When I saw this tweet from @MrMalky’s about “Bunga Bunga Parties” at @theSNP I took it as a joke. But the more you think about it, the more it looks like SNP now stands for Scottish Nonce Party, a movement more concerned with promoting men’s sexual rights than independence.

For instance, here’s Angus Robertson’s ex-campaign manager, Nathan Sparling, whose alter ego is a drag act called Nancy Clench. Here’s what Nathan thinks is an appropriate photo to post on his twitter account:

Last December Sparling stood down suddenly as CEO of HIV Scotland, there are now investigations into financial irregularities and most staff have been removed.

Rumour has it that Sparling now works for Angus Robertson’s wife, Jennifer Dempsie at her PR agency. The ambitious Dempsie is also a figure of controversy having withdrawn from a bid to become an SNP MSP following a funding scandal.

Sparling announced once on Twitter that he was delighted to meet with activist Peter Tatchell. Tatchell famously wrote to the Guardian claiming that not all adult sex with children is abuse but can bring “great joy”

Sparling used to be an aide to Mhairi Black who also thinks exposure to drag queens is essential education for kids - she once brought a drag queen called Flow Job in to a school to visit the primary ones:

Outraged parents who thought the visit inappropriate were branded as bigots. Black also told women who speak up to defend women’s single sex spaces “don’t be a ‘Jeremy Hunt’.”

Another SNP figure who supports men’s sexual rights is Glasgow Councillor, Rhiannon Spear, who promotes prostitution in contradiction to the official SNP position that prostitution is a form of violence against women:

Rhiannon heads up the TIE Campaign which introduced controversial LGBT Youth Scotland guidance for schools. It taught kids that if they don’t conform to gender stereotypes they may be born in the wrong body. The guidance was later withdrawn.

With gender reform, the SNP are prioritising the desires of males who identify as women over the safety of women. Their plan is to allow any man who says he is a woman to become one easily without any medical diagnosis or gatekeeping:

Removing medical gatekeeping means cross dressers, transvestites, fetishists and predators will soon be able to legally qualify as trans and get themselves gender recognition certificates, allowing them easier access to women’s spaces and services.

Nicola Sturgeon claims gender reform won’t affect women’s sex based rights but the truth is very different, especially as the SNP have been trying to open access to women’s spaces to men for a number of years now.

So lets have a look at how the SNP have been eroding women’s rights, spaces and services:

The SNP even tried to introduce a law recently as part of the Forensic Services Bill where female victims of rape could only request the “gender” of medical examiners, not “sex” meaning they wouldn’t be able to refuse male-bodied trans women.

This was only overturned thanks to an amendment from Labour’s Johann Lamont and rebellion from SNP back benchers meaning an SNP U-turn.
