NEW: Jessica Watkins today clarifies that she DID NOT meet with the Secret Service.

"A better verb would have been 'encountered,'" writes the Oath Keeper's lawyer to the court.

This comes after a Sat. filing seeking her release from detention suggested pending trial.
That filing read, in part:

"She was given a VIP pass to the rally. She met with Secret Service agents. She was within 50 feet of the stage during the rally to provide security for the speakers."

It provoked articles like this one:

Now:

"Ms. Watkins does not suggest that she has any direct knowledge that her role as security was sanctioned by anyone other than people involved in organizing the rally. She certainly did not mean to suggest that she was hired by the U.S. Secret Service to perform security."

Turns out it's almost as hard to cancel an Epoch Times subscription as it is to get out of a gym membership. First, it requires you to answer a survey. Image
Then you see a screen informing you that you have to look at a ton of propaganda style content and watch a video before you can cancel. Image
The video, starring the guy with the slightly European accent we see in all their videos, tells us he'll make canceling as simple as possible but first he wants to bring us one more message. "Day after day our freedoms are being taken from us." Image

New: Judge in Michigan kidnapping case has denied motions to reduce $250K bond on brothers Michael & William Null out of concern "for the safety of the public and public officials." However, judge allows a 10% cash surety, meaning they will likely win release pending trial. Image
Per the judge, the Nulls have to wear a GPS tether, cannot have access to firearms of any kind, and must avoid contact with other defendants or any member of Wolverine Watchmen or Michigan Liberty Militia. Another defendant, Shawn Fix, already bonded out with similar conditions.
Here's a video of Bill Null, who works in construction, at a protest over a planned removal of a Civil War statue in Allendale in Western Michigan this past summer. He compares people who want to remove the statute to Nazis.

Meet Kelly Abney, the new Vice President for Transportation Strategy at the US Postal Service under Louis DeJoy.

Previously he was SVP of operation at XPO...under Louis DeJoy.

Prior to that he was an executive at New Breed Logistics...under Louis DeJoy. Image
Up through 2013, records show Abney gave a total of $550 in political contributions in his whole life, all to WalMart's PAC.

In under 2 years with DeJoy, he gave over $30K to Trump and other GOP candidates.

He's one of 4 former DeJoy employees brought in to help the new Postmaster General overhaul the post office since June.

7 years earlier, DeJoy's wife, Aldona Wos, brought in an employee of her husband on a no-bid contract to help her overhaul NC's 2nd largest agency.

FIFA has suspended the Trinidad & Tobago FA, which is pretty close to the death penalty in international football/soccer.

It's depressing, if predictable, outcome to a long running dispute in which FIFA refuses to recognize the authority of national governments and local law. Image
FIFA considers itself sovereign, above all nations. That's particularly the case for smaller, poorer countries.

The attitude is sharply different when it comes to the US Dept of Justice, which FIFA not only recognizes, but also bends over backwards to accommodate.
The same could be said for Switzerland, where FIFA is located. Trinidad is another story.

When the TTFA turned to the courts to question FIFA's installation of a normalization committee against its wishes, FIFA refused to recognize the FA's right to do so.

With so much focus on Suspicious Activity Reports thanks to my colleagues' #FinCENFiles coverage, it's instructive to see a real world example of how law enforcement uses SARs to investigate crimes. So, here's the story of how the feds busted money launderers using a SAR 1/
In the fall of 2011, federal prosecutors in Brooklyn were about a year into their secret investigation of corruption in global soccer. At that point, they had charged nobody, flipped nobody, and had only a few leads. Around then, an IRS agent from California joined the case. 2/
One of the first things he did was to draw up a list of potential suspects and then contact the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or FinCEN, the agency within the Treasury that compiles SARS. He asked for any SARS naming those people, in hopes that he'd find something. 3/
