This has been circulated to NDIA staff this past week. “Scheme Reform Program”. Transition starts this month.

Changes to NDIS

1. Plan flexibility - new plans will have 2 budgets. One is flexible and able to be used for what was previously core supports and capacity building.
2/ Planners and LAC role changes - LAC's will become plan implementers assisting participants to implement their plans. Planners will be conducting planning meetings.

sent 4 April at 21:41
massive changes coming.
3/ NDIA are conducting meetings with staff details the introduction of the draft legislation, removal of r&n, new roles of planners and LAC's, new systems for independent assessments. new material coming detailing what the ndis can and can't fund.
4/ From a whistleblower via Shirley
@NDISDeane @dougie_herd @billshortenmp @Jordonsteele @JacquiLambie @SquigglyRick

How can they just say ‘we are doing this’ when we tell them it will kill people, when the whole sector is against it??

I see where this is coming from.
5/ This is the old WA state scheme. I more than suspect the players who have had a hand in this construction. It is about insurers & actuaries & bankers & government & Big Data Sales men arranging this around their interests. And it’s about privatisation and lining pockets.
6/ I know you all think that we don’t have a choice - that we have no power because we need support. But we DO have a choice. We vote.

And if you have a sweetener up visit right now, be aware that it’s strategic. Ask how many others that person has ‘reached out’ to that week.

More info re leaked Ndis changes - meeting were held this week just gone to tell staff the transition will start this month. First move is to change systems. New system called ACE, already in use by SDA. Reviews and Complaints teams will transition to it this month.
2/ ‘Senior management have advised IA's will be in full swing by June, new legislation will be in by November with the removal of s34.

Participants will see the plan before implementation.’

Other messages.

‘ACE is already in use.’ @mariehjohnson
3/ ‘Only a handful of staff are using it and no one has had any training on the platform. They were told this is the new system, go and learn it. It is being used in the SIL and SDA space, not where I work.’

Let’s not pretend this scheme is about us, or our rights, any more.

This ad just came up for yet another dodgy looking new investment brokerage.…

Nope. Enough building of mini institutions and commodifying disabled folk.
2/ Dodgy sounding? Confirmed.

Meet your new landlord.…
3/ What are you doing about this, @NDIS?

I’m pretty interested in the connections people have and make. I am wondering why NDIA board member Sandra Berkensleigh didn’t disclose that she was a director of Quadrant, who have only just sold their APM shares - a company who bidded successfully for independent assessments.

It looks like it’s been recently removed from her LinkedIn, as the preview on google still shows that she’s a quadrant director.

If you don’t know what other interests Quadrant have, I would have a look.

This is very interesting.
After I posted about this Director, I received this message.

‘Sandra is a tyrant.’

Queensland Rail chair Phillip Strachan and board members Paul Wallis and Sandra Birkensleigh have resigned #qldpol…

Dear Australian Government

Please explain to me how many ways you can have a conflict of interest?

That a Hillsonger can move from former NDIA Deputy CEO to being in charge of rule making around NDIS AND running the companies that make the money, including in housing?

2/ No, I did not say CEO. I said Deputy CEO. I am not talking about former CEO Rob de Luca. I am tracing the career paths of all the current and former NDIA folk and gosh, it's quite a ride.…

This guy is Ian Maynard. #FederalICACNow
3/ Deputy to DPN Casa Capace disability housing provider - that's the one which is flogging SDA homes to many investors, remember? With Scott Morrison's Horizon Church board member. Plus Director of Open Minds, an NDIS and mental health provider and co-founder of Cybermetrix.

This woman stood up at an event and said she would kill to be sexually harassed at the moment.

@TeenaMcqueen, let me introduce you to some women.

This woman, 93, raped in her home in my state.…
2/ 100 elderly residents are raped in care each year and we are in the middle of a disability royal commission. I understand some people think it’s okay to make jokes, but this is was in *response* to talking about rape and sexual assault.

None of us are laughing.
3/ Raped in Mandurah in her hotel room.…

Sexually assaulted in her retirement village, aged 81.…

Raped while his son was having his leg amputated.…

I found out that the ‘sympathy bias’ that the #NDIS #IndependentAssessments are apparently based on are a plausibility argument based on a single study from 2006 with 29 participants. Using a rating scale not proposed to be used by #RoboNDIS. IN AN INSTITUTION.
2/ So that whole plausibility argument - which sounds pretty implausible to me - is based on a diagnostic group of all intellectually disabled people 15 years ago. And it holds more weight than the - other negative biases? The ones that might kill us?

Let’s investigate that.
3/ Here’s the reference. R Guscia, Rater Bias and the Measurement of Support Needs.
