First Dinner: roasted vegetable soup with cannelini beans, pasta, kale and spinach. The veg was celery, leek, onion, and fennel. Turmeric and black pepper to finish.
Second Dinner: Curried white fish in ginger, honey and lime juice, with peas, kale, broccoli, asparagus, spinach, rocket and watercress. With a generous dollop of kimchi, bread, and olive oil with the rest of the kimchi blitzed through it as a dipping sauce on the side.
For those who don’t know, I have ADHD and I’m back on meds for it, which messes up my appetite. So I have a massive breakfast, take meds, graze on protein shakes and hearty protein packed soups through the day, then have two dinners 3 hours apart when they wear off. Works for me!
PS the white fish, spinach rocket and watercress, and pea kale broccoli asparagus mix were all yellow sticker bargains, because of course they were 😎
Also the 2 dinners thing means I get to have one early meal with my son and have a good catch up over dinner, and one meal with my housemate who finishes work after he’s in bed. So as well as working for my ADHD meds, it also works really nicely for my household. 🥰

Hello! I’m in a cross-party Govt commission this afternoon about the future of the welfare system (and redesigning it so it works for everyone) post-C19 and I’ve written my notes on it but just want to make sure I’m not missing anything glaringly obvious or impactful/important.

Hey Twitter! Me again! Looking for your best thrifty ideas for everyday things to keep and repurpose. So far I’ve got: jars, newspaper, paperwork, tin cans, ring pulls, glass wine bottles, plastic juice bottles, toilet roll tubes, tumble dryer fluff, hair, egg boxes...
...veg scraps, coffee grounds, citrus peels, chamomile teabags, bubblewrap, cardboard packaging, ribbons & string, foil trays, margarine/soft cheese tubs, ice cream tubs, old T-shirts, shirts, curtains, bedding, old towels and face cloths, and the key from the corned beef tin🥫
I’ve got more, but I’d be super keen to hear your ‘reuse and repurpose’ tips for everyday, random, ordinary things (many heads are better than one!) If I use yours I’ll thank you in the back of the book (if you want) and send you a signed copy when it’s out (Dec 2021 I think!)
