The history which dates back to that period when there was no Palestine, no Syria, no Israel, no Jordan, no Armenia and of course no Turkey as well. It was all one Ottoman Empire till the end of WW1. Let's quickly go to how Ottoman Empire was formed.

Before Ottoman Empire, it was Byzantine Empire established there. On April 29th, 1453, the Byzantine Empire was attacked by Sultan Mehmed II of the Ottoman Empire.

On May 29, 1453 Byzantine Empire ended when Ottomans breached Constantinople's ancient land wall after besieging city for 55 days. The fall of Constantinople further led to Hagia Sophia, a church being converted into a Mosque.

Now that the Ottoman Empire was established and despite of early struggles it sustained and not only sustained but thrived for more than 400 years. The last time the region peacefully lived was before WW1.

But Britain being Britain, a year back in 1916 it also promised under Sykes Picot agreement with France and Russia to divide the occupied provinces of Ottoman Empire (Britain kept Palestine for themselves) after winning the war.

And to top it all, Britain made the mother of all promises, here is the biggest of all, in 1915, a year before promising to France and Russia, Britain had also promised the Sherif of Mecca, Hussein Bin Ali that if he helps them in the war against Ottoman & German Empire...

...then he will be throned as the ruler of whole Arab world (including Palestine), so basically, they promised the land of Palestine to three different parties, the Jews, to themselves and The Sherif, wow that's what I call "The Promise".

The German army and its ally nations lost the ww1 which led to collapse of Ottoman Empire. The chaos had gripped the entire region and Palestine was no different.

Now the question was of delivering the promises but Britain didn't stand by its word and applied Sykes Picot and said to the Arabs that since the people of Palestine are less experienced and lack administrative skills hence British Mandate for Palestine will be applied.

They opened institutes to train them. 3 different kinds of institutes were opened, a different institutes for Muslims, a different institutes for Christians and a different institutes for Jews. Basically a Divide and Rule policy.

Now, as I said before that these 3 communities were living peacefully under one rule for more than 300 years, they went to same schools, they gained same knowledge and had equal opportunities in various fields.

These divisions led to rapid rise in disputes over small subjects which often led to communal tensions and riots. Now from 1920 to 1930, they tried to purchase lands from Palestine people through Jewish Trusts and settled the Jewish settlers and evicting locals.

Britain started to apply Balfour declaration in which it promised to Jews that will set up Jewish colonies in Palestine. Palestinians realised this rapid rise of Jewish population in Palestine, in the middle of 1930s the Jewish population comprised of 30% in Palestine.

In 1936 Palestinians revolted against this sudden rise of Jewish population, the Britain then tried to suppress them with the help of Jewish Militias and British also restricted new migration of Jewish people into the Palestinian region.

Also, Britain made one more
promise to the people of Palestine that in next 10 years it will grant Palestine a complete Freedom. But then the WW2 broke out. 4.2million Jewish people lost their lives in a Holocaust, Jews now felt most insecured.

The fear amongst Jewish community was at the peak, they had hide their identities, live in bunkers, even Jewish sympathizers and helpers weren't spared, they had no option but to flee to Palestine.

After the WW2, Britain handed over the issue of Israel-Palestine to United Nations Organization. The UNO was newly setup body (est. 24th October, 1945).

In November 1947, UNO divided Palestine and Israel into 2 (Jerusalem under international control) territories after passing a resolution through voting. Palestine declined to accept the map but Israel accepted it and on 14th May, 1948 declared itself a state.

But the Arabs were too angry with Israel declaring itself as a state so on 15th May, 1948 they very next day of Israel's declaration, Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Jordan attacked Israel, Israel had to retaliate and it captured another 75% of Palestinian region.

The remaining 25% of Palestine land was captured by Jordan (West Bank) and Egypt (Gaza). This war led to major refugee crisis. How many refugees did Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Iraq accept? They still live in camps, they had to pay for these nations aggression!
