I'm making this thread at the request of many disputing analysis of the U.S Navy's advantage in tonnage where it matters over China's advantage in numbers where it matters little . Forty ships is what separates both navies. So let's delve right into it.
China has two aircaft carriers in service. The Liaoning commisoned in 2012 and Shandong commisoned in 2019. Both Liaoning and Shangdong are based on the Soviet designed Kuznetsov class carried of the 1980s.
Shandong or Type 002 is a conventionally powered ski jump carrier and has a displacement (tonnage) of 70,000 tons. China's carrier fleet have a combined tonnage of 110,000 tons. The Liaoning can carry 40 aircafts and Shandong 44 aircraft.
China's current naval fighter is the J-15 Flying Shark. Which is vastly inferior to its American counterpart, the F-18 Hornet.
China's carriers are slower and can operate at sea for only six days before needing to refuel. SIX DAYS.

Chins has less than a decade of experience with carrier operations.
The United States operates 11 Nimitz-class "supercarriers," aircraft carriers that dwarf all other flat-tops worldwide both in size and capability. Each of these Nimitz carriers weigh 101,600 tons. Given the US Navy Nimitz Class 11 flattopes a combined 1,1 million in tonnage.
Each Nimitz typically carries an air wing of 80 or 100 aircraft consisting of 60 F/A-18 Hornets, 5 E/A-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft, 4 E-2D Hawkeye airborne early warning and control aircraft, 2 C-2 Greyhound transport aircraft, and 6 Seahawk helicopters.
ENTER the US Navy's four Ford Class Super carriers: USS Gerald Ford, USS John F Kennedy, USS Enterprise and USS Dorris Miller.
Two of these carriers have been inducted into the Navy, With USS Gerald Ford commisoned in 2017, and USS John F Kennedy launched in 2019, with USS Enterprise and USS Miller still under construction.
These new class of carriers are a generation ahead of the Nimitz class, the very same Nimitz class of carriers that is a generation ahead of any other carrier in the world.
USS Ford and Kennedy are armed with the Raytheon evolved Sea Sparrow missile, which defends against high speed, highly manoeuvrable anti ship missiles. The close in weapon system is the rolling airframe missiles.
The carrier carrys 100 aircraft, including the F-35 Stealth Fighter, F-18 Hornets and unmanned aerial vehicles. Each of these carriers are 100,000 ton. Making for a combined 200,000 in tonnage. So now we are looking at 12 Super carriers.
ENTER the U.S Marines. No kidding. They have amphibious assault ships. I classify them as carriers because they outclass China's two aircaft carriers.
They carry and fly more advanced aircrafts than China's air force. Marines are the only branch of the U.S military that operates VSTOL aircafts.
The Air wing consisted of AV-8B Harriers II "jump jets". They have now been replaced with F-35B stealth fighters. this is the U.S Marines. U.S Marines alone fields far more stealth aircaft than the Chinese and Russian Air Force combined several times over.
The Marines arquired 420 F-35s, 353 F-35Bs and 67 F35Cs. That's 840 F-35 Stealth fighters. By contrast the Russian Air Force has less than 12 PAKFA 5th Gen fighters
Besides projecting air power the core function of the WASP is to help U.S Marines storm beaches.
The Wasp class is capable of transporting almost the full strength of a United States Marine Corps Marine Expeditionary Unit, and landing them in hostile territory via landing craft or helicopters as well as providing air support via F-35B stealth fighters.
The Marines operate a total of eight of these large deck multi-purpose amphibious assault ships and all eight are in active service.
So in totally we are looking at the U.S military operating 20 aircraft carriers it can deploy at any time. That's more than the rest of the world s navies combined. The U.S Navy is the only navy that has a separate fleet of carriers for each of the world's seven oceans.
Going by numbers alone, while overwelming is not even the major advantage the U.S Navy has. EXPERIENCE is where America has the greatest advantage.
As of this writing 2021 China is now just begining to learn the rudiments of carrier operations and carrying out sea trials.
America by contrast has had more than 75 years of hard earned experience from multiple wars across numerous continents. You cannot negate a 75 year head start with money. Combat experience is something that cannot be purchase or tweaked.
Think about it. The Liaoning can only endure six days at sea before they have to return to port to refuel. By contrast U.S nuclear powered carriers can remain at sea for years if necessary, limited only by their supply of food and human endurance. In 2021 China's two carriers
Liaoning and Shangdon cannot operate far into the high seas yet. America by contrast in 1945 was decimating the Japanese carrier fleet in the battle of Midway, in what is regarded as the greatest carrier battle in history.
America's advantage is so overwhelming it borders on ridiculous. 20 aircaft carriers, 12 of them super carriers to China's two. Technological advantage. A century of experience. China's navy will be picked apart the United States in open seas.

