For obvious reasons, it won’t be as gratifying as GE2017, but the commentariat getting it wrong on Starmer is going to be even more humiliating for them because it’s happening in slow motion.
The 2017 election could almost be forgiven given Labour’s polling when it was called, and the election took place about two months later. Starmer’s been leader for a year and some of them have been horny for him since before he was even an MP.,
Unfortunately, after 2010, 2015 and 2016, I doubt whether some can ever be convinced that their politics is no longer it (if it ever was)
If Labour lose Hartlepool, Starmer is a dead man walking. Any Labour MP with a majority comparable to the one Saudi Paul is defending will panic that they’re about to be voted off the gravy train.
But who will replace Starmer? There are a few Labour MPs willing to adopt a programme radical enough to turn the tide, but would the PLP allow any of them onto the ballot?

I actually used the exact words ‘that option no longer exists’ last night when discussing Labour with a mate and arguing that the New Labour route of appeasing Murdoch and deregulating finance isn’t viable now.
Murdoch is up to his shrivelled nuts in fossil fuel shares and if you deregulate finance any further you might as well tell it to start machine gunning people in the global south to get the population under control
New Labour's strategy: 'I can only do it once'

While liberal media continue to memory-hole pretty much everything Starmer promised in order to win the Labour leadership election, this is apparently happening:
It is a profound disgrace imo that well-meaning Labour members who just wanted to win and wanted all the fighting to stop are clearly seen as barely relevant collateral damage that was necessary in order for the party of organised labour to once again be sold to the rich.
The people who've facilitated this should not be taken seriously or in good faith ever again. They're prepared to lie, cheat and steal just so they get to preside over the end of the world, but won't lift a finger to prevent it.

Weird how Labour Party outriders seem to have suddenly decided that the NIP is worth commenting on and at almost exactly the same time Luke Akehurst et al have decided it’s antisemitic.
There is obviously an argument that people with the protected characteristic at issue should not have to carry three fight against the racism they experience. This is different in that Luke thinks he can tell a Jewish person what is and isn’t antisemitic.
Has this guy EVER raised a concern about antisemitism where the accusation didn’t have the potential to damage a political opponent? He’s hiding in plain sight.

He even signed them lol Image
Starmer is a liar on a truly awesome scale, his time at the CPS seems to have been extremely dodgy, and while he hasn’t been caught playing away he has mowed down a Deliveroo rider, reached out to dodgy donors and has a blind spot around POC.
