Day 7 (any guesses on a due date?)

Day 8

A robin's body is 104 degrees F. or warmer. A mother robin shares her body warmth by parting her outer feathers and then pressing her hot bare tummy against her eggs or her young nestlings.

Day 9

Early bird gets the worm… for mom.
Dad brought a snack this morning so mom can sleep in.

Day 10

Incubation is typically 12-14 days, so we should see some hatching sometime in the next couple days.

Day 11

When it’s the middle of the night, the kids are keeping you up and you just can’t find a comfortable place to fall asleep.

Day 12
Any bets on a due date?

#BirdCam
We have… a robin.
#KaplanRobinCam

Mother and baby are doing well.
No weight or height available at this time.
#KaplanRobinCam status as of this morning:
2 hatched
2 eggs

Mom and dad and trying to keep up with feedings.
Eggs have all hatched:
2: two days old
2: one day old

Just a reminder: nature is cruel and doesn’t care about what you think about that fact.

The one that fell was rescued and mom is still feeding it. We have three left in the nest.

Kids don’t know yet 😢
Parents wrote off the one that fell.
I put it back in the nest and they are still feeding it.

Good luck, buddy.
#KaplanRobinCam
Parents seem to have kept the third.

Happy Mother’s Day!
#KaplanRobinCam
Birds are getting big.
Both parents are bringing grub nonstop.
About another week until they are ready for flight.
#KaplanRobinCam
Robins are 5-6 days old at this point.

One of the birds is taking an interest as to what’s happening outside… will a flight come soon?
Momma seems to want it to go back in.

The scoop on “poop”.
Where does it go when you’re cooped up in a nest?

“Baby robins remain in their nest for about 13 days. Just about every time the nestlings gulp down some food, they poop. Let's see—that's

#KaplanRobinCam
Robins are 15/16 days old and have been getting very big. The one my daughter nicknamed “raven” is hopping up on the nest and flexing wings. Might be ready to fly soon.
#KaplanRobinCan
Amazing how the smallest movement gets them to reach for food and start chirping.

Bye-bye birdie. It was nice meeting you.

Flight #2
(and then there was one)

#KaplanRobinCam
Umm… where is everybody?

#KaplanRobinCam
Fin.

We’ll see if they try the nest again.
Thanks to those that wrote about enjoying the #KaplanRobinCam.

My kids had a great time watching them grow.
