A few thoughts on the Artemi Panarin situation:

nhl.com/news/new-york-…
First and foremost, I will be the first to admit that if these allegations are true and it can be proven at a court of law that Panarin did beat up an 18-year girl, then he is a disgrace to the sport of ice hockey and should never be allowed to play again anywhere.
Having written that, while I am willing to believe women on the matter of violence allegations, I find allegation from a person who was Panarin's coach at the time and could have done something (like release Panarin) to be a bit less than credible.
This goes double when one considers that unless Andrei Nazarov, the coach making the allegations, actually witnessed the assault he is alleging, anything he could possibly say on the matter is hearsay and normally inadmissible in a court of law.
It goes triple when one considers that Panarin vocally spoken in favor of the Russian dissident Alexei Navalny, thus making himself an opponent of Vladimir Putin.
Where I come from, if someone publicly makes up a story that ruins a person's reputation, that person can be held accountable for libel or slander.
But Nazarov is an honorable man; so are they all honorable men.

Just woke up to find out that (drumroll please)...JOE BIDEN HAS TAKEN THE LEAD IN GEORGIA!!!!!! I think is going to be a good day.
For the record, if you count Arizona for Biden (which some news organizations do, others not), he is now President-Elect. If you don’t count Arizona, he will become President-Elect by picking up either Nevada or Pennsylvania (both of which are seen as highly likely).
In addition, Clayton County, which seems to have swung the results, is partially in the Congressional District that was represented by John Lewis, who I assume is looking proudly down from Heaven tonight.

I have spent a significant portion of my Friday evening in a Twitter war with certain hagiographers of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg I would like to discuss a few things about this with all of you. 1/
There seem to be two camps on Justice Ginsburg. One camp believes that her status as a woman on the Supreme Court makes her a feminist icon above all public criticism. 2/
The other believes that she should have retired during the Obama presidency in order to keep her SC seat in liberal hands. 3/
