Apparently it's May? Who knew?

Time to mothball the April AMA thread and start a new one

Ask Me Anything...
I'll start the thread with an answer appended to the April AMA by mistake 😂

To the question of "why was Pitt County judge Jeff Foster the one hearing the Pasquotank County petition to release bodycam footage of Andrew Brown Jr's execution?"
Each state has its own processes for "domesticating" judgments for other states

You'd domesticate it first, then use that state's processes for enforcing it (seizing property, etc)
It's all ends-based. Start with the goal – in this case, portraying law enforcement in the best way possible – then work backwards from there

Releasing video makes deputies look bad, deny that. Sheriff saying he wants video but his hands are tied makes him look good, allow it
Terrible idea

But I'm not a finance guru so don't take my advice
Unlikely it's fraud

Representations to investors may be an issue if they're artificially inflating monthly user numbers though
The 1st Rule of @fsckemall covers a lot of ground tbh 😂

But the other 4 are here:

We have a quasi-official 6th Rule too: "Cops are like a box of chocolates. They'll kill your dog."
Congress can just abolish it via legislation

It's a judge-made doctrine that only applies in the context of lawsuits filed under 42 USC §1983

Amend that portion to add "qualified immunity shall not be a defense" or some such and you're done
Toy or in the cartoon?

Toy-wise I'd probably say Soundwave, just because it was cool there were Frenzy and Laserbeak "tapes" that actually fit. Cartoon-wise, probably Wheeljack but it's been awhile since I've watched it
I only hear about them when they're f*cking up, and I hear about them semi-regularly
👤: Best fictional/TV lawyers? As in “good at their job”, not “most entertaining”.

👴🏼: Vinny Gambini and Mickey Haller, albeit for different aspects of a case and for different reasons…
👤: If I'm being unjustly arrested or with unnecessary force or I'm scared for my life by shouty people with guns, what would you recommend as the right course of action?

👴🏼: Anything that gets you through the experience alive is de facto "the right...…
If you have any accusations to make, you'll have to make them in the proper manner
(For those unfamiliar, that's a quote from the scene in His Girl Friday before Cary Grant tells the guy to get out)

And most national / state / local political party meetings, government sessions, etc etc etc all start with it too
➡️ This is delusional, but that's true of Lin Wood's gibberish most days anyway

👩🏻: "Don't you want strong muscles?"

👴🏼: "I already have strong muscles."

👩🏻: "Don't you want *stronger* muscles?"

👴🏼: "Not as much as I want fried chicken."

I would take leg day 6x a week over this

Politicians are so desperate to stay in office that they would rather have endemic disease periodically racking communities and the businesses that rely on them, rather than make some hard choices like mandatory vaccination
I used to just repeat the tweet, then I discovered I could QT myself and it made everything simpler 😂

Every statement in this tweet is false
This is an apt comparison

Even the research shows 10-15% of droplets still get past a cloth mask. But the 85%-90% reduction in transmission does wonders for disease prevention, especially when coupled with distancing
Spreading communicable diseases to own the libs

Overland Park Police were called to check on a suicidal 17-year-old boy, who dispatchers were told "had been cutting himself and was threatening to stab himself"

Cops said "challenge accepted" and blew the kid away

The city paid out $2.3M to the family in a wrongful death suit
I was going to say "this happened 3 years ago so yes we have all the facts," but I noticed it was a new account with 0 followers and 50% of its tweets were whining about how cops are amazing and we're being so mean to them and etc

Some people need a hobby
