Just had an experience at the grocery store. So I was walking out of the store. I saw an old man (80ish) fall on the sidewalk. It was like his leg just gave out. He had many scars on his leg so he’s had multiple surgeries. I dropped my stuff to go help him up. Others saw it /1
happen. He was saying something but the word everyone heard was “Covid” instantly people started to back away. I didn’t. Once I got closer he was saying “I don’t have Covid” that’s the first thing he thought to say cause he needed help. How sad. Anyways I asked him /2
what he needed from inside the store and I’d go get it for him. He just needed a few things so I sat him on the bench in the shade and told him I’d be right back. I went and picked up what he needed and got him back to his car. When I get angry I cry, it’s just an outburst /3
of emotions that I can’t control. I got in my car and while driving I just burst out in tears from anger. I hate what this disease has done to humanity. I hate it. I just wanted to go scream at the ones who just watched and ask them “wtf is wrong w/ you”. I’d rather /4
take my chances with Covid than be a heartless asshole who is afraid of a disease 95% + survival rate. I just don’t understand. /end

Thread. Funny story. Backstory first, I joined the Army in April of 2001 but didn’t leave for basic until July 31st. I was 17 at the time. I turned 18 in May.

So you know that Kenny Chesney song that references “Banana Joe’s”. Ok, he’s referencing a real bar in Knoxville. /1
He’s from this area. So me and a couple of my friends decided we wanted to go. So we roll up. We found the perfect parking spot at the Wendy’s next door. Big sign that says basically “we will tow your car”. We all blew it off thinking they were never gonna tow my car. /2
So we go in and have a ton of fun, this was our first experience “at da club”. We stayed till they shut the place down. We are laughing joking all the way to the parking lot. Then I literally said “dude, where’s my car”. Turns out those signs mean business. So I call the # /3

Thread: I’ve been fearing this day since I heard the news that Rush had cancer. Some of you know my grandmother killed herself when I was in 5th grade. My childhood ended that day. I lost my favorite person in the whole world, I couldn’t understand why she’d do it because /1
I loved her, what about me? My mom recently admitted her only regret in life was not getting me into therapy. She said she was so caught up in her own grieve I was completely neglected. I told her the best thing I believe was not getting me therapy. It could’ve sent me the /2
wrong way. It would’ve been easy to fall into that victim mentality. Instead I came home and listed to Rush everyday. I developed a love for politics that kept my mind off the horrible thing that had happened but he taught me not to be a victim but to be a fighter. /3

Thread: So I want to tell people why I become unglued about people talking shit about the military and free shit. I went to college later in life I was 26 when I started. I went and told my husband (at the time) I wanted to get my degree. I’m a veteran and I had benefits /1
He said go for it. We had 8 week semesters with 2 weeks off. I finished my first semester the next day my stepdad was killed in a freak accident. My stepdad hung the moon in my eyes. I was utterly devastated. It broke my soul. I told my mom I’d drop out and come stay with her/2
She told me that she was going back to work and I needed to go back to school. I felt like I was just going through the motions of life but crying myself to sleep every night. Locking myself in the bathroom so my kids didn’t see me cry. My stepdad and I always had this secret /3
