They really can’t stop themselves from saying the quiet parts out loud can they?
Also, Merrick Garland is damn good. A travesty that he was blocked from being given a hearing for a seat on the Supreme Court.

This is so incredibly disturbing and any physician who is willing to do this should do themselves a favor and just notify the state medical board on themselves now.
This bill was proposed by @RickJasperse.

I know you aren't a physician, Rick, so I'd be happy to discuss this further with you and why your suggestion is so deeply problematic. Feel free to respond or DM me here.

There can be no compromise with people who want to see you murdered.

There can be no unity with people who believe this, or even those who continue to enable and support this belief from the base of their party all the way to Congress.
That goes for the entire GOP. Marjorie Taylor Greene is the most extreme voice of the party and a QAnon believer, and the GOP has remained silent about her extremism.

washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/…
The article references David Duke and his run for Governor of Louisiana. At least President George H.W. Bush was willing to stand up then:
“When someone asserts that the Holocaust never took place, then I don’t believe that person ever deserves one iota of public trust.”

How long have I been saying this now? I guess it really took an actual insurrection and electing conspiracy theorists who believe Jewish Laser Beams started forest fires and we STILL aren’t there yet.
The GOP has spent literally DECADES wrapping extremists into their tent. This is the monster of their own creation, normalizing their extremism and otherwise ignoring the fundamental shift in their base to keep their votes until they lost control of the monster.
Lindsey Graham was exactly right when he tweeted in 2016 about the GOP:
“If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed … and we will deserve it.”

A reminder that the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) originally sponsored by then Senator Biden in 1994 was not reauthorized because Mitch McConnell is fundamentally evil and simply decided not to bring the House Bill that passed in April 2019 to the floor of the Senate.
Republicans opposed the version of the bill to reinstate VAWA that was passed by the House in April 2019 due to the including of new provisions which protect transgender women and ban individuals convicted of domestic abuse from purchasing firearms.
Therefore, the protections and services offered thanks to the passage of VAWA have been hamstrung ever since, which include:
- Federal rape shield law
- Community violence prevention programs
- Protections for victims evicted from their homes due domestic violence

I feel like I can apply the Laws of the House of God to every shift.

Most recently reflected on Law #13: “The delivery of good medical care is to do as much nothing as possible.”

Which is your favorite?
For reference, the House of God is a classic medical satire about the internship year of a fictional group of residents in a fictional hospital in the early 1970s, focusing on the psychological harm and dehumanization caused by residency training.
There are 13 Laws of the House of God enumerated by their senior resident The Fat Man.

1. GOMERS don't die.
2. GOMERS go to ground.
3. At a cardiac arrest, the first procedure is to take your own pulse.
4. The patient is the one with the disease.
5. Placement comes first.
