There is no discrimination in premier institutes? This is what happens in IITs. IIT Kharagpur Prof. Seema Singh openly abuses freshers enrolled in Preparatory English Course for SC/ST/PD students and challenges them to complain.

Will the government book her under PoA Act?
How are students from oppressed/minority backgrounds expected to study in premier institutes of higher education when this is the treatment they receive? The professor is brazenly abusing them AND their parents.

Would she have found this confidence if this weren't the norm?
How can students be expected to sit at home and attend online classes when this is what they have to go through? Even a death in the family is not allowed to be excuse for absence.

Note that there is mandatory 85% attendance rule. Why are faculty allowed to enforce it now?
Most institutes have retained their previous fee structure for online classes even while operating costs have fallen drastically. Some have even hiked fees during the lockdown period (for example, NID).

Higher education is being fenced off for the upper caste-upper class folks.
This preparatory course in IITs is itself an exclusionary mechanism whereby students who gain admission but are deemed to not be prepared for academic rigour are trained and tested.

How will students not drop out when this is what the preparatory course entails? Why blame them?
Most institutes also don't have functioning SC/ST/OBC cells despite being required to form them.

Moreover, lockdown and online classes have meant they are shrugging off their responsibilities and there is no oversight.
Irony dies a thousand deaths. IIT Prof. Seema Singh who was caught on video abusing her SC/ST/PD students co-authored a journal article titled Learning to learn from the Other.

Here's exactly how subaltern studies academics make a career out of 'learning' from oppressed people.
To know more about casteism in IITs- how IITs have been shaped, how entrenched interests refuse to let go of power and what is needed to change the status-quo, read this thread:

McFaul, former Embassador to Moscow, is of course wrong but it's also revealing that US warmongers cannot help absolving Nazi crimes.

Also note that McFaul is the one who lobbies for funds for regime change activities (Source: Stratfor emails from 2008 released by Wikileaks).
They are telling the public that German Jews, German Communists, German queer people, German disabled people, German dissidents; none of them are real Germans and deserved to be murdered by the Nazis.

When you defend arming Nazis, you usually have to think like them.
All this Holocaust denial has already of course been used as part of war propaganda in Syria. Ukraine propaganda is Syria rebooted on steroids.

Here's White House Press Secretary in 2017 saying Hitler didn't use chemical weapons against his own people.

Western Media has made the entire world forget that Zelensky was elected on a platform to make peace with Russia.

Here's a video of him before his Presidency where he calls out Banderites for what they are (Nazis trained by Americans who want them as NATO henchmen).
Last week, the Ukrainian Parliament passed a bill that legalized the very thing that Zelensky was correctly characterizing as fascism: seizing and confiscating Russian and Russian-owned assets.

There are hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians who also hold Russian passports. Image
Ihor Kolomoyskyi, the Jewish billionaire and former governor of Dnipropetrovsk that Zelensky is referring to in this video, is known to have funded Aidar, Azov, Dnipro, Dnepr1, Dnepr2 and Donbass battalions.

There are documented instances of war crimes by these battalions. ImageImage

In 2014, French magazine Elle featured Aidar Nazi Vita Zaverukha as the Ukrainian Joan of Arc fighting against Russia.

Zaverukha is best known for her calls for genocide, posting videos of her shelling villages and for taking part in the Odessa Trade Unions House massacre. ImageImageImageImage
Valentina Listsa, American pianist of Ukrainian origin who became famous through Youtubee, was the one who exposed Zaverukha, forcing Elle to apologize for glorifying Nazis.

Lisitsa was banned from performing with Toronto Symphony Orchestra for her anti-war anti-genocide views. ImageImage
Zaverukha, along with 4 other Aidar/Azov Nazis were later charged with robbing a gas station and murdering police officers in the shooting that followed. She was bailed out by a Ukrainian businessman.

She also got into fights with C14 Nazis. ImageImage

Already voices mildly critical of NATO are being attacked as Russian stooges and a fifth column wrecking Western nations.

To be read along with growing censorship of anti-imperialist voices and glowing coverage for those deciding to go to war in Ukraine.

Private Russian individuals working in the West are now being put through loyalty tests.

Politicians and media figures are calling for expelling Russian students from the US. Next is Western citizens connected to them. McCarthyism 2.0.

THREAD 👇🏾

Economic Survey 2022 ranks the pandemic response of different states in India according to expected covid19 deaths (based on population, population density, demographics and number of tests conducted) to actually reported deaths.

Kerala comes out on top. 1/n
Note that this ranking is based on reported covid19 deaths, which is comparably very high in Kerala, and not excess deaths/all-cause mortality, which is what should actually be looked at to evaluate the impact of government policies during the last couple of years. 2/n
Factoring in only reported covid19 deaths fails to account for differences in testing strategy, reporting of deaths, impact of lockdown and other policies on access to healthcare, related impact on mortality (due to a host of reasons including hunger), among others. 3/n
