Jimin has a problem: this guy just won’t leave him alone no matter what. When he complains to Taehyung, his friend gives him a great idea: “just ask the hottest, most intimidating guy to be your fake boyfriend”

And Jimin knows exactly who to ask. ImageImageImageImage

Jimin clearly didn’t think this through. At least not enough. Since Namjoon sent Yoongi’s schedule in the group chat, everyone was now waiting for Yoongi’s class to finish so that they could talk to him.
And they seemed to be more prepared. Some had lunches they made for Yoongi, while others had silly little gifts such as flowers. Someone even brought a teddy bear. And now Jimin knew this had been a stupid idea.
First of all, Yoongi had never shown any type of interest in… anyone, really. Second of all, the senior hated being the center of attention, and now he had a dozen people waiting for him.

Jimin needed a new plan. And in order to do that, he needed his best friend’s help.
Image
“But Tae, he’s supposed to be in class!” Jimin says loudly once his best friend called him. He pretended to be busy with his hands, so he put the call on speaker.
“I’m telling you I just saw him. He probably skipped class! He was carrying his guitar and, wow, someone just spilled juice all over him. I think he’s going to take off his shirt. Oh god, the muscles.”

Jimin bit his lip to stop himself from laughing at his friend’s silly act.
He turned around to see if he was selling it, and then realized everyone had already left.

“You deserve an Oscar for that performance.” Jimin giggled while Taehyung thanked him. “I’ll get ice cream in case Min Yoongi rejects you because you’re weird. Good luck!”
The second Jimin hangs up the phone, the door of the classroom swings open, and everyone starts coming out.

Jimin moves out of the way, waiting patiently. He was the last one out, and as Taehyung described his fake Yoongi, the real one had his guitar over his shoulder.

Pretty.
He didn’t spare Jimin a glance, but the boy chased after him, standing in his way.

“Hi.” He blurted out, eyes widening as he stared at Yoongi. The other glared at him, probably annoyed to be intercepted like this.

“Do I know you?”

“You don’t.”

“Can you move then?”
Yoongi tried to step aside, but Jimin cleared his throat, getting in his way once again.

“I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be annoying—”

“Well you are.”

Jimin scoffed. “Rude much?”
Yoongi crossed his arms over his chest, raising his brow. Jimin bit his lower lip, looking intensely at him. How could he explain to this guy that he needed him to be his fake boyfriend? Min Yoongi was… really intimidating. He would definitely scare Jungkook away.
Damn, he was even scaring Jimin a little bit.

“Keep staring at me like that and I’ll kiss you till you drop.” Yoongi finally says, face cold, inches away from Jimin’s.
Before Jimin could speak up, Yoongi turned around, leaving the other way.
Jimin is completely stunned, watching Min Yoongi leave. What did he say?

What a creep! Jimin has never seen this man before, and now he was being threatened with kisses? Who does Min Yoongi think he is? He has no shame!
Jimin was deep in his thoughts, waiting for his heart to stop beating so damn fast and for his cheeks to stop burning, when he felt a tap on his shoulder.

He turns around to find a tall boy looking at him with a shy smile. “Jimin hyung! It’s me, Jungkook. Your future date?”
Jimin’s jaw drops. He wasn’t a superficial guy, but he could appreciate a pretty face when he sees one. Still, the fact that Jungkook was handsome didn’t change things. Jimin still wasn't looking for a boyfriend. A real boyfriend. “Oh, hi! About Saturday, I uh… I can’t go.”
Jungkook’s face drops, but he quickly recovers. “That’s alright. I’ll go to your place.” Jimin swallows, looking around. Before he gets to argue, Jungkook is pulling out a small box from his backpack. “Oh, look! I got you a cupcake!” He grins, and Jimin chuckles awkwardly.
“I need to call my friend.” He says while he takes the box, bowing his head politely at the younger. Jungkook’s eyes widened slightly once he hears him, and he nods quickly. “Go ahead.” He says.
Jimin clears his throat, taking a few steps back before calling Taehyung, or pretending to do so. “Hey! Yup, it went great! Oh, you’re coming here right now? Alright... Oh! you need me to wait for you? Sure thing, buddy! We will both wait for you!" He says loudly.
“Hey Jungkook-ssi” Jimin says with a smile. “My friend is coming over. Kim Taehyung? Do you know him?" Jungkook nods. "Do you mind waiting for him downstairs while I, uh, tie my shoes?”

Jungkook looks down. “They’re tied, hyung.”
“I meant zip my pants. The zipper is down.”

What’s Jungkook going to do? Stare at his crotch?
He does.
Jimin immediately turns around, cheeks turning pink. “Alright, thank you!” He says loudly. Jungkook quickly apologizes before rushing down the stairs, and as soon as he’s gone, Jimin starts running the opposite direction, following Yoongi’s path.
He hides in the first empty classroom he finds.

Jimin checks each side of the hallway before stepping out. He then runs as fast as he can towards the parking lot, quietly praying that Min Yoongi hasn’t left just yet. He gets there just in time, seeing how the senior opens the driver’s door.
“Min Yoongi!” He yells, and the other turns to look at him with an unamused expression. Jimin stumbles as he gets to the parking lot, but he manages to stop himself from falling. “I need… I need your phone number.” He says, trying to catch his breath.
“No.” Yoongi simply says, getting inside the car. Jimin gasps, and opens the back door, climbing inside. “Get out.”

“No. Not until you hear me out.” Jimin huffs.

Yoongi rolls his eyes, and turns on the engine. “You can’t leave! That would be kidnapping!”
“Really? Because last time I checked, I didn’t force you inside my car.” Yoongi retorts, getting ready to pull out of the parking lot. Jimin’s eyes widened as the car begins to move, and he quickly closes the door.
“Please hear me out.” Jimin begs, looking at Yoongi through the rearview window.

“Why should I?” Yoongi asks, calmly leaving the parking lot behind.

“You said you would kiss me. I think you would like to hear what I have to say.” Jimin blurts out, glancing out the window.
He sees Jungkook running towards them, with Taehyung trailing close behind. They probably can’t see Jimin, but it looks like they’re searching for him. The boy sighs. “I want you to be my fake boyfriend.” He admits, turning his attention back on Yoongi.
Yoongi’s at the gate of the university, waiting in line to leave. When he hears Jimin’s comment, he frowns for a second. Is the first time Jimin sees him react to anything he says. “Get out of my car.” Yoongi mumbles, again looking relaxed.
“No!” Jimin whines, trying to make eye contact. “Hear me out. You have a literal group of crazy fans who are after you all the time. I have an intense boy after me! If we pretend to be together then they will leave us alone!”
“That’s stupid.” Yoongi shrugs.

“It’s not! You’re intimidating enough to scare the guy that’s after me, and—"

“You're pretty enough to intimidate everyone that’s after me.” Yoongi finishes for him. Jimin looks away.

“That’s not what I was going to say.”
“Just… give me your phone number so we can talk about it.” Jimin pleads.

Finally, Yoongi looks back at him. He sighs, and then hands Jimin his phone. “You give me your number. I’ll text you.” Jimin beams as he grabs the phone.
When he finishes adding his contact number, his eyes widen. “Oh God, I didn’t even introduce myself. I’m Park Jimin. I’m a junior.” He explains, handing back the phone.

Yoongi nods. “I know who you are, Park Jimin. Now get out of my car unless you want to come home with me.”
Jimin has no time to be confused, they’re already at the gate. He immediately gets out of the car, but before Yoongi leaves he leans close to the window. “Please text me, hyung. You’re my only hope.”

Yoongi doesn’t even glance at him before driving away.

On Monday morning, Jimin feels giddy. He keeps looking around, waiting for his fake boyfriend to show up. But Yoongi is nowhere to be seen. Jimin texts him, but gets no response. He just hopes Yoongi didn’t forget about their deal.

Min Yoongi is a weird man.
He agreed rather easily to Jimin’s proposal, but that’s probably because he’s tired of having so many people chasing after him, right?

Jimin doesn’t get it. I mean, sure, if he had an army of Jungkooks completely in love with him then he’d be a bit weirded out.
But Yoongi must like it sometimes, right? It must be nice to feel wanted.

And he can’t really blame them. Yoongi is a cool guy, he is pretty, and he plays the guitar. Jimin understands the group of fans, he does.
Later, when they are at the cafeteria, Jimin sits next to Taehyung with a loud sigh. “Everyone will believe I’m single.” He complains, making his friend snort. “Jimin, you are single. Or did you forget the fake part of your arrangement?”
Jimin huffs. Taehyung is such a smartass sometimes, but he’s usually right. “I just want to avoid any awkward interactions with He Who Must Not Be Named.” He explains.

Taehyung clears his throat. “Well, he’s coming this way right now.”
Jimin’s eyes widen, but before he tries to run away, Jungkook sits next to him. “Hi hyung! Uh… hi Taehyung-ssi” He bows respectfully.

Tae scoffs, rolling his eyes, but Jimin notices the way his friend’s ears turn pink. It’s not that hot outside, so he doesn’t understand why.
Before he can really think about it, Jungkook places a banana in front of him. “Here, I read that bananas are good to eat when you… uh, when your tummy is upset.” He says before glancing at Taehyung. “I didn’t get you one, sorry.”
Taehyung frowns. “My tummy isn’t—”

“Thank you very much Jungkook!” Jimin interrupts just in time. And then, like an angel dressed in all black, Min Yoongi walks towards them. Jimin’s eyes widen once more, and he even smiles a little.
“Actually, I think you should get going, Jungkook. Because my boyfriend is coming right now.”

