Do negligent data breaches cause physical harm? Do they shorten lives? In the past- maybe. I the current day and near future, they absolutely do.
I can explain with firsthand knowledge and experience.
Due to a fairly common underlying health condition, my body is not very good at processing sugar.

I also really really do not like pricking my fingers multiple times a day- so I don’t. It’s not a conscious and intentional decision. I just don’t like it. Result? I rarely do it.
In a very feasible way, some sort of small blood sugar monitoring stick-on device could easily keep me well informed of blood sugar levels and would likely add several good years to my life. In fact, more than one doctor has suggested that I could use such a device.
But I will not. I refuse to use a Bluetooth-enabled, cloud-storage sending, hosted-platform reporting blood sugar monitoring device. I know from great personal experience, that each one of those elements is a security and privacy catastrophe.
Nothing about those technologies is trustworthy on a medical health level. It’s possible to do it in a secure way, but doing it in a not-secure or trustworthy way has been so damn profitable that companies are drunk on profit and the ship has sailed.
Horrific negligence exists in today’s Internet of Things. The result is easily avoidable harms to the public for profit. People who understand the harms being caused, like me, will live shorter lives due to bigdata’s disregard for law and lack of respect for the rights of others.

The extremely depraved criminality of the trump campaign opting-in donors for recurring payments is not merely withdrawing weekly or monthly sums from people’s bank accounts without informed consent...
That’s prong #1.
Prong #2 was continuing to hold mass gatherings and rallies in order to get the older donors sick (the ones who tend to have bank accounts worth draining).
A person ill with covid-19 is unlikely to be watch their bank account for unintended perpetual “donations”.
If someone is default-opted-in for recurring payments and then happens to be hospitalized for an extended period of time before dying of covid-19, they certainly won’t be stopping those payments or demanding a refund. Those payments will continue for a long time.

Assigning delivery routes so grueling that drivers have to pee in bottles just to stay on schedule is gender discrimination.
Amazon’s unconscionable work quotas inherently advantage male drivers whom are better equipped for bottle peeing.
Whole thing is clusterf**k levels of bad.
I’d think Amazon also risks liability from inherently soliciting and incentivizing its drivers to commit acts of indecent exposure while in public.
Sounds dangerously close to forcing employees into committing crimes of a somewhat sexual nature.
Are there surveillance cams in Amazon delivery vans? Is Amazon recording video of delivery drivers while those drivers are forced to pee in bottles by Amazon’s unreasonable work conditions?

Reading more about this proposed experiment- theraven.substack.com/p/saami-indige…

Couldn't the project test the same hypothesis by simply fitting white tarps over the roof shingling of a significant number of volunteer homes in the US?
White tarps on roofs would be a much better approach. The proposed test in Scandinavia is planned to eventually scatter a bunch of chalk dust across an area of land the size of 11 football fields. The idea is to see if white chalk blanketing an area would repel "solar radiation".
Basically, Gates plans to reflect white light and see if it is advantageous to Earth's climate.
White tarps on roofs would be *much* less potentially harmful to such a large environment and achieve similar results. Roof tarps are an easier cleanup and have no impact on wildlife.

One of the reasons there is value to be had from sincere, genuine, public-facing comments from foreign individuals regarding the politics and behaviors of a nation's own domestic governance often goes unrecognized.
I'll explain...
For example, when I comment on something I have observed about a particular UK politician, or concerns I have regarding the effect a Canadian digital policy will have upon its population, I do so from the perspective of someone who did not grow up in either of those nations.
Which means, if my commentary is sincere and genuinely altruistic, my words come untainted by any of the foreign nation's internal domestic political biases.

Here's the next-level danger of from the Chauvin trial:
Because it was so clearly an abominable and indefensible execution of Floyd, who did not deserve to be executed, no matter what the result of the trial is there will be a massive land mine that we must work to disarm...
That land mine I refer to is the *next* time something like this happens. Because, rightly so, I do not believe a future crowd witnessing a slow torture and execution will simply stand by and let it happen again.
After seeing the 9 minute execution of Floyd again and again...
The next time that situation happens, the crowd is going to stop the officers from killing the subject. The officers will not react well to this. They will open fire. There will be a massacre. It will spark something waaaaaay worse.

So- Cops: stop killing black people. Stop it.

Seriously, guys. I nailed this one with some pretty good precision.
Joel Greenberg conspired to ransom the local gov computers for $500,000.
My foresight tweet randomly predicted what amount as an example? $500,000.
I’m onto these punks.
