I thought the opening segment on Tucker Carlson was SO important last night. I've spliced it up for your viewing pleasure.
Clip 1: Social distancing was faith-bases guesswork from 100 years ago.
Clip 2: the social distancing schtick had MASSIVE consequences.
Clip3: Tucker is right... it is dystopian. Fauci is the lead stooge in this whole endeavor

1 year ago today I published one of my first pieces on #COVID19. It was entitled: "How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Coronavirus"

Much of it holds up very well... especially the part about garbage data!

"Now don’t get me wrong. This virus will be challenging. The number of infected people will rise as will the number of deaths... How impactful will it be here in the U.S.? Frankly, we don’t know… because the data is… garbage."
2/
"My numbers tell me: it’s gonna be a rough few months but it’s not the apocalypse and the vast majority of you will not experience anything."

New CDC #COVID master file is out! Focus on 2020 we find that our medical interventions are working incredibly well now!
- The raw CFR is below 1%
- The 3% hospitalization rate is essentially the same as influenza

Still a deadlier disease than the flu but less so each month.
1/
The breakdown by age looks even better.
Your chances of dying from #COVID19 under the age of 50 are almost nil and under the age of 60 is improving dramatically. Even for our elderly (WITHOUT the vaccine in these stats) we're managing things well.
2/
Also if we narrow things down to the parameters which the CDC uses to estimate seasonal flu burdens: Infections > Dr. Visits > Hospitalizations > Deaths - There are 130,413 confirmed deaths in 2020 which have a hospitalization AND a confirmed illness date or positive test date.

video from the @ChefGruel tweet of a health inspector doing a happy dance that she had shut down another business.

It reminds me of the novel "The Betrothed" by Manzoni about the plague in Milan. He describes the 17th century "health inspectors" (read on!)

First the penalties were raised on everyone creating classes ("stations") for every part of society:

"The strictest orders were laid upon these people; the severest penalties threatened to them; stations were assigned them; and commissaries, as we have said, placed over them"
2/
Then new power was placed in unelected officials to keep obedience:

"...magistrates and nobles were appointed in every district, with authority to enforce good government summarily on every opportunity."
