People are doing threads on Fauci. Here's my favorite.

In May, Fauci publicly praised South Carolina's response to Covid, calling it a "model" he would "clone" for the rest of the country.

South Carolina closed practically nothing, including bars.

Two months later, he praised New York as the "model" for how to handle Covid. That state locked down harder than almost everyone else, closing everything.

In between, in June, he praised California's handling of the pandemic:

"During the conversation with the Sacramento Press Club, Fauci also praised Gov. Gavin Newsom's handling of the pandemic, saying he has been "ahead of the curve."

Fauci is like a small child. Constantly seeking approval. He tells every person listening what they want to hear. He lives for the pats on the head. That's how South Carolina (no lockdown) and California/New York (hard lockdown) can both be the "model" state.

It's amusing but not surprising to me that people saw Fauci as a "leader." In the era of Trump any person who emerged as a possible foil to the Bad Man was instantly anointed, regardless of qualifications. It says a lot and nothing good about the Left that it called him a leader.
It's amusing that people sell the BS that Fauci was protecting the mask supply with his early distortions. On March 9, one day after his "no reason to wear a mask" comments, he told Americans they should go on cruises is they are healthy.

This guy is an absolute cartoon and has been since the first day he emerged on the scene, telling Americans not to touch their faces while he literally touched his face.

I worry deeply about the judgement of any person who can't put this together. Perhaps it's the year-long campaign of media distortion that's buried Fauci's incompetence in a swarm of glowing puff pieces.

Fact he has any say in Americans' risk calculation is a farce.

As an addendum, since these tweets have become popular.

I come from the Left. Or at least I did, before the Left sacrificed human and civil rights in favor of a public health autocracy. It’s not lost on me this crisis was used as an election year battering ram.
This one is fun, too. Back in May, talking to CNBC, he said staying closed too long would cause "irreparable damage" to society.

Again, on a business show, with a business focus, he gives a business-friendly answer.…
But, ah!

One week earlier, Fauci told Congress there would be "serious consequences" if the US exited lockdown too soon.

This guy.…