Jungkook’s jaw drops, and Taehyung coughs, looking away.
“Y-Your boyfriend?” Jungkook asks, looking around.

Jimin tries to make eye contact with Yoongi, but the boy is still far away. “Yup, Min Yoongi. Have you heard of him?”
Jungkook freezes, and he glances at Taehyung for just a second before looking around the cafeteria. “Min Yoongi is your boyfriend?"

“Yes he is, and he doesn’t like the way you flirt with me.” Jimin says proudly.
He has a little smirk on his face, arms crossed over his chest. “You’ve been flirting with a taken guy, Jeon Jungkook. That’s such a shitty move.”

“Jimin.” Taehyung huffs, surprised by his friend’s behavior. Jungkook shrinks in his seat. “I—I didn’t know.”
“Ah, here he comes.” Jimin smiles. Yoongi is getting closer and closer. Jimin waves at him.

Yoongi doesn’t see, and he continues walking, completely ignoring the boy.
Jimin is petrified, arm still up in the air. Taehyung and Jungkook share a look. “Uh… are you sure that’s your boyfriend?” Jungkook asks, scratching the back of his neck. Jimin blushes brightly, lowering his arm. “He just, uh, he didn’t see me. That doesn’t change things!”
Jungkook raises his brow. “So that’s the guy that’s upset that I’m flirting with you?” He glances at Yoongi who’s sitting in the back with Hoseok. “He doesn’t look bothered at all. So uh, since you’re clearly single, and I’m single—”

“I’m single too.” Taehyung chirps in.
“We can still have that date we talked about.” Jungkook finishes. “So I’ll pick you up this Friday, okay? And we’ll have so much fun. And, um, I’ll give you flowers.” Jungkook rants as he gets up. “Because I’m a real catch.” He says, cringing at his own words before disappearing.

Jimin isn’t really nervous about getting a call from Yoongi, but he does his best to look pretty. After all, they’re going to post a screenshot on twitter. He checks his hair, applies a little bit of lip gloss, and waits patiently for Yoongi’s call.

Ten minutes pass by.
Jimin wasn’t nervous at first, but now he’s feeling a little restless. He’s pacing around the apartment, something he doesn’t usually do because Tae doesn’t like it. But Tae is nowhere to be seen. After he texted Jimin, the boy disappeared. Should Jimin be worried about him?
Before he can think too much about it, his phone rings.
Yoongi’s greeting is short, straight to the point. He’s always like that. Jimin also keeps the conversation short and takes the picture as quickly as he can. He doesn’t want to bother Yoongi too much. But Jimin is a really curious guy, so he decides to ask.
“Why are you sweaty?”
Yoongi scoffs at the question. “I was practicing with my band. We've been at it for a while now.” He explains, turning the camera so that he can show Jimin the music room at their uni.

“Oh! you’re there all the time, huh?”

“I like it here.”
Jimin nods with an awkward smile. “That’s nice… well I should—”

“We’re getting ready for the Battle of the Bands.” Yoongi speaks quickly. “Have you ever been? You know, the concert the music students hold at the end of the year?”

“Oh, I think I went once, yeah.”
“Yeah, my bandmates are all teasing me because each year, their boyfriends show up with flowers and signs. You know, a bunch of gifts. And I get nothing.” Yoongi says before turning his camera back so that Jimin can see him again.

And then Jimin gets a perfect idea.
“I could go for you.”

“Huh?” Yoongi scrunches his nose when he’s confused, and he looks adorable.

“Think about it! A big gesture like that? No one will doubt us anymore! A real boyfriend would support his guitarist boyfriend.”
“I also sing.” Yoongi informs him and for some reason Jimin pouts a little. Can Min Yoongi stop being so incredibly perfect? No wonder everyone wants to date him.

“You do?”

“Just back up vocals, but yeah.”
Jimin wants to hear him, but there’s no way he’ll ask Yoongi to sing. “When’s the concert?” he asks instead.

“It’s in a month.”

“Okay, cool. We just have to keep this up for at least a month. Posting pictures is great but we have to hang out more often.”
Yoongi tilts his head, and he tries to fight a little smile, which makes Jimin extremely confused. This is completely out of character for the Min Yoongi he met a few days ago. This Yoongi couldn’t even scare a fly.

“Are you subtly asking me out on a date, Park Jimin?”
Jimin blushes at the question. I mean, yeah! He is! But he wasn’t being so blunt about it! “Just as my fake boyfriend!” the boy says quickly, breaking eye contact. “We could go to the ice cream place that’s outside campus and maybe you can tell me about your concert.”
Yoongi stares at him for a little while. He takes so long to reply that for a second Jimin thinks the screen froze. Finally, Yoongi shrugs. “Sure, we can go there. I have to go now.” And then he hangs up before Jimin gets to say goodbye.

Min Yoongi is a strange guy.

Jimin is waiting for Yoongi on the first floor of the music building, and he can’t believe what he’s reading. Taehyung is so silly! Why would Jimin care about what Yoongi thinks of him? And yet for some reason he woke up early today to style his hair, and choose a cute outfit.
Maybe Jimin cared a tiny bit. He just wanted to convince everyone that they were really dating, and in order to do so he has to pretend he was excited for their date! It made sense, right? And well, of course he wants people to think he’s pretty! Who wouldn’t?
He sighed softly. Yoongi was running a bit late. He couldn’t complain though, the senior was already helping him a lot with all this. Jimin was still focused on his phone, reading Yoongi’s reply to his tweet over and over again until someone bumped into him.
Jimin’s eyes widened, but he managed to catch his balance. The boy apologized, and was about to walk away when he slowly turned around to face Jimin. Of course. It was Jungkook.

“Hi, Jimin hyung.” He said softly. He looked completely out of it. Maybe he was sick?
“Hi.” Jimin says, tilting his head. What was wrong with this guy? He was usually so upbeat. “Are you following me?”

Jungkook scratches the back of his neck. “I just got out of class… I’m a music student. Second year.”
Jimin feels mortified, but he nods. No wonder he keeps running into Jungkook while he’s looking for Yoongi, they both study at the same place. “Oh. Right.” He mumbles, looking around.

Jungkook takes a deep breath, closes his eyes, and then opens his mouth, getting ready to talk.
“Baby!” Someone says, and then Jimin feels a hand on his lower back that makes him yelp quietly. “Did I make you wait for too long? I’m sorry.” Yoongi says, and then he kisses Jimin’s cheek. “Hyung is here.”

The boy is petrified. There’s only elevator music in his head.
Jungkook closes his mouth, and he takes a tiny step back. “Oh.” He simply says, though he doesn’t look hurt, or upset, or even amused. He glances at Jimin, who’s still processing what just happened, and then he looks at Yoongi. “Have a nice day hyungs, I should get going.”
And to Jimin’s surprise, Yoongi ruffles the sophomore’s hair. “Don’t look so upset Jungkook-ah. Remember what we talked about, alright?” He smiles. Jungkook playfully pushes Yoongi’s hand away, and then he nods. “Alright, yeah hyung. Goodbye.” He says before walking away.
Yoongi waits until he can no longer see Jungkook before taking some distance from Jimin, looking as serious as ever. “Hey.” He says as he sticks his hands in his pockets. Jimin can’t believe this guy.

“What was that?”

“What was what?”
“You know Jungkook?” Jimin asks, hands on his hips. Yoongi raises his brows as he looks at the younger boy.

“I’ve talked to him sometimes. When you told me he was the one you wanted to scare off I just talked to him about it. He’s a good kid, you know?”
Jimin huffs. Jungkook is a pain in the ass! Why would Yoongi think Jungkook is nice? Or cute?

Yoongi chuckles lowly. “What? Are you jealous?” he teases.

Jimin gasps, and he immediately starts walking towards the front gate. Yoongi is stupid! And so is Taehyung, and Jungkook!
Yoongi follows him, hanging his guitar case on his right shoulder. “You’re stomping far away from me but you want people to see us together?” He teases again. Jimin hates him!

“I can get another boyfriend, Min Yoongi!”

“Nah, you want me.” Yoongi replies.
Jimin turns around quickly, not realizing how close Yoongi is and bumping right against him. Why is he getting so flustered just by the other’s dumb teasing? “Knock it off already!”

Yoongi looks at him with a little smirk, but he then puts his hands up in defeat. “Fine, sorry."
Jimin sighs loudly. He’s about to speak up when he notices some of the guys from the group chat staring their way. Namjoon, Hoseok, and Seokjin are all together, eyeing them up and down and whispering to each other. “Hold my hand!” He says, and Yoongi doesn’t hesitate.
Hoseok giggles when he sees them, and Namjoon shoots Jimin a thumbs up. Seokjin doesn’t react at all. Jimin puffs up his chest, though he’s a bit intimidated by the handsome senior. He knows he could easily snatch Yoongi from him. “Let’s go eat ice cream. It’s so hot out here.”
Once they enter ‘The purple whale’ (Yoongi snickers at the odd name) they go up to order. Jimin doesn’t even look at the options before asking the girl behind the counter to give him the weirdest flavor they have. Yoongi orders a simple chocolate cone, but Jimin pouts.
“Are you judging my tastes in ice cream now?”

“No! but… where’s the fun in that?”

“You’re one of those, huh?”

“Oh, come on!” Jimin whines, though he has a little smile in his face. “You may be missing out on the best ice cream ever just because you’re making safe choices.”
“Sometimes safe is better.” Yoongi argues.

