(1) He beat up a student while substitute teaching.

(2) He spent the whole day rambling about his insane beliefs ("suicide, sex, masturbation, God and the Bible").

(3) Students recorded him. The STAR has the videos.

(4) 'At one point, Samsel tells the student, “You’re about ready to anger me and get the wrath of God. Do you believe me when I tell you that God has been speaking to me?” He then pushes him, and the student runs to the other side of the classroom. “You should run and scream.”'
(5) '“Class, you have permission to kick him in the balls.”'

(6) Tells students about “a sophomore who’s tried killing himself three times” b/c he has 2 moms.
(6A) “He’s a foster kid. His alternatives in life were having no parents or foster care parents who are gay,” Samsel tells students. “How do you think I’m going to feel if he commits suicide? Awful.”
(7) “make babies. Who likes making babies? That feels good, doesn’t it? Procreate … You haven’t masturbated? Don’t answer that question....God already knows.”
(8) LATER: “Every little bit of it [was planned]. That’s right. The kids and I planned ALL this to SEND A MESSAGE about art, mental health, teenage suicide, how we treat our educators and one another. To who? Parents. And grandparents. And all of Wellsville,” he posted.
(9) “Are you doing the Lord’s work as you’re listening to the devil’s music?”

(10) “You were not following — not my rules — God’s rules right now,” he tells the student. “You better take a Bible.”
(11) He made 2 males students run a lap while holding hands as punishment. “Do you think we want to do this? No, we had a lesson to do. Is it kind of funny? Yeah. Are they ever going to learn? God only knows.”
(12) The best part? HE'S A LAWYER. "Samsel … is in his second term in the House, where he’s occasionally courted controversy. In February, he was one of just 13 lawmakers to vote against a bill that would have ended an exemption for spouses from the state’s sexual battery law."
Absolutely insane.

Some thought on Joe Manchin:

(1) There's a lot of time for him to come around and vote for things before the end of this Congress.

(2) He will NEVER have as much leverage as right now to get things he wants. After midterms, balance of power almost certainly shifts.

(3) He does have a history of conservative posturing followed by eventually voting with Democrats.

(4) Therefore, he's quite likely just being defiant to appeal to his conservative base, but he still wants federal dollars spent in his state (jobs, etc.).

(5) The only way to get those dollars is to eventually let the Democrats pass some of these major bills, and to attach earmarks for his constituents.

(6) If the Dems pass NOTHING, he's left empty handed, too.

7-2 decision, with Alito & Thomas dissenting
They dissented on whether the case should be heard (because the Supreme Court has original jurisdiction over state vs. state matters), and they did not say they would support any other relief.

They are trying to overthrow our government. They shouldn't get to participate in it any more.

We already fought a Civil War over this, but apparently some fools can't learn their lesson the first time.
Unfortunately, it hinges on the definition of 'rebellion' or 'insurrection,' and I don't know if this specific form of sedition would qualify.

It SHOULD, but I don't know that it does.
That said, I think every one of them should be investigated and, where possible, prosecuted for seditious conspiracy against the United States.

We cannot have a society if we allow people to attack it with impunity. There must be consequences for betrayal.

Every single one of them should be investigated by the next Department of Justice.

This isn't a matter of opinion. This is a betrayal of the Constitution of the United States. They know this, and they should be investigated for conspiracy to defraud the United States.
MEANWHILE, Tish James should get a f**king medal, because she's a badass and she's not taking this bullshit lying down.
Since we can't count on them being held accountable by the law (after all, these assholes helped write the law, and it's meant for rich white men to weasel out of accountability), we need to find and BOYCOTT every single donor to these traitors.
