So let’s recap: Manchester United fans storm the pitch at Old Trafford, rendering the stadium unsafe and forcing the game to be postponed?

That is ridiculous.
Were I in charge of the Premier League, that previous Tweet would have read, “Manchester United fans storm the pitch at Old Trafford, rendering the stadium unsafe and forcing Manchester United to take a 3-0 forfeit.”
I get that the Premier League has financial incentives to get the game to be played, but there needs to be a stronger message against this sort of behavior.
This is especially true when you consider that these supporters have literally impact the title race by keeping Manchester United alive until next week with a game in hand.
To be fair, I could see how this is an argument against a forfeit (since the Prem could argue that they don’t want to have front-office maneuvers impact the title race).
If that is there logic, then announce that the game will be made up during the week leading into Championship Sunday IF AND ONLY IF Manchester City has not clinched the title at that point.
(For the record, United can finish with a maximum of 82 points this year, meaning that City, who already have 80, can clinch the title with a win next week).

Noticing a lot of people talking on this website tonight about how Gonzaga not being in a big conference hurt them and let to them losing tonight.
What Power 5 conference in the Western United States is gong to admit a basketball school that, AFAIK, does not have a football team?
That to me is the biggest reason that Gonzaga isn’t in a bigger conference, as the WCC is probably the biggest primarily-basketball conference in that part of the country.

The commentators in the national just made reference to the fact that the 1980 USA Ice Hockey Team clinched the gold medal against Finland—NOT in the Miracle On Ice game against the Soviet Union.

They quoted Mark Few as saying, “Baylor is better than Finland.”
Few apparently left out the fact that the USA was losing the Finland game 2-1 at the second intermission.

USA coach Herb Brooks is reputed to have said, “If you lose this game, you will take it your fucking graces.”
Few probably has to give a similar speech as post this thread.

A few thoughts on the Artemi Panarin situation:…
First and foremost, I will be the first to admit that if these allegations are true and it can be proven at a court of law that Panarin did beat up an 18-year girl, then he is a disgrace to the sport of ice hockey and should never be allowed to play again anywhere.
Having written that, while I am willing to believe women on the matter of violence allegations, I find allegation from a person who was Panarin's coach at the time and could have done something (like release Panarin) to be a bit less than credible.

Just woke up to find out that (drumroll please)...JOE BIDEN HAS TAKEN THE LEAD IN GEORGIA!!!!!! I think is going to be a good day.
For the record, if you count Arizona for Biden (which some news organizations do, others not), he is now President-Elect. If you don’t count Arizona, he will become President-Elect by picking up either Nevada or Pennsylvania (both of which are seen as highly likely).
In addition, Clayton County, which seems to have swung the results, is partially in the Congressional District that was represented by John Lewis, who I assume is looking proudly down from Heaven tonight.

I have spent a significant portion of my Friday evening in a Twitter war with certain hagiographers of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg I would like to discuss a few things about this with all of you. 1/
There seem to be two camps on Justice Ginsburg. One camp believes that her status as a woman on the Supreme Court makes her a feminist icon above all public criticism. 2/
The other believes that she should have retired during the Obama presidency in order to keep her SC seat in liberal hands. 3/