Jimin shakes his head. He can be really stubborn sometimes. “Safe is just safe. You may be missing out on something great just because you’re afraid.”

Yoongi hums. “Even if it’s just ice cream?”

“Even if it’s just ice cream.”
Yoongi stares at him for a few seconds and Jimin can almost see the gears turning inside his head. Finally, Yoongi turns to face the girl. “I’ll have whatever he’s having.”

Jimin chuckles. “Still safe… but that’s a little better hyung.”

Yoongi just shoots him a gummy smile.
Jimin makes them sit near the counter, and it doesn’t take too long for their ice creams to get there. The girl puts two bowls down, and Yoongi grimaces. The ice cream is bright blue, has little sparkles, has bananas, coconut, and there’s even a leaf of mint on top.
“This looks awful.” He says once the girl leaves. Jimin solemnly nods.

“I guess there’s a bad side about taking risks. But hey, we’re bonding over yucky ice cream. That’s good.” He tries, smiling a little as he grabs his spoon. Yoongi watches him in silence, and Jimin tries it.
“It is really bad. That’s… There’s no way people buy this stuff.”

Yoongi chuckles, playing with his own ice cream. “I can’t believe I could’ve ordered chocolate ice cream and I let you talk me out of it.”

“Boohoo, cry me a river.” Jimin teases with a bright smile.
“Why did you want to come here in the first place, if their ice creams suck?” The senior asks.

Jimin smiles mischievously. “I have my reasons.”

As if on cue, the door of the ice cream shop opens, and inside walks one of the girls in Yoongi’s group chat. Yoongi raises his brow.
She doesn’t notice them at first. Jimin discovered a while ago that she works there, and so he figured it’d be a great opportunity to be seen by one of Yoongi’s fans out in public. The girl goes into the back of the shop, and Yoongi whistles lowly. “You did your research, huh?”
“You’re facing an army of people that want to date you. I did my homework.” Jimin says proudly. Yoongi nods before finally gathering enough courage to taste the ice cream. He stays quiet for a really long while. Jimin waits for any sort of reaction, but he gets nothing. “So?”
“I think this will be our last date.” Yoongi says, and Jimin chuckles softly, eyes turning into crescents.

“It’s not that bad, hyung!”

“It has mint, Jimin! Mint in an ice cream!”

“So does mint chocolate ice cream!”

“That’s also bad!”

“Fair point.”
Jimin is still giggling when he suddenly gets a text from Taehyung asking how the date is going. He sighs, and then shoves his phone back in his pocket without replying. Yoongi clears his throat.

“What’s up with that?”
“Nothing.” Jimin lies, but Yoongi only tilts his head. “Taehyung is keeping stuff from me.”

“Taehyung… Your best friend?”

“Yeah. He disappeared yesterday, and when he got home he was crying! As in, full on sobbing. He didn’t tell me why.”
Yoongi frowns. That does sound pretty weird. “He’s probably not ready to talk about it. Give him some time.”

“You don’t get it. There’s no secrets between us! If he’s hurting then I want to help him.”

“And that’s very nice of you, but maybe that’s not what he needs right now.”
Jimin deflates when he hears that. “Who wouldn’t want help?”

Yoongi hesitates for a second, but he then shrugs. “Someone who did something stupid, probably. Maybe he doesn’t think he deserves it.”

Jimin glares at him. “You don’t know Tae. Don’t say that about him.”
“I’m not talking about him.” Yoongi murmurs.

Jimin opens his mouth to say something, but he then notices the girl coming from the back room. She’s now wearing an apron, and her hair is up in a bun. Jimin panics a little, and he does something quick to draw her attention.
Getting a bit of ice cream on his finger, he then smears it on Yoongi’s cheek. The boy whines, trying to move away from Jimin. “What was that for?!” He asks loudly.

The sight of Yoongi’s cute little pout is enough to make Jimin laugh and coo at him.
But Yoongi decides to fight back, getting ice cream on Jimin’s nose. He screeches, and tries to cover his face, which is now burning red. Yoongi only smiles, trying to get more ice cream on the boy’s face. Yoongi then gasps, and stops for just a second. “Your hands are so tiny.”
Jimin gasps, pretending to be offended. He examines his own hand, and then glances down at Yoongi’s. Oh. “It’s not my fault you have abnormally big hands!” He huffs.

Yoongi shoots him an annoyed look, and he then offers him his hand. “Let’s compare.”
Jimin rolls his eyes, but he then presses his palm against Yoongi’s. It looks ridiculous, Jimin’s tiny, chubby hands next to Yoongi’s big, veiny one. With long fingers… and cool rings… yeah, it’s ridiculous.
Jimin glances at the girl in the counter, and notices she’s taking a picture of them. He smiles back to Yoongi, and then intertwines their fingers. “I think this has been a successful first date, Min Yoongi.”

Yoongi looks a little stiff, but he nods. “I think so too, Park Jimin”

an apology and a date? ImageImage

Jimin clings to his umbrella for dear life as he heads to the music building. It feels as if he’s always there lately. He waves at the security officer, who offers him a sympathetic smile. “It’s really pouring out there, huh?”
Jimin chuckles, closing his umbrella and nodding.
He walks up the stairs, trying to somehow delay his meeting with Jungkook, though he must admit he’s kind of curious as to what the boy has to say. Part of him wonders if it’s even safe to go into a room with the sophomore. Jungkook is way stronger and he could easily beat Jimin.
But he knows that won’t happen, Jungkook isn’t a bad guy. He just has a huge crush on Jimin. But hey, Jimin doesn’t blame him, he knows he’s pretty. He also knows a lot of people are looking for a partner while they’re at college. It’s the perfect time to party, date, all that.
So Jimin doesn’t blame him, really. When he gets to the third floor, he hears a faint sound of a bass down the hall. He knocks on the classroom door twice before opening the door. Jungkook leaves the instrument, eyes widening when he sees Jimin. “Hyung, come in.”
Jimin leaves his umbrella outside the classroom, careful not to get any of the fancy instruments wet. “Hey. I was surprised you texted me.”

Jungkook fidgets with the strap of his bass before nodding. “I was surprised I finally did it.”

“Huh?”
“I was debating if I should or if I should just leave you alone.” Jungkook explains, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear. “But I really felt the need to apologize. It’s funny though… I rehearsed this so many times but now I’m not sure of what to say.” He chuckles nervously.
“Why don’t you start at the beginning?” Jimin asks. He walks with curiosity around the room before finally sitting down at the drummer’s seat.

Jungkook takes a deep breath, but he nods. “I’m in love with a guy.” He begins. Jimin smiles awkwardly. Yeah, no shit.
“And I thought this guy was also in love with me. We’ve been on and off for months but he’s always pushing me away and stuff. And last time we broke up it felt… final.” Jungkook pouts a little, and Jimin’s eyes widen as he realizes Jungkook wasn’t talking about him.
“So I thought I could make him jealous.” He finally explains. “I saw you and, well, I thought you were the perfect person to make him jealous because you’re—” Jungkook stops abruptly, as if realizing he was going to say something bad. “You’re pretty.”

“Thank you.” Jimin mutters.
“But what I did was wrong. I was really pushy with you and I’m really sorry about that. I should’ve asked for help like you did with Yoongi hyung, but it didn’t occur to me that someone could—”

“What did you say?

“Huh?”

“Yoongi hyung?”

“Oh, about your fake relationship.”
Jimin splutters after hearing that. He looks away, and lets out a loud pitched laugh. “Yoongi hyung and I are very real!”

Jungkook scrunches his nose. “Yoongi told me you aren’t.”

“He did?”

“Yeah. He told me you came to him asking for help.”
“And I’m sorry I made you feel like you had to get in a fake relationship just to get away from me.” Jungkook finishes, but Jimin isn’t thinking about that. If Jungkook knew the relationship was fake, why did Yoongi kissed his cheek and called him ‘baby’ in front of the other?
“So I uh… Yeah, I just really wanted to apologize to you.”

“It’s okay, Jungkook.” Jimin finally says, offering him a small smile, trying to get Yoongi out of his head. “We all make mistakes. And you had your reasons. I hope that guy really comes around. You’re a good kid.”
“I’m two years younger than you.” Jungkook points out.

“Exactly. A baby.” Jimin teases, and it feels nice to have that weird tension out of the room now. “Seriously, don’t worry about it. I understand people do stupid shit out of love.”

“Like getting a fake boyfriend?”
“That was out of desperation.” Jimin shrugs as Jungkook chuckles again. “But hey, I appreciate the apology… Anyway, what were you playing, by the way? Before I got here?”

“Oh! It’s for the concert that’s coming up. My band is doing a Gloss song.”
Jimin’s eyes widen at that.
“No way, I love Gloss! They’re my favorite band in the whole world! Did you know they had a concert here two years ago? They were the last act at the Battle of the Bands! It was amazing.” Jimin rants, and Jungkook gasps excitedly before offering to play some songs for Jimin.
Jungkook is a great bassist, and he’s also pretty good at singing. Eventually Jimin joins him, and he then finds the drumsticks and begins attacking the drum set, making the younger laugh uncontrollably.

It’s nice.
Jimin eventually decides to leave so that Jungkook can go back to practice. He waves at the boy, grabs his umbrella, and goes back downstairs. The rain somehow got more intense, and it was even getting the hallways wet. Jimin shivered, it’d be a long walk back to his apartment.
He opens his umbrella, ready to step outside. It isn’t that big, but it is enough for Jimin. He was about to leave, when he suddenly spots a silhouette running towards the building. It doesn’t take him long to realize it’s Yoongi, guitar case over his shoulder.
Jimin gasps, feeling worried, and he runs as fast as he can towards him. “Hyung” Jimin yells so that Yoongi can hear him over the loud rain. They almost crash as they find each other.Yoongi is completely soaked, head to toe, and Jimin tries his best to cover him with the umbrella
“Jimin-ah?”

