ON CAR INSURANCE IN KENYA.
When you are buying your car for the first time, usually you tend to be very green on a number of things. However, many people have been frustrated and even lost their cars in the hands of irresponsible and unreliable insurers.

THREAD
Which is the best motor insurer in Kenya ? How should you choose your insurer ? Should you go with one who offers the best rates ? Choosing an insurer is an important process of owning a car that most people ignore and take lightly. Most buyers always want the cheapest insurer
Okay as at today , according to IRA /AKI there are over 40 insurers in Kenya. But wait, insurance industry is run by the BROKERS. These are individuals or companies including banks who act / link you with the main insurer. These are the guys you will interact with mostly
When buying your car for the first time, choosing the best insurer may be an uphill task. In Kenya different car owners have different stories to tell about their experiences with their insurers. However, there are some insurers with good rating not on papers or books of
Accounts but on “HOW RESPONSIVE THEY ARE IN FOLLOWING UP AND SETTLING CLAIMS” The Turn Around Time for settling insurance claims is the CENTRAL FACTOR, one should consider when getting their insurance. Don’t fall for BEST RATE narrative. I am not saying that you should pay more.
The frustration that car owners undergo while following up on claims is unbelievable. Before you onboard an insurer in Kenya, please take your time, GET A WORD OF MOUTH, don’t read on papers and blogs, look for someone who has not only insured with the company but also been
successfully compensated. Don’t rely on info from people who have insured with them and have not had any claims because insurers are very friendly as long as there is nothing that has happened to be compensated. There are mistakes that you need to avoid when getting your
1. Don’t ask the dealer you are buying from to recommend you an insurer. I KNOW WHY. ( They don’t care and they will never assist you in an event of anything, they will direct to an insurer where they have their interest covered.
2. Don’t just pick your insurance and stick it on
your car. With 1000s of brokers in this industry, you are likely to be given fake insurance. All you need to do is to download this app from AKI that will help you verify your insurance cover. You can download it from play store or App Store.
Once you receive the insurance,
Scan and verify it. If doesn’t show you it is genuine, chances are the insurance is just a printed paper. Not within the legal database. Let me finish by saying this : In Kenya, the BEST CAR insurer is one who compensates clients speedily without complications. Unfortunately
We don’t have so many of them. It is upon the buyer to do their due diligence including substantial word of mouth to ascertain the suitability and reliability of an insurer. We have few good insurers in the country.
All the best as you prepare to get your new car. 🙏

Buying a car at a good deal is more of a mind game with the dealer. If the buyer is vulnerable to manipulation, you will buy exorbitantly. Even if you like the car, do not be all over it. Be willing to walk away to check other deals. This gives the dealer an introspection THREAD This is AUDI Q3 2L arriving in Mombasa soon. You can book it
time ajifikirie if they offered you the most competitive price in the market. Do not act desperately. Also insist you are buying the car in cash ( Prioritize this). Toa gari makosa, do not be overexcited, let the dealer know that it is not that URGENT and you have to make a
purchase immediately. If you have time in Mombasa, go to the hotel and come back tomorrow ( If your budget allows you to). For you to get a good deal , do not prioritize big dealerships ( They have issues with quality control ). They also sell a lot. the buyer deposits an amount on the car and drives away with the car from the dealership. They clear balance on the car within a given period of time from 3-20 months ( specific to Mombasa used car dealership ). But why is hire purchase the most preferred method of car
ownership in Kenya especially among the young population? The answer is simple , the process doesn’t require you to have any collateral ( security ) and again is less bureaucratic. It is FAST, and the distance and Time between Footsubishi to Mitsubishi is SHORTER.

Once you get your first job or the job you have been looking for , invest in improving your skills and competence to an extent that you become indispensable. Majority of entry level employees become very COMPLACENT and just browse and watch YouTube the whole day at work.
Once you invest in improving your skills and boost your quality of output at your workplace , the organization will be so hesitant to get rid of you and you can work in your own terms. You can even tell the HR that tomorrow you will be late and they will understand.
But majority of young employees only show commitment within the first 6 months of getting the job , after which they become too comfortable. They forget how it was hard to get the position in the first place. The idea is to become more valuable to an extent that you can negotiate
