@QueenMab87 In what way do the Dems do any of the 4? He's only right if you buy into the notion that the Dem party owes independents a right to access their funding, infrastructure, outreach, etc.
@QueenMab87 The Dems cannot "kick 3rd parties off ballots." If a candidate meets the state's requirements for being on the ballot, they're on the ballot.
@QueenMab87 The Dems cannot "make it harder for 3rd parties to secure public funding," unless he means that through competing for votes with his preferred 3rd party candidates, those candidates' vote totals fall beneath the threshold. Which is, y'know, democracy. Competing for votes & all.
@QueenMab87 In what way do Dems "suppress voter choice"? They do not. 3rd parties are welcome to get on a ballot in any state in which they can meet the requirements, irrespective of what Dems want. And those requirements are eminently obtainable in most cases.
@QueenMab87 In MA, my state, you only need 10,000 signatures to get on the ballot. PA: 5,000. NY: 30,000. MI: 12,000. CA is just under 200,000, or just under .5%. TX is just under 80,000, or less than .3% of the population.
@QueenMab87 If a candidate is unable to obtain those threshold number of signatures, they have no chance at an election. So voters' choices are not suppressed.

As for the first point, Dems can do what they want with their party and their process.
@QueenMab87 "Progressives" really are mad that they can't just come into another party, take advantage of everything Dems have spent decades building, all the party's hard work, and not have the party have any say. Political parties are not democracies. This is what they don't get.

The Civil War and the Confederacy (CSA) were about slavery. Only slavery. The word “slavery” appears 83 times in the Declarations of Secession. The Constitution of the Confederacy makes “negro slavery” *mandatory*.
The Declarations of Secession include:
• “that the servitude of the African race, as existing in these States, is mutually beneficial to both bond and free”
• “the subordination and the political and social inequality of the African race was fully conceded by all”
• "In the momentous step which our State has taken of dissolving its connection with the government of which we so long formed a part, it is but just that we should declare the prominent reasons which have induced our course...

Thread: A note about representation. RBG famously said there will be enough women on SCOTUS "when there are nine." Unfair? Cases decided by justices in the 1700s, 1800s, 1900s still have force of law. These are the white men of SCOTUS.
These are the SCOTUS justices who are/were not white men. /2
These are the Black SCOTUS justices. /3