“Hyung, the rain! What are you doing?”

“Hold on, come here, you’re getting wet.” Yoongi says, taking a step closer to Jimin, trying to make them both fit under the umbrella.
“Yoongi.” Jimin tries, looking for the boy’s eyes. His hair is sticking to his forehead, and he looks paler than usual. “What are you doing?”

“I came over to practice.” The senior explains, shivering.

“There’s no way you’re staying. Come on. Is your car here?”
Yoongi shakes his head. Jimin sighs softly, how could Yoongi be so reckless? “I took the bus.” The other explains. Jimin hands him the handle of the umbrella, and he then takes off his sweater. “Wait. You’ll freeze.” Yoongi says, but Jimin ignores him as he covers him with it.
“My car’s parked over here, come on.” Jimin says with a worried little frown, making them walk fast. He doesn’t want Yoongi to catch a cold. He waits for him to get inside the car before getting in the driver’s seat. He leaves the umbrella on the floor and then grabs a blanket.
He hands it over to Yoongi, and tries to wrap the boy like a burrito. Yoongi chuckles, gently grabbing Jimin’s hands. “You’re pouting. You look like a chick with a little beak.”

Jimin doesn’t think it’s funny. “You’re going to get sick pulling stuff like that! Are you insane?”
“It wasn’t raining that hard when I left my house.” Yoongi sniffles, nuzzling into the blanket. “Do you always keep this in your car?”

“Taehyung likes to nap in between classes. There’s a pillow in the trunk.” Jimin huffs as he runs his hand up and down his arm. “It’s his car.”
He hadn’t realized, but he got pretty wet since he was trying to give all the umbrella to Yoongi. “I didn’t think I’d see you today.” The senior says, still shivering. Jimin turns on the car’s heater. He doesn’t want to mention Jungkook, since the boy asked him not to.
“I came looking for you.” Jimin blurts out instead. Yoongi stares at him, clearly shocked. Jimin internally curses at himself. “I know you, so I figured you’d come here to practice while God sent a second flood to kill us all.” He lies. Yoongi snorts, and Jimin thinks it’s cute.
“My hero. Thank you. Maybe next time you can come with a bigger umbrella.”

“Next time don’t try to drown yourself just to practice!” Jimin huffs, though he then relaxes a little. He’s glad he could help Yoongi out.

“I really should get going though.”
Jimin frowns. It doesn’t sit right with him to let Yoongi walk back outside after getting wet in the rain like that. “I’ll make you a deal.” Jimin says instead. “Come to my apartment. You can take a shower, play your guitar for me, and I’ll order ramen. Sounds good?”
Yoongi smiles. “Yeah, sounds good.”
Jimin has a dilemma.

It’s been a week since Jungkook apologized to him, and Jimin no longer feels the need to hide from the boy every time he sees him. That’s good. But… Jimin hasn’t told Yoongi that Jungkook apologized.
He doesn’t know why. He guesses he should? But Yoongi didn’t tell him about the fact that Jungkook knew their relationship was fake. He even kissed Jimin’s cheek when there was no need!

Jimin’s so confused.
It also didn’t help that, as expected, Yoongi got sick the day after the storm. He had to stay at his house for days, and Jimin, as a good fake boyfriend, went over to visit him, take care of him, and bring him his homework.
He likes spending time with Yoongi. He worries about him, wants him to be healthy and happy. He also bought him more yucky ice cream when he went to visit, which made Yoongi groan and complain. “Are you trying to poison me, Park Jimin?” he asked, and it made Jimin giggle.
Jimin laughs a lot when he’s around Yoongi. He enjoys spending time with the senior. He loves listening to Yoongi play the guitar (even if he claims he doesn’t know any Gloss songs), loves when he cooks for him, the bickering, the fake dates.

He loves them a bit too much.
Yeah, Jimin has a dilemma.

He doesn’t want this to end. And so he’s really worried because he doesn’t want Yoongi to find out that things are now alright with Jungkook. What if the senior says something like “Alright, problem solved, bye now.”

He asked Jungkook to stay quiet.
Jimin tries to convince himself that he’s not really doing anything wrong. After all, he’s also helping Yoongi out with his crazy fans! But… it’s been days since they bothered Yoongi or Jimin. It seems as if they finally moved on. So Yoongi doesn’t need Jimin anymore.
But Jimin wants to stay with him.

The senior is going back to uni today, and he asked Jimin to meet up with him for lunch. Jimin hates the fact that he picks his outfit carefully, does light makeup, and styles his hair. Why is he trying to look pretty for Yoongi!?
He shouldn’t care so much about any of this! But he does, and he gets excited when he gets a text from Yoongi. A picture.

It’s a bit late by the time they finish their picnic. After eating, they stayed there. Jimin was completely shocked when he saw the pretty blanket and all the food Yoongi got. The senior only shrugged, mumbling something about how cheesy it was. Jimin swears he saw him blush tho.
Yoongi asked about Jimin’s finals, and the boy complained for almost ten minutes straight. When he realized he had been ranting he apologized, but Yoongi assured him that he liked listening to Jimin speak.
“I like your voice.” Yoongi said, and Jimin’s heart did a backflip.
Jimin asked about the upcoming concert, and Yoongi just shrugged. It seems as if he didn’t want to talk about it, so Jimin didn’t push the subject. Then, Jungkook showed up. Jimin let out a dramatic gasp, and he moved closer to Yoongi, immediately reaching out to grab his hand.
Jimin hates the fact that he would only feel brave to flirt with Yoongi whenever he had a proper reason to do it, like Jungkook, but it was good enough for now. Yoongi’s hand felt nice against his own.
The second Jungkook leaves, Yoongi lets go, and Jimin can’t help but to pout.
The sky darkens sooner than expected, and Yoongi insist in walking Jimin towards his apartment. The younger male is standing right in front of his door, waiting for Yoongi to make a move.

But he doesn’t. He only makes a funny salute. “Bye, Park Jimin.”
Jimin scoffs, rolls his eyes, and crosses his arms. “You really are a fake boyfriend.” He simply says.

Yoongi raises his brow. “What is that supposed to mean?”

“You always say goodbye in a weird way. It’s not something a boyfriend would do.”
“And what would a real boyfriend say?” Yoongi asks.

Jimin shrugs, though he feels a little nervous because of the question. “I don’t know... Have sweet dreams, I can’t wait to see you tomorrow, I’ll miss you, I hope you dream of me.”
"I see." Yoongi nods slowly. Finally, he opens his mouth once more; “Well, I hope—”

The door of the apartment swings open, and Jimin doesn’t get to hear the rest of the sentence. He turns around, looking at Taehyung, who looks like a deer caught in red lights.
“Where are you going?” Jimin asks.

“What are you two doing?” Taehyung replies. He looks well dressed, with make up and… is that cologne?

“Kim Taehyung, do you have a date?”

“What? Don’t be ridiculous.” Jimin knows he’s lying.
“Anyways, I have to go now. Uh, don’t wait up. You two can continue doing… whatever this is.” Tae says, patting Yoongi on the back as he walks pass him. Before Jimin gets to ask him more questions, his best friend disappears.

“See?” Jimin pouts. “He’s hiding things from me!”
Yoongi chuckles lowly. “Why are you laughing!? It’s not funny, hyung!”

“I just think you’re really cute when you get angry.” He admits, and Jimin swallows.

“What were you going to say before Taehyung interrupted?”

“Hm? Nothing. Doesn’t matter.”
Jimin wants to complain, but Yoongi takes a step closer. “Do you mind if I keep you company for a bit? Since Taehyung is gone.”

Jimin really wants to kiss him. “Sure, why not?”
After making some tea, they sit in the living room. It’s a bit awkward at first, since they’re both quiet and doing their best to avoid looking at the other. “I had fun today.” Yoongi finally says, looking down at his mug. Jimin smiles brightly when he hears him.
“I did too. You really surprised me with that picnic.”

“Well, I try to be a good fake boyfriend.”

“You are a great boyfriend. Uh, fake one.”

Yoongi chuckles, and Jimin wants to move a little closer to him, but he doesn’t.
“I think we’re really selling it, you know? Some people stopped me today to say they think we’re cute together.”

“Really?” Jimin sounds a bit surprised. “What did they say?”

“That they were rooting for us? They shipped us, or something? Stuff like that.”
“It’s nice not to be swarmed by people right after class. It made me so uncomfortable. Just, trying to say no to nice girls and guys that were trying to give me gifts, I didn’t want to be an asshole, but it was really weird for me.” Yoongi opens up, and Jimin offers him his hand.
“I’m glad I could help.” Jimin says genuinely. Yoongi nods, and shoots him a killer gummy smile.

“I’m glad I can help you with Jungkook. The kid just won’t give up, huh?”

