Ok, the WSJ ed board is making the case against purging Liz Cheney. Good! But I have questions. Read and let's talk wsj.com/articles/purgi…
The ed board writes "But she continues to rankle some in the GOP House conference by refusing to go along with Mr. Trump’s demand that Republicans agree that the 2020 election was stolen." See, it's her who is causing problems. She's "rankling" people.
The ed board says "Trump wants an endorsement of his stolen claim to be a litmus test for every Republican candidate. He’s the one who wants to refight his losing campaign." But get this. "The better part of political prudence would be for Ms. Cheney to ignore Mr. Trump." OH.
Now get this, the board says "Republicans should find a way to speak this truth to voters in 2022"

WHICH IS WHAT CHENEY IS DOING.
So, on one hand, Cheney should IGNORE Trump and then, somehow, everyone should speak truth to power.

These two ideas are utterly incompatible. Totally. As long as Trump is in the picture it's Trump or the Truth.
And none of this matters because when Liz is ousted, the WSJ board will probably go along with touting whatever crap Elise Stefanik says in the name of HeLPinG tHe ParTy GaIn SeAtz

Pay attention to what Cheney is asking for.

"A parallel bipartisan review by a commission with subpoena power to seek and find facts...No currently serving member of Congress — with an eye to the upcoming election cycle — should participate."
Cheney says such a commission "is critical to defeat the misinformation and nonsense circulating in the press and on social media." And she's 100 percent right.
Hello, Democrats. Organize your Cheney caucus of Republicans fed up with the election lies to get this commission going ASAP, please!!

NEW WaPo oped from Liz Cheney: The GOP is at a turning point. History is watching us. washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/…
Cheney is not only backing down she’s pushing for a full investigation into the events of January 6. 👏👏👏👏
Paging Kevin McCarthy. Tell us about your talks with Trump on January 6. Under oath.

If I am understanding correctly, a former WH official is telling the Fox audience everyone was expecting peace on Jan. 6. This is a lie. Ask Adam Kinzinger. He came to work armed that day and kept staff home. Bc of the threats. Quit letting liars lie.
I am not here for insurrection apology tours and no one else should be either.
Nancy Mace put her children on a flight home that day. Because of the risks. Liars are gonna lie on any platform they get. Why provide one? Unless you want liars to lie.

Ronna has some regrets. Like, “Oopsie I let the president and his legal team overrun the RNC with baseless election lies.” nytimes.com/2021/02/01/us/…
Hate it when this happens.
Hey, look who was standing right behind Kayleigh when she took the podium at the RNC to lie about the election some more. This was so bad, even Fox News cut it off. But Ronna smiled. washingtonpost.com/media/2020/11/…

Megabyline means shut up and read this. Jim Rutenberg, Jo Becker, Eric Lipton, Maggie Haberman, Jonathan Martin, Matthew Rosenberg and Michael S. Schmidt

"As he sought the president’s help in Georgia runoffs that could cost him his own grip on power, Mr. McConnell heeded misplaced assurances from White House aides like Jared Kushner that Mr. Trump would eventually accede to reality, people close to the senator told The Times."
"[W]hen Mr. Barr informed Mr. Trump in a tense Oval Office session that the Justice Department’s fraud investigations had run dry, the president dismissed the department as derelict before finding other officials there who would view things his way."

There are going to be many people pretending like the insurrection was something that just happened. Reject this, outright. This was a well-planned attack with malice and pre-meditation.
They planned for months, out in the open. They arranged flights and hotel. They carried guns. Zip ties. They erected gallows. They had all that on their person.
They arranged events for years. Rallies, with the presidents enthusiastic encouragement. They shut down the MI legislature.
