I asked my year 1 classes "What would you do if you won the lottery?"
Here is my analysis;
A THREAD
Alice - "Get 27 gold dresses made for me so I look fancy"
We kick things off this week with a very specific, very personal choice. Alice loves gold. Also, I asked, the people making her dresses are well paid and have employee benefits. She's not running an underground sweatshop.
Katie - "Buy 1,000 hamsters"
Alright, quick maths. Online it's claimed the average cost for maintaining a hamster is £600 per year. So, £600 x 1,000 hamsters = £600,000. Basically means she's got one good year before a slow decline towards a hamster genocide...very bleak times.
Jack - "Lamborghini"
Look, it's his money yeah. He can do what we wants with it! Jack wants a Lambo. Could you actually imagine a 6 year old behind the wheel of a super powered sports car?..Jack can. Ice cold. He also said he'll spend all his money on this car. Kids these days.
Toby - "Yellow Lamborghini on a beach with my girlfriend"
Take that Jack! With your stupid car. Toby's got everything you have AND a girlfriend. I did ask "Can it be any beach?" He said yes. Not sure his girlfriend would enjoy a weekend in Skegness. Tbh, don't think anyone would
Emma - "Buy the world's biggest soup"
Bob Geldof wrote a stupid Xmas song. Emma is a girl of action. Feed the world? Don't just sing it. Buy a massive soup and literally feed everyone! I don't know how the soup stays edible or how you distribute it but don't worry Emma does.
Mikey - "Make a muffin"
I should probably stop asking them around lunchtime. He visibly drooled. Like a string of drool fell from his lip. He also went into huge detail about how he would "Cook up the muffin". I did enjoy him calling an oven a "Hot Cupboard". Might use that.
Ravi - "Build things. Things that people need"
Hospitals. Schools. Homes. Ravi's got it covered. He had an idea of a education 'hub' where, for example, if you are homeless. You can be taught and given tools to build your own house. Thus also learning a trade. Bloody genius.
Rosie - "Give it to people with no money"
Rosie, knocking it out the park this week. Didn't hesitate at all. Do I believe her...Yes. Her initial idea was to just throw it all off the roof. I asked for the specific location and time of when it would happen. She ignored me. Fair.
Wendy - "Have a gate on my house that no-one can get into"
Same Wendy. Same. No more unexpected visits from salesmen, preachers or Mum. Big gate with a big camera that nobody can get in. Wendy has got the right idea here. A well made security system does more than keep you safe
Ben - "Give it all to charity...buy a boat"
It takes a incredibly strong and secure person to give away millions of pounds to charity....Ben is not that guy. He thought about it. There was a fear in his eyes after he hypothetically gave away all his money. Enjoy the boat Ben.
Susanna - "Buy McDonald's"
Does this mean, she wants a share in the franchise...No. Susanna just wanted some chicken nuggets. She's a girl of simple pleasures. I said "You can have anything in the world" to which she replied..."Yes". So I suppose, she's happy enough already.
END OF THREAD.
Just FYI the kids absolutely love being asked the questions and look forward to our segment every week. So your support is massively appreciated. Thank you.
If you an idea for a question, drop it below and the most liked comments will go to the poll.

I asked a group of kids "How do you deal with stress?"
Time to unwind
A THREAD 🧵
Will - "I just stop thinking about it"
Like many great guru's through history, he's mastered the art of not thinking about stuff. Being able to block out the bad is truly powerful. I feels it's important to add, he also bangs his head a lot so perhaps we need to look into this.
Daisy - "Do something fun"
Taking a break is an important tool to combat stress but equally finding time to do something you love is also vital. For daisy, it's playing animal crossing, eating chocolate buttons and being wrapped in a massive hoody. I cannot fault this girl.
I asked a group of kids "What's something you could teach a lesson on?"
Please choose your course wisely
A THREAD
Rory - "Rollercoasters"
As a self confessed rollercoaster enthusiast, I'm sure Rory would be the perfect teacher for this class. He would passionately inspire the next generation of coaster engineers. He hasn't learnt the meaning of opinion yet, so expect a hostile environment.
Daisy - "Colours, shapes and anything green"
It's like the title to a fantastic indie movie. Taking more of a overview. This class is for those who are simply looking to learn "stuff". I didn't mention that green does fall under colours because I'm not the expert, she is.
I asked a group of kids
"What have you learnt this year?"
Wise beyond their years
A THREAD
Rory - "Party drawings"
Let's start simple. It's drawings either done at or for parties. IT IS NOT DRAWINGS OF PARTIES. Rory can pretty much draw anything. So, if you have a birthday, anniversary or holiday party coming up. For the small price of "many crisps" Rory is available
Daisy - "I went fishing with my grandad"
The best thing about this story is not the sweet image of a grandparent and his granddaughter sat by a lake, bonding. It's the fact that Daisy didn't realise you kill the fish. This was a lesson learnt certainly, but a tough one.
I asked a group of kids,
"What does the world need more of?"
Take a break from the madness,
A THREAD 🧵
Rhys - "Swans"
Maybe a tribute to our late queen. It's rumoured that killing a swan is considered treason. Although some see them as innocent, gracious and wonderful creatures. I personally see them as aggressive, loud and often slightly evil. Children that is. Swans are fine.
Jamie - "Beaches with sand"
England in particular has too many stoney beaches. Nothing worse than getting excited for the beach and end up filling your bucket with just rocks. Not sure how we could make this a reality but I am 100% for more sandy beaches. Now we just need sun.
I asked a group of kids "What is something that makes you smile?"
It's not all doom and gloom

Rhys (age 6) - "Going home"
Sometimes just getting to the end of the day is all we can ask for. Tough days ahead but Rhys knows he will come out the other side. I feel his pain, all I want is be at home right now and I've just had six weeks off.
Evie (age 7) - "When my brother gets told off for something I did"
The Germans have a word for taking pleasure in other people's pain. Schadenfreude. It warms Evie's heart. As a sibling I must say it's amazing to see some justice. Even if it's unjust. They always deserve it.
