Without a car, options for getting from city (Pennywell) to vaccination centre are not good.

We spoke to Pat and Mary as they waited for the bus home after being to the vaccination centre. They were relieved to get the jab but annoyed that the centre was so difficult for them to get to.
Pat is 65 and Mary is 70. Mary enquired about getting a taxi but at €17 each way decided to go by bus instead. The 343 bus runs every hour so they could be waiting up to an hour to get home. Mary said they were blessed with the weather but what if it had been raining?
Pat was rightly very proud of his 26 years volunteering service with St John’s Ambulance and would have served much longer but for health issues forcing him to stop. He got a new badge today to add to his collection, including his St. John’s Ambulance pin.
After getting off the bus, this is where they had to cross the 100kph 4-lane dual carriageway.
The centre does not have a pedestrian entrance so this is where they had to enter and exit.
Pat & Mary’s needs were just not considered when selecting the location of Limerick’s vaccination centre, resulting in effects we see all too commonly from local & national decisions. @DonnellyStephen @paulreiddublin @EamonRyan @Limerick_Leader @FintanYTWalsh @limerickpost