Jimin chuckles awkwardly. “Yeah, he’s so insistent” He lies, but he feels bad for saying that about him.
After the tension dissipates, they decide to play video games. Jimin whines every time he loses, and Yoongi lets him win a few times just to hear him gloat about how good he is. They laugh, and order pizza, and it feels almost like a date. But this time they’re alone. It's nice.
At some point, after a stressful game, Yoongi offers to go to the kitchen to refill their drinks. He gets up, ruffles Jimin’s hair, and moves to the kitchen. Jimin sighs. He’s having so much fun, and he thinks that maybe he can gather the courage to tell Yoongi about Jungkook.
He’s deep in his thoughts when the sound of text messages brings him back to reality. He grabs the phone, thinking it’s his own, but he then frowns when he doesn’t recognize the screen… nor the person sending the messages.
let’s ignore the low quality background Image
Jimin stares at the three messages for what feels like an eternity. Who is this guy? And why is he texting Yoongi so late at night? Why does Yoongi have his contact saved with a ‘<3’? What the hell does ‘come home’ even mean? They live together?

Yoongi has a real boyfriend?
“Hey.” Yoongi says as he comes back, and Jimin immediately drops the phone. “I was thinking… There’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you.”

Oh. He really does have a boyfriend.

“I know.” Jimin says, looking serious.
Yoongi seems caught off guard by that. His eyes widen, and he slowly leaves the glasses on the table. “Y-You know?”

“Yeah.” Jimin replies. He takes a deep breath, and feels his heart break a little as he says “And I think you should leave now.”
Yoongi’s face drops. “What?”

“I don’t want to be any part of…” Jimin moves his hand between them. “Whatever this is.”

“Jimin.” Yoongi whispers, and Jimin hates how hurt he looks. “I was going to tell you sooner, but I—”

“I don’t want to hear it.” Jimin interrupts him.
“I just… I want you to leave. And this fake relationship thing, it's done.”

Yoongi takes a step closer to him, but Jimin takes a step back. “You don’t mean that.”

“This is wrong. And I thought you were an honest guy. Didn’t we say we would be open about things?” Jimin frowns.
“Please leave.” He says. It feels ridiculous to have this fight while there’s the Mario Kart music playing in the back. It feels stupid to have a real breakup over a fake relationship.

Yoongi doesn’t argue anymore. He grabs his phone, and almost runs out of the apartment.
Jimin slowly sits down on the couch as he hears the door close behind Yoongi. He feels the need to cry, but at the same time doesn’t want to waste tears on a guy that fools around with more than one people at the time.

Maybe he should’ve seen this coming?
After all, the first thing Yoongi said to him was “I will kiss you till you drop.” Sounds pretty fuckboyish.

Jimin feels pathetic. Sure, they were fake dating, but why wouldn’t Yoongi mention his boyfriend? Why would Yoongi agree to a fake boyfriend if he already had a real one?
Trying his best to stop himself from crying, Jimin puts on a Disney movie. But when Bambi’s mother dies, the boy begins sobbing like never before. He doesn’t know if it’s because of the movie or because of Yoongi, but he can’t stop. Bambi deserved better and so did he.
He manages to calm down minutes later, and he’s sniffling when he suddenly hears something outside of his apartment.

Did… did Yoongi come back?

No. He heard giggles. Oh God. Did Yoongi come back with his boyfriend just to laugh at Jimin?
Well fuck them! There’s no way Jimin is going to let that happen! He should call the police. This—This is considered harassment! He jumps from the couch, ready to take those two assholes down. He stomps towards the front door, swings it open, and gets ready to start yelling.
When he suddenly sees his best friend making out with Jungkook against the wall.

“What the fuck?”

“Jimin!”

“Hi hyung.” Jungkook says with a shameless little smile, hand on Taehyung’s ass.

“What the actual fuck?”

“Chim, hold on.”

“What the fuck is going on!”
Jimin runs back inside the apartment, and the other two follow him inside. Jungkook closes the door while Jimin paces around the living room. “You two? Jungkook, the guy you have been dating on and off is Taehyung?” Jimin asks. The maknae nods, and Taehyung swallows nervously.
“You used me to make my best friend jealous?” Jimin asks again, almost yelling.

“But I apologized for doing that!”

“It changes things when you used me to get to my best friend!” Jimin huffs before finally turning to Taehyung. “And you!”
“Chim, please.”

“No! When I first told you about Jungkook, you didn’t say shit! You knew from the beginning he was just using me and you said nothing! And you…” He stops for a second. “It was your fault.”

“Huh?”

“It was your idea that I get a fake boyfriend.”
Taehyung frowns, glancing at Jungkook.

Jimin points his finger at Taehyung, poking his chest. “Min Yoongi using me is also your fault!”

“What? What do you mean he used you?” Tae asks, eyes widening as he takes a step back.
“He has a real boyfriend!” Jimin huffs. “And he kept it a secret! Does it sound familiar to you guys?” Jimin’s fuming by now.

“I’m sorry, Chim. I didn’t think—”

“Exactly! You didn’t think! None of you did! Because why else would you, my best friend, hurt me like this?”
“It’s not his fault, hyung.” Jungkook intervenes.

“Get out.” Jimin says through gritted teeth. “Both of you. Get out.”

“I live here!” Taehyung whines.

“Well, I wish you didn’t!”

There's silence after that. The best friends glare at each other, and Jungkook looks between them.
“Lets go, Kookie”

Jimin scoffs. "You are the worst friend ever”

“Not everything is about you, Jimin!”

“When has it ever been about me?”

“Don’t you think it’s weird that you never noticed for two years that I had a boyfriend?”

“You could’ve told me!”

“You should’ve noticed!”
“Tae.” Jungkook interrupts again, reaching out to hold the boy’s hand. Taehyung takes a deep breath, and then nods, intertwining their fingers. Jimin wants to punch them.

“I’ll be staying over at Jungkook’s while you deal with your stupid tantrum.” He says.
“You’re an asshole.” Jimin mutters, but Jungkook is already tugging Taehyung towards the door. They leave, and then apartment feels strangely calm.

No, not calm. It feels lonely.

Jimin breaks down crying once again.
sad boy hours ImageImage
It’s been a long week for Jimin. For some reason, finals week always arrives when he’s at his lowest. He doesn’t know if that’s good or bad. The amount of work doesn’t let him think much about Taehyung or Yoongi. But thinking about them doesn’t let him work.
Taehyung didn’t come back to the apartment. But Jungkook did. Jimin was ready to cuss him out when he saw him, but the younger cleared his throat. “He asked me to come get clothes for him.” He explained. “He’s staying with me for a few days.”
For some reason, Jimin stopped fighting Jungkook when he heard that. He just watched how the younger got some of Tae’s clothes in a bag. Once he was ready to go, he quietly apologized to Jimin, bowing respectfully before leaving him.
Jimin hadn’t heard from any of them after that. He really had the time to cry himself to sleep a few times, followed by repeatedly punching Taehyung’s pillow, just to then clean their whole apartment for when his friend gets back. He also tried to run into Yoongi at campus.
But he didn’t see him. It’s as if everyone had this quiet agreement to ignore Jimin. He’s trying his best not to go insane, but no one is talking to him. No one is apologizing, no one is yelling, nothing is happening.

It’s hard.
Jimin is currently at the library, with four open books in front of him. He can’t really focus, which is why he keeps jumping between different subjects. A shitty studying method, really, but he’s trying his best.
That is, of course, until he sees Kim Seokjin walking by. Jimin shouldn’t care, of course, but Seokjin shoots him a weird look that leaves Jimin speechless. Seokjin… is older than Yoongi. Was he the one texting Yoongi that night? Jimin huffs, and focus on his books.
He feels Seokjin’s eyes on him. And he then remembers the way the elder looked at him when he was on a date with Yoongi. It made sense. Seokjin was attractive as hell. Jimin didn’t stand a chance against someone like him. He looked over his shoulder, and caught Jin staring.
He didn’t look away though. Instead, he glared at Jimin. Yup, he was definitely Yoongi’s boyfriend. Just on cue, Seokjin’s phone rang loudly in the quiet library. Jimin leaned back on his chair, trying to listen.

“Yoongi-ah.” Jimin’s heart shattered all over again.
“Yeah, was just handing back a book at the—Oh?” Seokjin chuckles, and Jimin doodles a tiny cat on his notebook. “Well, you know I’m on a diet but sure, ice cream sounds nice.” Jimin scoffs. “The purple what? Right, yeah, I’ve seen it. I’m on my way.” And with that, the call ends.
Jimin subtly begins to pack his stuff. He doesn’t know if following Seokjin around makes him a stalker, but he needs to be sure if he’s dating Yoongi or not.

He carefully follows Seokjin through campus, and frowns as soon as he sees him walking towards /the/ ice cream shop.
And Yoongi’s waiting for him, guitar case over his shoulder as always. He looks pretty. He looks calm and… maybe a little tired? Jimin’s far away, but he can still see the bags beneath Yoongi’s eyes. Finals weeks must be hard for him. And with the concert that’s coming up…
Oh. The concert. Yoongi doesn’t need him to go anymore, right? No, Seokjin will probably cheer for him. Speaking of which, when Seokjin gets closer to Yoongi he ruffles the boy’s hair, and the guitarist smiles a little. Jimin misses seeing that smile.
Jimin misses Yoongi's stupid jokes, and his annoyed stares, and the way his shoulders move when he laughs. He misses seeing the tiny mole on his cheek, the late night talks, and the fake dates. Misses the teasing, and the silly remarks, and the inner jokes, and the bad ice cream.
Shit. Why was he missing someone that looked very much taken. Jimin was still staring at them when, all of a sudden, Yoongi looks at his direction right after Seokjin whispers something. Jimin immediately looks away.

