.@KLoeffler, failed Georgia Senator who ran against stronger gun laws, has the nerve to use a @MomsDemand pic to promote her new organization to *rival* Stacey Abrams. She even superimposed her sign over a Moms Demand Action sign. Shameless and gross.

H/t @charlesbethea #gapol
The photo @KLoeffler pilfered is from a @MomsDemand rally one week after the Parkland mass school shooting at the Georgia statehouse. Over 1,500 Georgians attended, and Republican leaders cut the power so no one could hear what was being said: ajc.com/news/state--re…
And in case you forgot, @KLoeffler was a NRA shill who supported open carry for her white constituents and called open carry by Black Americans mob rule.
.@KLoeffler’s team just swapped out the photo. Let me know if you see a public apology. Also, please follow Stacey Abram’s organization @fairfightaction.

One year ago today, Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man, went jogging through a Georgia neighborhood. He was fatally shot by two white men. It took months and video evidence for police to make an arrest or charge the men with a crime. #AhmaudArbery nytimes.com/2020/04/26/us/…
Initially, law enforcement said the suspects, who claimed #AhmaudArbery was a burglar, were legally open carrying and allowed to make a “citizen’s arrest.” But after a graphic video was released, a Georgia D.A. recommended a Grand Jury review the case. news4jax.com/news/georgia/2…
In June, a Grand Jury indicted three men - Travis McMichael, his father, Greg McMichael, and William R. Bryan - on malice and felony murder charges in #AhmaudArbery's death. The men charged in Arbery's murder still have no trial date. cnn.com/2021/02/23/us/…

While I appreciate your advice (that’s snark), the NRA has worked for decades to force guns into k-12 schools and onto college campuses with the intention of turning the next generation into gun buyers. *Gun safety* courses in public schools are part of their insidious agenda.
In fact, the NRA has suggested kids not be able to move on to the next grade unless they’ve taken a *gun proficiency* course: “It wouldn't matter if they didn't want to learn. We would make it necessary to advance to the next grade.” mediamatters.org/national-rifle…
And do we really want the gun lobby teaching kids about gun safety? They don’t even support secure gun storage in American’s homes. thehill.com/homenews/state…

NEW: The NYAG just moved to dismiss the NRA's bankruptcy case. Their filing includes management self-enrichment spending as evidence. For example, between 2013 and 2017, Wayne LaPierre was "reimbursed for more than $1.2 million in expenses,” including $65,000 in Christmas gifts.
Wayne LaPierre billed the NRA $800 for mosquito control treatments at his home - calling them for "security purposes.” 🙄
There’s also a list of private air travel billed to the NRA. Oh, and the NRA paid Wayne LaPierre's *personal travel consultant* more than $13.5 million between August 2014 andJanuary 2020.

THEY DID IT!!! After YEARS of pushing and advocating for this bill, Maryland @MomsDemand just helped pass a new law requiring background checks on ALL gun sales. Until now, long guns - including semiautomatic rifles - didn’t require a background check. #mdga2021 #mdpolitics ImageImage
Activism is a marathon - not a sprint. Maryland @MomsDemand volunteers started working to pass this bill in 2018. In 2019, the bill almost passed but then a state senator (who’s no longer in office) let the clock run out. Then it passed in 2020, but @GovLarryHogan vetoed it.
But they didn’t give up. They spent countless hours at gun bill hearings and lawmaker meetings to override the Governor’s veto, with help from lawmakers like @VAtterbeary.

This is the FOURTH gun safety bill Maryland @MomsDemand volunteers have helped pass since 2018.

The man who shot and killed two Florida FBI agents was fired from a Broward County computer firm after exploding in rage at a colleague while discussing healthcare issues in the 2016 election. They knew he had guns and feared he’d return with one. #flapol nbcmiami.com/news/local/ex-…
The Florida gunman who killed two FBI agents also had pointed a gun at an exterminator in his apartment complex:
“He was shaken and said, ‘Oh my God, the guy that lived downstairs just had a gun in my face.’” #flapol miamiherald.com/news/local/cri…
The Florida gunman had no criminal record, but was “heavily armed and prepared for combat.” In addition to the high-powered rifle he used to kill the FBI agents, he had additional guns in his apartment. #flapol

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene hasn’t expressed remorse for encouraging violence against Congressional colleagues; harassing gun violence survivors; or her racist, bigoted and sexist views. In fact, she’s fundraising off of it.

She is the Republican party until they excise her.
In fact, House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy took $175,000 from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene earlier this week after it was revealed she had expressed support for executing prominent Democrats in Congress. This payback has been her only “consequence” so far.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was even given a plum role on the House Education and Labor Committee, among other committee assignments - despite spreading conspiracy theories that the shootings in Newtown, Connecticut, and Parkland, Florida, never happened. edweek.org/policy-politic…
