Please stop sneering at ethnic minorities who may be disproportionately skeptical about vaccines, and talk *to* them with trusted voices instead of *at* them using name calling
Here’s the @voxdotcom article I referenced in my video.
I support vaccines, but to sneer at ethnic minorities for being skeptical of government mandated vaccines makes *you* the ignorant one. Not them
“Canada vowed to make Facebook pay for its news content as the social media giant faced international condemnation for imposing a blackout on Australia”
“Facebook has been labelled a “schoolyard bully” for blocking links to news outlets in Australia in response to a planned law requiring it to pay for news shared on its site”
“Canada said that it would not be deterred from implementing a law similar to Australia’s, and appealed for international allies to take on Big Tech”
Today’s UK Supreme Court ruling against Uber & for employment rights is a blow to Big Tech’s rush to a gig economy which sought to sneak in unfettered capitalism & wage-slavery of overwhelmingly migrant drivers, through the backdoor
This may lead to higher Uber ride prices, sending more people back onto public transport, which can reduce the pressure on competitive public transport pricing, making it cheaper, thereby reducing road congestion & contributing to lowering pollution. Not bad for one judgement
This victory for workers may last until automation & driverless cars.
Then we have another grave problem that requires a radical solution:
human vs machine.
“Facebook has blocked Australians from..news content.. The prime minister said Facebook had “unfriended Australia” & its actions were arrogant & bullying & would..widen international fears about..oversized technology companies”
“We will not be intimidated by this act of bullying by Big Tech, seeking to pressure parliament as it votes on our important News Media Bargaining Code,’ Morrison said in a statement”
“These actions..only confirm the concerns that an increasing number of countries are expressing about..Big Tech companies who think they are bigger than governments &that the rules should not apply to them. They may be changing the world, but that doesn’t mean they should run it”
“China is regarded as a critical threat to Britain by 41%..up from 30% last year. Just 22% support the government pursuing any form of economic engagement with China & 15% did not want any level of engagement”
“The policy group said that the level of popular opposition towards economic engagement with China reflected the belief that Beijing used its economic muscle coercively”
“The findings come as the security and foreign policy establishment prepares for the release of the Integrated Review, intended to outline Britain’s post-Brexit policy priorities. The review is expected to focus on recalibrating British foreign policy towards Asia”
“California Gov Gavin Newsom has issued very strict orders during the coronavirus pandemic with bars and indoor dining shuttered and most residents under lockdown”
“Florida Gov Ron DeSantis has issued very few closures and has been very critical of states like California with harsh restrictions”
“Senior academics secured (national security laboratory) Porton Down funding for research while working with Chinese universities linked with the military.”
“Substantial sums from Britain’s national security laboratory helped to finance the development of materials and technology with applications in defence, nuclear power and space”
“Details of collaborations between professors in Britain and China have emerged amid concerns that universities are inadvertently helping hostile states to build weapons by sharing sensitive, dual-use knowledge”