Fuck, he was so obvious, with dumb tears in his eyes.
He hadnt realized he was crying again, but he shouldn’t be surprised at this point. Jimin shoots the couple one last look before disappearing. He knows he shouldn’t, but he still fishes his phone out of his pocket, and before he can listen to the voice of reason, he calls Yoongi.
It rings three times before he picks up. “Hello?” Jimin holds his breath as he hears Yoongi’s voice. “Who’s this?”

Jimin’s quiet. He guesses Yoongi did delete his number. He thinks maybe he should hang up.

“Jimin?” Yoongi asks. Jimin thinks he sounds hopeful.
“I—” What the hell should he say? Why did he even call in the first place. “I went there last week.” Jimin tries, his voice breaking mid sentence.

“Are you okay?”

Jimin smiles when he hears that. No, he’s not okay. “Try the citric bomb.”
“What?”

“The ice cream. Order the citric bomb. It has tangerine.” Jimin sniffles. He shouldn’t have called.

“Oh. Okay.”

“It tastes really bad.” Jimin moves the phone away and sobs, hoping Yoongi won’t hear that. “But maybe you’ll like it.”
“Jimin.” Yoongi whispers. He probably did hear. “Why are you calling me?”

“Just giving you ice cream advice?” Jimin tries.

“Why are you really calling me?”

He takes a deep, shaky breath. “I hope he’s good to you. Your boyfriend.” He finally says.
“I should have guessed someone like you would date someone like that. He’s, um, pretty.” Jimin continues. Yoongi is dead silent. “I hope you two stop toying with people though. I know we had a fake relationship but you could have mentioned that—” He stops himself.
“I thought… I know it was fake but at some point it stopped feeling fake.” Jimin admits for the first time. He realizes the heavy meaning of his words, and closes his eyes. “And I guess I liked that. But that was my mistake.”

Yoongi is quiet, so Jimin thinks he hung up.
Finally, he talks. “Didn’t I tell you not to jump to conclusions?” he asks.

Jimin frowns. “What do you mean?”

“Jesus Christ, Jimin.” He’s confused, but before he can say something, Yoongi continues. “I’ll try the ice cream. Thanks.” He huffs before hanging up.

Jungkook realizes a little too late that his plan will probably blow up on his face. He doesn’t know how the hell he managed to lie to the two most stubborn guys he has ever met, but he has no time to regret it, Taehyung’s already knocking at the door.
It takes a few seconds, but Jimin finally opens the door for them. They both look like hell, and they frown and glare at each other. Jungkook clears his throat. “Can we come in?” he asks.

Jimin stays still for a second before quietly shrugging and moving over to the living room.
Taehyung hesitates before following him, and Jungkook closes the door behind them. The best friends sit on opposites end of the couch, and Jungkook takes the armchair.

“So.” Jimin says, crossing his arms over his chest.

“Right.” Taehyung replies, looking away.
This will be hard. “I—I think we should explain how this started.” Jungkook intervenes. They both look at him, and now the younger is starting to feel nervous. “Tae? Do you want to explain?”

“No.”

Jimin scoffs.

“Okay, I can do it.” Jungkook quickly says.
“Tae and I met when I was a freshman. He was part of the arts department committee and was assigned to show all the freshman around campus.” He begins to explain, and although Jimin doesn’t look too happy, he hears him out. “I had a crush on him.” He admits, chuckling softly.
“The second we met I knew he was the guy for me. I’m sure I even heard bells.” Jimin tries to fight off a little smile, but Taehyung doesn’t try to hide his. “I asked him out and he said yes, but he had a few requests.”

“More like conditions.” Taehyung interrupts with a pout.
Jungkook nods. Jimin frowns when he hears that “Such as?”

“Such as not going out in public.” Jungkook explains. “Not telling anyone about it. He wanted to keep it a secret.”

Jimin rolls his eyes. “Should’ve seen that one coming.”
“Hyung.” Jungkook whines, and Jimin stays quiet. “I said yes because, well, I really like him. We started going out but sometimes we’d fight about having to keep the whole thing a secret.”

Finally, Taehyung speaks up. “I was questioning my sexuality back then.” He murmurs.
“I didn’t want to hear what people had to say about us. Specially my family.”

Jimin’s face drops a little.

“That’s why we kept it a secret. And we’d argue about it sometimes, but I still know he’s the guy for me.” Taehyung adds, and Jungkook blushes. “Then we had a bad fight.”
Jungkook nods, and Jimin looks between the two of them.
“We said mean stuff to each other.” Jungkook explains. “And at the end I said I’d date someone who would actually like me.” He grimaces.

Taehyung sighs, turning towards Jimin. “Then you asked me who Jungkook was.”
“But… why me?” Jimin asks, facing the maknae.

“You’re Taehyung’s best friend. I thought… I know it’s stupid, but I thought I could get closer to him by getting closer to you. I thought I could make him really jealous.” He’s clearly ashamed by the way he avoids eye contact.
“But you clearly weren’t interested. And Taehyung confronted me about going after you as soon as he found out… But um—”

“Now we had an excuse.”

“An excuse?”

“To see each other. To hang out. To talk.” Taehyung explains, clearly ashamed.
“I told him I was ready to come clean about our relationship. I didn’t want to hide anymore because for a second I thought I was going to lose him for real.” Tae pouts, and Jungkook reaches out to hold his hand.

Taehyung looks at Jimin. “But now I didn’t know how to tell you.”
Jimin scrunches his nose a little.
“I tried a few times but every time I’d mention Jungkook, you’d whine about him. Or you’d start talking about Yoongi hyung.” Jimin cringes when he hears that. “And things were good for you, so I stayed quiet again.”
“You shouldn’t have.” Jimin mumbles, and Taehyung sighs.

“I shouldn’t have. But you were happy.”

“I get that you didn’t want to tell me about your boyfriend.” Jimin promises. “But using me like that was wrong. And getting mad at me for not knowing was also wrong.”
“It was.” Jungkook agrees. “And I’m really sorry I used you, hyung. But I—The idea of losing Taehyung was terrifying. It’s scary knowing how much I love him. I had to, you know, do anything I could to keep him.”
Jimin thinks he understands. He would’ve done the same for…
“I’m sorry I yelled at you guys.” Jimin says.

“I’m sorry for not telling you sooner. Or, well, for getting mad at you for not noticing.” Taehyung replies.

“And I’m sorry I dragged you into the whole Yoongi mess.” Jungkook adds.

They stay quiet for a little while.
“Will you come back home?” Jimin asks.

Taehyung seems taken aback. He glances at Jungkook, but then nods. “I ran out of clean underwear anyways, so…” he says, making Jimin smile.

Jungkook feels relieved that his plan worked out. “I’ll go get us something to drink.” He gets up.
He gives the best friends time to catch up. Jimin whines about his finals and Taehyung complains about Jungkook’s cold apartment. It’s nice to hear them both laugh.

When he finally heads back, they get interrupted by the doorbell. They all frown, confused, and Jungkook gets it.
When he opens the door, his eyes widen. “Hyung?” he asks.

Jimin’s stomach tightens when he hears that, and he immediately jumps from the couch. “Jungkook? Who is it?” he asks, his heart beating fast.

And then, Kim Seokjin barges inside his apartment.
Jimin pales as soon as he sees the senior walking towards him. He stumbles back down on the couch, and looks at Taehyung for back up, but his friend is scrunching his nose in confusion.

“Who are you?” He asks.

Jungkook comes jogging back into the living room. “He's Jin hyung.”
Jimin glances at him. “You two know each other?”

“Of course! He’s always bringing food to the music department.”

“No, I’m always bringing food to you because you’re an irresponsible child.” Jin huffs, shoothing him a look.

Jungkook just smiles. “Yeah, that.”
Taehyung clears his throat. “So, uh, how did you know Jungkook was here?”

“I didn’t come for Jungkook.” Finally, Jin stands right in front of Jimin. “I came for this other dumbass.”

Jimin sinks further into the couch. “Seokjin-ssi, I’m sorry if I—”
“No, zip it.” Jin moves his hand to get his point across. “You’re a real idiot, Park Jimin. I don’t know what’s going on in that tiny brain of yours but you need to get it together!”

The three friends blink in silence. Seokjin groans, and pinches the bridge of his nose.
Finally, Jimin sighs. “I didn’t mean to get in the way of your relationship. I didn't know you guys were together and if I had—”

“There is no relationship!” Jin huffs in annoyance.

Again, silence.

“You… you guys broke up?” Jimin whispers, feeling bittersweet by the news.
“Yoongi is my roommate!” Jin finally explains. “He’s not my boyfriend!”

Jungkook snorts when he hears that. “Wait, Jimin hyung? You thought Jin and Yoongi were together?” Jin doesn’t complain at the lack of honorifics, he’s used to the little rascal. “That’s so gross. No.”
“Namjoon finally told me why Yoongi had been moping around recently. You broke his tiny little heart!”

Taehyung gasps dramatically. “So wait, what you’re saying is that Yoongi hyung is single? He has been single this entire time? And he was actually flirting with Jimin?”
“Yes!” Jin whines. “Yoongi was ready to confess his actual feelings when this dumbass told him he already knew and that he didn’t want anything to do with it.”

Jungkook frowns. “But Jimin wants to be with Yoongi hyung! It’s obvious.”

“Not to Yoongi!”
“But it’s true! Tell him!” Tae says, turning to face his best friend. Jimin is staring at Jin as if he held all the secrets of the universe. “Chim?”

“I think he finally lost it.” Jungkook whispers, moving his hand in front of Jimin’s eyes.

