genuinely terrified for the psychological wellbeing of the youngest generation rn. my own generation is all messed up in so many ways but i think about little kids in isolation and little kids being transitioned in record numbers and im just heartbroken
for my age group we have "zoomer condition" to describe the general widespread effects of growing up with technological overload and social media (+ the lack of free play and physical activity that accompanies it) and thats bad enough man... ITS BAD ENOUGH
not even just kids being transitioned.. kids growing up w/ highly dysfunctional parents captured by insane ideology. stuff like "theybies" is just the tip of the iceberg. ik so many ppl whos marriages have been destroyed bc of this and i just know their kids are gonna suffer
and i can only imagine how many parents are out there who both agree about stuff like gender ideology and crt and are imposing those ideas on their kids. its such a dysfunctional and damaging way of thinking about yourself and the world, a mental illness pipeline

this is the problem. first result for a google search "effects of testosterone ftm". written by an MD, yet this article reduces the effects of high dose testosterone in female to aesthetics, with only a quick mention of a few potential health risks. transcare.ucsf.edu/article/inform…
no discussion about what estrogen is, what it does in the female body, why it is important for healthy body function, or how excess testosterone impacts various body systems. this is a doctor here, she learned this information in medical school. she KNOWS what estrogen does.
she KNOWS how the endocrine system works and why its healthy function matters.

she. learned. it. in. medical. school.

and yet she writes this misleading article, that will be read by countless young and vulnerable people considering cross sex hormone treatment.

maybe if my zoomer condition warped attention span allows i’ll do a write up on all the different ways sex hormones affect the body, because i’m getting really tired of ignorant people spreading misinformation and minimization to ppl considering or currently on cross sex hormones
obviously i’m not a doctor 😏 but this stuff really fascinates me and ohhhhhhhhh my god is it misunderstood when it comes to talking about the health and ethics of medical transition
this will take a ton of additional research though so don’t expect it soon 😂 but every day my patience grows thinner im finna snap

sex hormones greatly influence bone formation and resorption. unnaturally high levels of testosterone in females disrupt healthy sex hormone function, and eventually atrophy the reproductive system, which is what mainly regulates sex hormones.
this diseased state of the endocrine system is what leads to osteoporosis, which can be observed in similar cases such as women with PCOS and post-menopausal women.
it would make more sense if you put effort into learning how the endocrine system actually works, instead of minimizing its importance and spreading misinformation. its not just something that makes you look a certain way.

name one thing worse than thinking you stumbled upon an epic butch lesbian and she starts going on about how gender is a fluid spectrum and shes not really a woman
every time
a youtuber i like did a video with his sister and in the intro clip she said she took testosterone, and he kept referring to her as "she" and "sister" but then she started talking about how shes a lesbian but also not a woman because she doesnt like being girly

i know it’s hard to take an opposing or even critical stance on medical transition as someone who has never been through it. you’re told time and time again everything from “people just want to feel comfortable in their body” to “people will kill themselves en masse without it”
you want to be empathetic and understanding towards people who’s experiences you don’t understand. you don’t want to be a bigot. you don’t want to impose. it comes from a good place.
but you have to understand that you’ve been manipulated by a medical industry loaded with corruption and ideological capture. and so have many of the people seeking these hormonal treatments and surgeries. the devastation that litters places like r/detrans will make that clear.

NSFW photos come after a few pages of medical records if you want to look. this man is only 22. abused and irrevocably damaged. this isn’t care. this is the reality of “life saving” “affirming” transition for so many people.
so many people don’t want to get their hands dirty when it comes to talking about transition. happy to talk about women’s sports but when it comes to THIS, it’s always “hey man i support people doing what they want with their body”.
but this isn’t bodily autonomy. bodily autonomy is not having this done to you when you’re in a vulnerable state.

THIS is what’s being done to people. a LOT of people.
