genuinely feel like the only languages student who still can’t speak their ab initio language looooool i am very much not blessed with a natural ability for languages i just enjoy them
probably giving myself too much credit here because i can barely speak french either but i wish i’d just done russian as my beginner language against literally all advice because at least then i’d actually have some motivation for my degree
actually do i even enjoy languages anymore? who knows not to be dramatic but i am merely a husk of the person i used to be before this pandemic
to be fair i don’t think anyone has a “natural ability” with language it’s all down to practice meaning people who are extroverted have an advantage with speaking and people without adhd have an advantage with grammar/detail-oriented tasks, meaning that i am bad 😌💅