“Chim, this is good! He likes you!”
Seokjin carefully touches Jimin’s shoulder. “Hey. Say something.”

Finally, Jimin jumps up. “Hyung likes me?” he asks.

“Well, he did. I don’t know anymore after you kicked him out like a puppy.”
Jimin’s eyes widen. “He thinks I turned him down. He doesn’t know I feel the same way.”

Jin sighs. “Yeah… not exactly.”

Taehyung tilts his head. “Elaborate.”
“Yoongi thought you turned down his feelings, yeah, until you called him the other day sobbing about him having a boyfriend.”

Jimin cringes and Jungkook clears his throat. “You did that?”

“Yeah. Not my finest moment but... Jin hyung is really pretty. I was jealous."

"Thanks."
“And now Yoongi knows you assumed him and I are dating.” Seokjin explains.

“Oh.” Jimin murmurs, starting to understand all the mess he made. “He told me not to jump to conclusions but then I, well, I saw you texted him and I thought you two were together and it broke my heart.”
“And instead of asking him about it, you kicked him out.” Seokjin finishes for him.

“I fucked up.” Jimin whines, covering his face.

Taehyung scoots closer and wraps his arm around the smaller boy, pulling him in for a hug.

“But you can make it right.” Jin encourages him.
Jimin looks up so fast that he’s surprised he didn’t hurt his neck. “How? Did he say something?”

“Um, not really.” The senior awkwardly pokes his own cheek. “But well, the Battle of the Bands is this Friday. Maybe you can surprise him there?”

“You’re right. I have to fix it."
Jin nods again. “Well, good luck Jimin-ah. Don’t hurt my friend again, okay? I should get going now. And, uh, don’t tell Yoongi I came by. I doubt he’d appreciate me telling you how lame he is when his crush doesn’t like him back. He pouts a lot.”

Jimin frowns when he hears him.
Once Jin leaves the apartment (after headlocking Jungkook for a whole minute), Jimin slumps dramatically on the couch. “I can’t believe I managed to ruin things with Yoongi hyung. I even told him to delete my number. I told him I knew his secret and that I was disappointed.”
“And his secret was that he liked me. I’m such an idiot.”

“I thought you already knew he liked you. I mean, after the whole Gloss thing.” Jungkook says with a sad smile, sitting back on the armchair. Taehyung wraps his arm around Jimin once again.

“Wait, what Gloss thing?”
Jungkook seems startled by the question. “Well, you know, he asked every single band to perform a Gloss song. I thought he was their fan. But then you said you like them a lot so… I figured he asked all of us to play their songs at the concert so that you’d enjoy it.”
Jimin’s heart is beating so fast. In just thirty minutes he got his friends back, his hopes up for Yoongi, and now he was finding out Yoongi’s secret plan?

“He told me he didn’t even know the band.” Jimin whispers.

“What do you want to do, Chim?”

“I have to get him back.”

and… a mysterious plan? ImageImage
Yoongi is carefully tuning his guitar, trying to ignore how Daehyun sticks his tongue inside his girlfriend’s mouth.

They make a gross, wet sound, but Yoongi doesn’t have to endure that for long. At least not on his own. Jungkook walks in, sitting right in front of him.
“Hi hyung.” The kid says, offering him a bunny smile. Yoongi grunts to acknowledge him. “Are you ready for today?”

People come and go inside the room, getting all their equipment ready. Daehyun is still making out with his girlfriend.

“I guess.” Yoongi shrugs.
Jungkook’s smile drops a little just for a second. “I’m sure your band will win again this year.” He assures him. Yoongi nods absentmindedly.

“Last minute subscriptions here!” A lady yells at the top of her lungs. Jungkook types on his phone before turning back to Yoongi.
and… another gc for yoongi Image
“What would you do with the praise if you win?” he asks, trying to cheer Yoongi up.

The senior smiles. “I wouldn’t do anything with it. I think he’d enjoy it more. More reasons to celebrate.” He says, motioning at his drummer and his girlfriend.

“You should celebrate too.”
Yoongi decides to change the topic. “What about you? Are you ready to perform?”

“Always!” Jungkook replies with a confident grin. He opens his mouth, but they get interrupted by a loud crash. When they turn around, they see Taehyung standing in the middle of a drum set.
“Baby?”

“Uh, hi.” Taehyung scratches his neck. The lady that was yelling before eyes him up and down, frowning. “I wanted to see you before the show.”

Jungkook smiles and pulls him closer, giving him a kiss. Yoongi looks away.

“I’ll be cheering for you.”
“Yeah?”

“Yeah. I’ll be the loudest in the crowd.”

Jungkook presses their foreheads together. “Wanna come to my apartment later?”

Taehyung blushes at the implication and Yoongi wishes they went away. “Excuse me.” He mumbles before getting up.
“You made him feel awkward!” He hears them whispering. Yoongi needs to hide for a while.

He really hates this day. It was supposed to be all about music, but it somehow turned into Valentine’s Day 2.0, and Yoongi was just as single. Single and heartbroken, actually. It sucked.
He went inside the bathroom, splashing some cold water on his face. He hated the fact that he couldn’t stop thinking about Park Jimin. Stupid Park Jimin with his soft voice and pretty eyes and dumb jokes. And his stupid ideas.

Yoongi hates how much he loves him.
He really wanted to see Jimin here, in the crowd, cheering loudly. He wanted to see him backstage and maybe makeout like everyone else is doing. He sighs loudly, and splashes his face once more.

He misses Jimin so much. It’s beyond pathetic.
After finding out the real reason as to why Jimin had decided to make them stop talking, Yoongi wondered if he should try to reach out again. Maybe he should’ve tried to explain that Jin wasn’t his boyfriend? But then again, Jimin had thought so low of him that he was offended.
They should’ve talked about it. But there’s no use thinking about it now. Yoongi can't throw himself a pity party before the concert begins. Maybe later.

He was drying his face with a paper towel when suddenly Jungkook came running inside the bathroom. “Hyung! They’re starting!”
Yoongi nods, throwing the paper in the trash. “I’ll be right outside.”

Jungkook anxiously looks around, waiting for Yoongi. The concert always begins with the last-minute entries. They’re usually untalented musicians or they do it for comedy, and it is tradition to watch them.
“Come on, hyung.” Jungkook hurries him. Yoongi raises his brows, but he doesn’t question the younger. He has always been a bit weird. They walk out of the bathroom and down the hallway, finally exiting through the back door that allows them into a small area near the stage.
They’re on the right side, under a big tent. There’s puffs and cushions on the floor, and the members from all the bands are seating down, ready to watch the newbies. A guy goes up the stage with a flute, and everyone goes wild. Yoongi takes a deep breath.
He usually tries to avoid this part of the concert, but the crowd seems to love it. And if he thinks about it, it gets the crowd riled up.

But he hates it. He hates the dumb songs they pick, or the shitty way they play their instruments. They don’t respect music at all.
Jungkook doesn’t look like he’s enjoying it either. He keeps glancing around while bouncing his foot. Maybe he’s nervous about his own performance? Or, well, performing in front of Taehyung after finally announcing they’re together.

Yoongi is happy for them.
He had known Jungkook since they boy joined the music department. After all, he was an ace. Good with every instrument and even a great singer. Yoongi wanted Jungkook to be in his band. They grew close, and so eventually the maknae opened up about having a rocky relationship.
Yoongi didnt know who his boyfriend was, but at some point, after meeting Jimin and Taehyung, he had a small hunch. Yeah, he’s happy for them, and he’s proud of Jungkook. But seeing the boy looking so nervous was starting to make him feel uneasy. “You’ll do great, he’ll love it.”
Jungkook stared at him, clearly confused. He then opened his mouth and nodded. “Oh, yes! Yes, Tae will love it. You’re right, hyung.” He smiled brightly.

Yoongi hummed, focusing back on the shitty flute. Daehyun and his girlfriend came outside, sitting nearby and giggling.
Looking around, Yoongi couldn’t help but to focus on all the couples. It wasn’t just his band. Every single music student had someone in the crowd, cheering for them. And sure, Yoongi had Joon, Seokjin, and even Hobi said he would come. But it wasn’t the same. They weren’t him.
An accordion joined the flute, and the ugly sound was making everyone laugh.

Yoongi wanted to run away. He wanted the dumb concert to be over already. They didn’t even care about the music, they only cared about… smooching. And laughing. Like this whole show was a joke.
“I think I’m gonna go.” Yoongi whispers to Jungkook. The boy’s eyes widen.

“But the concert—”

“I’ll just play with my band. I don’t want to watch this.” He muttered, glaring at the guy on the stage.

“Wait til the song ends?” Yoongi shakes his head. “Music deserves a chance.”
Dammit. This fucking kid.

The song seems to go on forever. Yoongi is getting a headache, but he’s trying to be a good role model for Jungkook, even if the guy is only focusing on his phone.
🚨mayday🚨 ImageImage
Finally, the guy on the stage bows at the applause, and he leaves. They start setting up a mic in the middle of the stage. Someone’s going to sing. Yoongi straightens up a bit. The rookies are usually never good, but sometimes there’s hidden talent. Finally, a girl walks out.
She’s holding something small in her hands, and for a second Yoongi things she brought her own mic. That is until she introduces herself right before beginning to play the harmonica.

Everyone winces, and Yoongi sighs loudly. “Alright, I’m not giving this a chance.” He says.
The boy’s eyes widen, and he immediately grabs Yoongi by the wrist. “That’s my cousin.” He blurts out.

“Your cousin?”

