpto currency BAN

Do you know that the CBN actually waited till FBI Warned that Scammers are Using it to Defraud?

Nigeria is the 2nd highest crypto destination in the world wt $1,200billion a month without economic factor

Even kidnappers had switched to bitcoin for ransom
“FBI had discovered that fraudulent Nigerians, popularly known as yahoo boys, took control of large chunks of money released as stimulus for the COVID-19, which has put many Americans out of jobs"

😄Many of them collected Millions from US and run back home(Story for another day)
In order to avoid detection, these fraudsters had been sending millions of dollars to Nigeria through cryptocurrencies. This made it difficult for the authorities in both Nigeria & the US to trace the illicit monies.

They are in Lagos & Abuja spending Dollars.....FBI is coming

At the prayers/celebration of life for Alhaji Sadiat Abeke Erogbogbo (Hon Abike Dabiri Erewa's Mom)

Topic: Celebration of life

The Covid19 Protocol was top-notch.
Everybody was on Mask😷 & thousands joined via ZOOM

Let the memory of THE KIND TEACHER be with us forever🙏
Alhaja was born in Kano and educated in Lagos.

She later taught in Kano, Lagos and Jos, where she impacted positively on the lives of students who passed through her tutelage, hence the sobriquet, ‘Kind Teacher.’
The death of Alhaja did not strike me immediately. She was a constant in my life since the beginning and although she was getting old and it was inevitable at the same time it always seemed far into the future.

#EndSARS: CBN gets court order to freeze accounts of 20 promoters.

When I saw the news, I quickly remember the BOFIA 2004 as amended.

Apart from the statutory functions of the @cenbank to ensure monetary stability
Issue legal tender, maintain external reserves, control & supervision of other banks among others that we were taught school, the recent passage of the Amended 30year old (Banks & Other Financial Institution Act of 1990 BOFIA) as Amended in 2004, gave the CBN the power to impose
Review and freeze accounts which are deemed to be linked with suspicious HUGE inflows and also deemed to be linked with criminal and other civil infractions.
