About the time I was moved upstairs next to EPI, to reduce the paper-trail of the unilateral decision-making happening during the pandemic, I was instructed not to respond to requests from leadership to make changes to any of our data or systems.

Turf war at SEOC
Pritchard emailed me:
"Part of the rationale is to reduce the pressure you are getting from executive leadership. So starting today, please don’t respond directly to the executive office staff (Alberto, Courtney, Dr. Rivkees, etc)."

Not even to say "thanks" for catching a typo
Pritchard cont...

"Let me know of analysis requests and we will brainstorm solutions and route through Dr. Blackmore. It will still be the case that Dr. Blackmore will often reach out directly. But at least this should slow down the pace of requests and dashboard changes."
I was told to ignore Alberto (communications director) Courtney (DOH chief of staff) and Dr. Rivkees - the Surgeon General himself.

All of these people were above the chain of command of everyone in disease control/epi

But EPI was in a turf war with everyone, even the SEOC.

I haven't shared this with many people, because it's painful but I feel in need of support today.

My daughter had craniosynostosis as an infant. We did all the tests, bloodwork, doctor's visits, specialists, etc.

Months to get dx.

It was a nightmare - for her, for us...

It's the most painful experience of my life. You are helpless to do anything about it, helpless to help.

If you haven't noticed, my baby girl is half my world (my son is the other half).

I just wish I could fix it for her. Getting new info about it is just breaking my heart

She's still in the bottom 5% for weight/height index. That's up from 3% before.

Now she's having issues with speech in school. They met with us today about it.

Please support the parents around you. You never know if they're struggling with health issues that you may not see.

A judge in my case against pushaw just ruled that bloggers/political consultants can harass, stalk and harm any "public figure" they want no matter how false or threatening.
Pushaw admitted to the court that she has used multiple accounts to harass me but still lied on others.
Criminal case against her will be held in May, police are still investigating her other crimes, and I'm immediately appealing this ruling with a league of tech experts behind me.

She admitted to stalking and harassing via her behavior, and engaging with other stalkers.

Sick.
I'll be publishing the evidence against her later this afternoon. The public has a right to know.

The process of "revising" the metrics AND how we measured them went from a little trick here or there on shaky ground, to becoming a cliff-dive into the Grand Canyon.

Just a few of the changes we ended up with after all this:

'Leadership' (Roberson and Governor's staff) didn't like the results they're seeing for the first time, as the plan was being printed and stapled in front of me and did NOT reflect at all what the data showed

Concerned, I email Dr. Blackmore:

ESRI rep. emails me:

"Can you please send me a copy of your data model for the dashboards?? I’ve got a huge complement coming your way, let’s chat in the morning. Please and thank you."
April 23, 2020 9:03 PM

I reply:
"Do you mean the script i use to pull, aggregate, format the data from Merlin?"

He shoots back:
"I need to know all the attributes you’re pulling in to the app. Perhaps there are a few data models?"

I send him my schema/definitions/etc.
April 24, 2020 3:47 PM

ESRI rep calls to tell me that the federal government plans to institute my methods, schema, and data models as the template for all states to follow, in an attempt to create standardized reporting across the United States.

I was floored.

As I go through the thousands of #Florida #COVID19 death certificates for verification, some of the most egregious things happening in March were people being sent home without a test, even when nurses recommended it. And this disproportionately impacted black and female patients
Take the case of Birdie Underwood, a 71-year old black female and retired teacher. She went to the ER with nausea and heavy breathing. They ran a flu test, which was negative. The ER doctor wanted to admit her and give her a COVID-19 test, but another doctor advised against it...
So he discharged her home and the test was never done. A day or two later (not specified in ME report), the family became concerned that they hadn't heard from her. They found her unresponsive and not breathing in her home. She was pronounced dead at the ER.