Jungkook hesitates. “I didn’t want to tell you because I was embarrassed.” He continues. “Because she’s your fan. And, uh, she wants to join your band.”
Yoongi blinks really slowly, but Jungkook doesn’t back down. “That’s not your cousin.”

“She is!” He replies immediately. “That’s Seojun. She wants to be a famous… harmonizer? Harmonica player.”

“I’m not buying it.”

“Please don’t go!” Jungkook whines.
“Jungkook.” Yoongi warns, using his scary tone.

“Please.” The maknae insists.

Yoongi glances back at the stage. The girl is almost done with her song, but Yoongi doesn’t want to listen one more second of it. “Sorry, Jungkook-ah.”

“Hyung! You can't leave.”
The song ends as Yoongi manages to escape Jungkook’s tight grip. “I don’t want to listen to this shit, okay?” He huffs. “Stop telling me to—to stay here.”

Jungkook gets closer, and Yoongi takes a step back. But before he can say anything, Jungkook runs away.
Yoongi tilts his head, but he’s too annoyed to question whatever just happened. He gets ready to leave when he suddenly hears the microphone booming loudly, making everyone in the audience groan and cover their ears.

“Sorry!” I’m sorry!” Someone says. Yoongi stops moving.
“I, um, I’m not a singer.” The boy says. “But there’s someone… Um, there’s someone really important to me that likes music. So I, uh, I decided to meet him halfway and say what I have to say in his own language. Uh, music. Because he’s in a band—” He stops himself from rambling.
Yoongi slowly turns around. He could recognize that voice anywhere. “This is actually a song that I wrote for him.” Jimin tells the audience, hands wrapped tightly around the mic. “So, um, Yoongi hyung… If you’re here, I hope you like it.”

And then, Jungkook plays the guitar.
The melody is sweet and gentle, just like the boy singing. Yoongi stares in awe at the way Jimin closes his eyes. He can tell the boy is letting the music take over his body.

The audience start swaying slowly to the rhythm, and some of them even use their phone’s light.
Yoongi is freezes when he sees Jimin. He can’t help but to focus specifically on the boy’s lips ghosting against the microphone.

“You know, I know.” Jimin sings before opening his eyes once again. He’s feeling more comfortable now, a little smile on his face.
Yoongi’s heart is beating way too fast. He hadn’t heard from Jimin after that phone call, and hearing the boy cry broke his heart. Yoongi knew he could have made things better right away, but he was hurt by the lack of trust.
But now, all he can think about is Jimin’s voice, singing to him. In front of everyone.

“When you see me, when you touch me.” Yoongi thinks he’s not breathing anymore. He can’t really tell. All he can think about is how ethereal Jimin looks.
He's looking through the crowd... Searching for Yoongi.

Jungkook must have told him where he was, because it takes no time before they’re locking eyes.

“‘Cause you love me, and I love you.”

Yoongi’s heart is going to burst.
Taehyung steps into the stage with a tambourine towards the end of the song, and starts playing it loudly. The crowd gets out of the romantic haze, and they all start laughing and cheering loudly for him. Jimin chuckles, though his eyes are still glued to Yoongi’s.

He gulps.
They rush the three boys out of the stage once the song is over, and a new performer comes onto the stage. Yoongi is completely shocked, and for a second he thinks he’s going to fall. Daehyun shoots him a weird look. “You good?” he asks.

Yoongi runs backstage.
When he gets there, he sees Jungkook and Taehyung giggling, the latter still playing the tambourine loudly. Yoongi huffs, wondering where the third boy is. There’s a lot of people, and Yoongi can’t see him anywhere. He takes a step closer to the other two. “Jungkook.”
They both turn around, looking at him with wide eyes. Taehyung leaves the tambourine on the table. “Where is he?”

“Where is who?”

“Jungkook.” Yoongi groans again.

“I’m right in front of you.” The maknae giggles.

And then, someone taps Yoongi's shoulder.
Yoongi stays still, but he hears the same sweet voice that was singing earlier. “Hi, Yoongi hyung.”

He turns around quickly, afraid that the boy would somehow disappear if he was too slow. “Jimin-ah.”

“Did you like the song?”

Yoongi only cups Jimin’s cheeks and leans in.
Jimin’s eyes widen but he doesn’t pull back. Instead, he wraps his arms around Yoongi, keeping him close. The kiss is both sweet, and a little desperate. It’s everything Yoongi had dreamed of for a really long time. Jimin eventually pulls back, but stays close.

“We should talk.”
Yoongi nods, taking a deep breath.

Jimin smiles as he grabs Yoongi’s hand and guides him outside, ignoring his best friend’s giggles. Instead of going back to the concert, Jimin guides Yoongi away from the college’s big plaza. They end up walking towards the music building.
Finally, they sit down on a bench. They can still hear the music, but they have more privacy now.

“Hi.” Jimin says, looking down at their hands.

“What are you doing here?” Yoongi asks, tracing his thumb over Jimin’s knuckles. He’s still shocked.

“I wanted to apologize to you.”
Yoongi frowns. “Seokjiin hyung came over to my apartment and he explained everything to me… And I… well, I owe you an apology for jumping to conclusions the way I did, and being rude to you the day I asked you to leave. If I had known what you were going to say that day…”
Yoongi scoots closer. “What happened?”

“I don’t know.” Jimin frowns. He scrunches his nose, thinking about it. “I guess I felt insecure, since we weren’t a real couple. Besides, Jin hyung looks like a model. I didn’t stand a chance.”

Yoongi scoffs. “Have you seen yourself?”
Jimin’s cheeks turn red, and he whines before resting his head against Yoongi’s shoulder. “I’m serious, hyung. Everyone has tried to get your attention for years. Everyone has a crush on you. Why would it be any different if I liked you?”

“Because I like you too.”
Jimin looks up. “I really, really like you. You’re not just some cute guy, Jimin. I can’t stop thinking about you. I’ve never felt attracted to anyone, but ever since we met I just—” He stops himself. Maybe he’s too intense.

“We also have to talk about that. You lied to me."
Yoongi frowns while Jimin explains. “I asked you once if we had met before and you said no. What have you been keeping from me?”

Yoongi lets go of Jimin’s hand. “It might freak you out.” He admits, avoiding eye contact.

“Try me.” The other says, offering a kind smile.
“We uh,” God, Yoongi’s such a creep. “We didn’t meet this year.”

“Huh?”

The senior closes his eyes before he continues. “We met three years ago, at the Battle of the Bands.”

“We… we did?” Jimin asks, surprised. Yoongi just nods.
“Gloss came to perform in that concert. They were the last act. My band and I joined the crowd so we could enjoy their music, you know? We were all hanging out when I suddenly see this kid jumping up and down like crazy.” He chuckles. Jimin listens in silence.
“He was in his own little world. Just dancing around as if there was no one else around.” Jimin blushes. “Then he stepped on my foot. And when he turned around to apologize, well… it was you.”

Of course it was. Jimin was a Freshman back then, and he remembers that concert.
“Since then I kind of... felt something. I wouldn’t say I was attracted to you. It was more of a weird curiosity? I wanted to meet you. I wondered why you liked their music so much. You weren’t shy at all and that was kind of impressive.” Yoongi smiles a little at the memory.
“I didn’t see you after that, but a year later I convinced my band to perform a Gloss song. I was trying to get your attention. But you weren't there.”

“Tae was sick. I stayed with him.” Jimin mumbles.

Yoongi clicks his tongue. “I looked for you.” He says with a sad smile.
“And this year I decided to give up because, well, we didn’t even know each other. I had no reason to feel so… connected to you? And then you showed up right in front of me, asking me to be your fake boyfriend.”

Jimin is stunned.

“So I said I would kiss you till you drop.”
“Yoongi.”

“Please don’t think I’m weird.” Yoongi pouts. Jimin quickly shakes his head before moving his hand to the back of Yoongi’s neck.

“And this year, since you knew I would come, you asked every band to perform a Gloss song?” Jimin asks.
Yoongi grimaces. “I thought it would be romantic.”

“It is.” Jimin whispers. “You are.” Yoongi looks up at him. “All this time I was worried I would have a lot of competition when it came to you. Because you deserve so much and I’m not sure I can give you everything you want."
Jimin takes a deep breath. “But I can try to.”

Yoongi’s heartbeat quickens. “You’ve never had competition, Park Jimin. You have always been the one for me.”
Their second kiss is far more gentle. They meet half way, and the slide of lips is slow. One kiss turns into two, and then three, and then they have to pull back because Yoongi can’t stop smiling and Jimin can’t stop giggling. “We’re gonna miss the rest of the concert.”
“Worth it.” Yoongi replies before leaning in once more. Jimin only gives him a little peck. “I want to hear my boyfriend playing for me. Like I did for him.” He smiles.

Yoongi tilts his head. “You have a boyfriend?”

“Hyung!” Jimin whines before smacking his arm.
Yoongi only giggles before finally standing up, offering him his hand. “A real boyfriend?”

Jimin intertwines their fingers. “If he wants to be.” He mutters shyly.

“He does.” Yoongi nods solemnly. “And after the concert, I will kiss you till you drop.”

Jimin rolls his eyes.
“You keep saying that but I haven’t dropped yet, have I?”

Yoongi loves a good challenge, so he takes a step closer. “Then I will kiss you till you moan.”
Jimin smacks him repeatedly, and Yoongi can only giggle. An hour ago, he was sad and bitter that everyone had someone in the crowd, cheering for them.

He never thought he would be the one cheering for someone else. And as they head back, he knows Jimin will do the same for him.