With thousands of troops deployed to every geopolitical zones of the country many analysts are questioning whether the Nigerian military is stretched in ways that could undermine its future capabilities should new threats arise. And you cannot blame them for asking ImageImageImage
The insurgency was localised in the northeast. when Boko Haram was on the verge of collapse and optimism was high, bandits in the northwest sprung into action. Now the Nigerian army found itself fighting in two fronts. I could remember very well the then COAS Air Marshall
Sadique Abubakar deploying Special Forces personnel to Kaduna to take care of the North West axis, with the Air Component Commander coordinating the air power aspect from Kaduna in support of ground operations in Southern Kaduna. The bandits, most of whom had never come under ImageImageImageImage

South Africa is one of the top nations in terms of its production of armoured South African National Defence Force (SANDF) operates 2,500 units armoured fighting vehicles. This makes SANDF of the deadliest ground fighting force in Africa.
South African armoured vehicles carry out one of two main roles: either a direct combat role that incorporates a variety of weaponry, or a personnel carrier function that protects troops and delivers them to and from the battlefield.

The Chinese military in Djibouti.
China, the world's 2nd largest economy, and in my opinion the 2nd most powerful military in the world has 10,000 troops in Djibouti. Before China established its first overseas military base in Djibouti in 2017, there were already six countries in that tiny country.
One of those country is JAPAN. China's mortal enemy. It didn't take long before tensions emerged from each military’s close observation of one another.

I used to like Fareed Zakaria. I try not to miss his Fareed Zakaria GPS show on CNN. My respect for Fareed wayned when he took offence with Trump saying Nigeria is a beautiful country he will like to visit someday. Now we all know it's just diplomatic niceties. Everyone knows.
However Fareed went ballistic trying to prove Nigeria is a failed state and Trump is ignorant not to see that. Nigerians aint as educated he claims. But Nigerians in the U.S are the highest earning income group, outstripping Asian and Caucasians. Then began the comparison with
Botswana. Comparing a nation of 200 million people to Botswana, a nation of 2 million. This was when I observed for the first time liberal news networks in America are ten times more stereotypical of Africans than conservative media outlets. They are experts at identity politics

American warships have been spotted in two locations. The South China Sea and East China Sea. USS Theodore Roosevelt has entered the South China Sea for the second time in months. China is claiming more than 90% of the South China Sea.
China is sending out hundreds of fishing boats manned by maritime militias to sort of clog the area. The South China Sea is the hottest contested region in the world and sending 200 maritime ships to clog the area is nothing but a provocation.
China may want to consider its actions. The U.S Navy is the greatest maritime power the world has ever seen. It's not to be messed with. China hasn't been in a war in over 40 years and havent seen naval combat in more than 100 years. The Chinese Navy will be picked apart

China has been criticised for quite a long time for its activities in Africa, and the western powers have been looking to stifle Africa's jump at China. But..why do these people get so riled up. Is spending so much money in Africa a taboo or something?
Despite all the noise and fear mongering China has invested hundreds of billions of dollars to support Africa, helping many countries stimulate their economies by building infrastructure. A strong infrastructure boosts a nations productivity. Most of the western worlds
view about Africa is based on stereotype. Our media have done a terrible job at showing how far Africa has come in recent years when it comes to infrastructure. From the view point of western countries China must have an agenda. Let's remember that China was only able to
